Cool steamer. I drive those Trains to
It's not like he's going to run off the road. It's a train it's on a track it follows the track.
"And how do you see out all that smoke and steam??!" "Thats the neat part, you dont!" Thats why i atleast assume american steam engines have the cylinder cocks facing back or sideways instead of forwards, so you dont get a wall of steam
I would love to sit there ❤
Great loco, what’s the class of the 4-4-0 in the background
Weren’t German Smoke Deflectors designed to overcome this problem. The Flying Scotsman in its later iteration had them fitted.
That's so Awesome and Crazy Cool! I want one! Lol 😂
Shut up and take my money.
I would love to make a locomotive like this, but all of the explanations for how they work are always really watered down
Incredible! Are there books/guides that can teach someone to build one from scratch?
We're making your wish come true toad!
Where's the Link to purchase it? How much is it? Plus the price for the additional cars please 😊
It’s tgauge.com and I can’t really remember the prices but they are all on there!
Look at that go! Carrying a full grown man
I am also very grown. Not your average chap 🤣
very interested in this - a great opportunity and a potential tourist attraction if it can be migrated to a suitable venue
A great video, but the Dutch village is a Swiss village.
Thanks for the correction!
It’s moving something that big somewhere suitable that’s the problem!
@@FletchOnSteam it's like moving a historic building, brick by brick with every piece marked on a detailed plan.
The people who make these angry comments should get a life! Your reply to "Grow up" is the best 😅
Thanks 😅 they really should!
Great locomotive!
This is a testimony for steam power, if you ask me
Evans Jubilee?
Correct sir
I would drink and train
Train smokescreen is real!
Actually a pretty effective demonstration of the pulling power of a steam locomotive. That little bitty thing can haul a grown man around with those miniature cylinders and pistons, think what the enormous barrel sized pistons on a 1940s machine can do? Curious how accurate the steam pressure is to the scale though. Do you run it 1:1 or does the tiny boiler and lines allow you to actually run much higher pressure than the real thing would allow? I know the larger the boiler the less pressure it can handle, without substantial reinforcement, which is why for a long time there was basically a maximum possible diameter, because anything larger would require heavier plate and better joints. So i assume the reverse is also true. Anyway you could say it's a bit silly, but i think it's pretty cool. There are much worse ways to spend your time and money.
I have two traction engines, one is a 4" Scale Burrell & the other a smaller 2" Scale Allchin.. The larger 4" will run at 100 psi max some are a little higher & the smaller model runs at a max pressure of 90psi so in fact the pressures are lower than some full size engines.. Hope that helps.. :)
@01driver and I have a coal fired vertical copper boiler, 5 ins diameter × 1 ft high (not including the smokebox), and it has 80 psi max operating pressure. I use it to run several stationary engines (not all at the same time).
I feel the same as a mainline driver doing 100 in thick fog and not seeing signals until they pass my side window. Have to have faith in my track knowledge.
My uncle is a train driver and he’s said the same 👍🏼
@@FletchOnSteamO what railway or railroad your uncle work on
Steam all torque.
My autistic ass would need labels for the injectors and blowers
I have to retrain myself every time 🤣 you get used to it in the end.
It’s amazing
This is why western man conquered the earth!
Miniatur wunderland would fit in one room in this gauge lol.
Maybe T gauge is too little if you are a pensioner.
Amazing stuff. Definitely Steampunk. Makes me regret ever selling my scale working Steam engine.🚂😢
Imagine if there really were machines like this built in the past!
Simples you don’t!! If anyone gets in way they gets a lung full of steam. Quickest way to clear lineside of photographers, sheep, dogs, deer etc. That engines very wet at front end so cocks need to be open as cyl warms thro. Remember these BR stds have steam op cocks they don’t open n shut very quickly. Manual op cocks far better. We had to be careful on the 3cyl Britannia’s (rebuilt Bulleids) because of this. Used to go for a light engine run at Swanage up to advance starter to warm cyls through before we hooked on. Got the water out & when we started away they’d normally be shut by the time we got to signal box for the token. That is of course if the fireman had kept his water down. Then we used to amble away quietly as you should with a cold engine. Worked very well & was in my book good practice. We also had good instruction ex BR mainline men who had seen & done it all & knew all the dodges!🙂
How much does it weigh?😮
That green one behind..❤
That livery is what the full-sized scotsman should be re-painted in!
Agreed 👍🏼 it looks really well in that livery
Yes but without the stupid smoke deflectors
It’s water vapour, not steam, steam is transparent.
Exactly, if it was steam everybody standing on the platform would be scalded.
Look, if you're going to be pedantic, you should at least be correct. Water vapor is also transparent. What you're seeing is tiny condensed droplets of liquid water. And what they condensed from is hot steam that came out of the cylinder cocks and cooled off when it mixed with the surrounding air. It absolutely would scald you if you were directly in front of it when it came out.
You should put a face on it (why? Idk)
Is this Worden Park Leyland, I seem to recognise it, as I come from Leyland
This does seem odd to me to see this amount of steam unless there was a fault?
The drain cocks are open, which release steam out of the front end of the cylinders to do something useful that I can't remember Off the top of my head I think it's to remove any liquid water buildup from the inside of the cylinders but I haven't looked too far into it in a while so I could absolutely be wrong
internet comments are just atrocious. i'm addicted to checking comments but just as often so many are total shite that i give up. i watched you on the manor attic vid, i thought you were perfectly fine and really good. i did have one thing i found a bit off-putting, i was going to put it here but i'll leave it. if you're not churning out full vids it really doesn't make any difference.
She can actually carry a person? Omg I want a ride!
She certainly can!
I hate these people who put that sand on their videos to Ghana attention and sympathy
That drain cocks steam has a curious, sort of ‘electric’ smell to it which I find disturbing. You also smell it opening autoclaves (lab based pressure cookers used for cleaning and sterilising) after they have finished a cycle.
No way guys it's Arthur
Lovely ex br standard tank 4mt
Must have been very difficult to build to scale particularly with regard to boiler and moving parts.
It's not *that* massively complex. The biggest challenge in model engineering is in fact sticking it out until the project is done and not losing interest. As is attested by so so many unfinished projects being up for sale so often. This is basically ready to run so saves you that issue.
Great big loco
Is that 3.5 or 5 inch gauge
Superb
Great sound, I like it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
i love that steam locomotives are just live explosives on wheels.
"How do train drivers see through the steam?" They just don't, simple
