Wow, what a unique festival - I had no idea it existed. Great work capturing it, I really enjoyed watching along.
It's been a long time since I last got a YT recommendation which actually got me interested. Shots, color grading, storytelling, pace of the video: it's all perfect. I agree with your philosophy, I personally got a '91 Africa Twin RD04 with the same goal of riding anywhere, analogically. Deserved a subscription and will follow along the channel, cheers from Italy man!

My favourite T7 mod is a $25 handlebar switch connected to wire from the abs fuse. Switch abs off whilst on the fly and back on (have to turn the key off briefly whilst rolling).
I had that on my previous bike and thought on the T7 it’s not so simple and would give you an error.
Easy on the 1st T7 with just the usual abs off light on dash, maybe different for people with later model with TFT and switchable off only rear abs?

Haha, you’re biased! :D Those are Carpe Iter controller buttons (the old version). For my navigation Android thingy.
Good to watch. Few tips: Pivot pegs in combination with twin pegs. Love them! For your ram mounts, maybe an idea to put some of those white sealing tape on them like we use to waterproof connections of water pipes?
Heard some good words about pivot pegs, but also some bad reviews. On the fence about those, since the’re not exactly cheap for an experiment. With ram mounts will try the good ol’ locktite 1st, but sealing tape might work too.
@@ArvidsBaranovs we've got the pivot pegs on all our motorcycles. 2 Africa Twin, the T7 and the DRZ400. You could say that we are fans.

no point of changing oil more often then 10k km, waste of money, oil and environment. Also chain oiler make4s no sense for modern O-ring chains which are lubed internally. Oiler do more harm then good especially off-road.
You do you, I’ll stick to 5k also judging by the oil that comes out of it after heavy off-roading. And I’ll also stick to lubing my chain, it’s not a question about internal lubrication, but I have no fun riding a rusted and screeching chain on the road. And I commented about lubing off-road already.
I agree. it's a waste but it is his money, oil industry is happy :) .

even the best oils run like crap at 5k and if you ride really hard its even sooner. If you stick to the manual recommendation youll be rebuilding your engine soon after warranty ends
@@donkeizluv this. I ride medium intensity, so 5k for me. I know guys who change after 3k after doing a rally. I can understand the 10k from manufacturers point of view - it looks good in the manual and they don't care if the bike will outlast your grandchildren. Even my dealer suggested "unofficially" 5k and they have don't benefit from it, since I can change the oil myself.

I will ride a Norden 901 from Ghana to Angola this October. I think then will have a better idea about that bike. It better hold up!

Google “Ktm 790/890 camshaft issues” and you will know everything you need to know about Norden.
That would be a downgrade in terms of real adventure riding. Nothing beats quality and simplicity. Will get my T7 World Rally in two days. Can't wait. T7 is something special. It is a modern XRV 750 Africa Twin produced by a different manufacturer.
You mean riding in Nigeria, Congo and stuff will be a downgrade in terms of adventure? 😆

Great video! Got me looking for a 950 now :) Can you tell me a bit more about the "low quality fuel ignition system switch" mentioned at 7:08? Is that like a physical toggle to adjust ignition? Never seen that before so would love to learn more!
Thanks! As I understand it’s basically just a physical switch that changes the fueling that’all. Not sure it’s needed anymore, 20 years have passed after all. Fill find out soon, since we’re going on new 901s to Africa soon and filling up from bottles there.

I have a 2017 KTM 1090R that I love, but like you, do not like all the electronics on the new KTM 790/890/1290 bikes, and would never buy one. At this point I am interested in a KTM 950 SE. Great video, thanks for sharing.

Labs video ar stāstu, kas noteikti prasījis daudz stundu video materiāla un stasta izplānošanai! 👍 Man nedaudz pietrūka dabīgais fona troksnis (apkārtnes skaņas,motora, riepu troksnis, u.c.) un tiešās sarunas,emocijas no safilmētā materiāla, tad liekas ka būtu spilgtāka klātienes uztvere.
Zinu, ko domā, bet mums bija dikti vējains laiks un attiecīgi vienīgā “laukuma skaņa” ir vējš 💨 Savukārt sarunas jau mums savā starpā latviski, taču video esmu nolēmis turpmāk taisīt tikai angliski. Attiecīgi sanāk tāds deadends. Angliski uz vietas varētu kaut ko speciāli runāt un to arī plānoju nākamajā Āfrikas braucienā, bet tad tas vairs nav randiņš, bet filmēšanas laukums.
