For those unfamiliar with the "Holy Ground", you might not realize that this song is not about a poor love-sick sailor bidding farewell to his true love, and the holy ground is not precisely Ireland. In the old sailing ship days there was a southern seaport in Ireland name Queenstown (now renamed Cobh, County Cork). In Queenstown was a notorious red-light district called...you guessed it, "The Holy Ground". It is to that famous old entity and the soiled doves abiding therein to which the song refers. Now that's a sailor song.

This band are shit. They try to copy greats like Planxty and The Dubliners.

They sound very similar to the pogues, not much originality and every song sounds the same.

Great cover, the Holy Ground was one time a red light district in Cobh. There was a reason why they wanted see the the place once more when they went to sea :-D
