Colle del Nivolet & Sommeiller - The Italian Job EP3 - a TET adventure in the Alps
The 3rd part of the journey entering the western parts of the Alps bordering with France which also happen to be the most off-road loving regions of them all, especially Bardonecchia. The rides to the top of Colle del Nivolet and Colle del Sommeiller mountain passes being the highlights, both in their own way.
This is a part of series where two Latvian guys take on an epic 2 week and 3500km Trans Euro Trail adventure across all of the Italian Alps east to west.

This question never gets old. Round and black ones I guess. Tenere Heidenau Ranger back, TKC80 front. No idea about KTM. Maybe some Motoz. Mostly overkill for the Alps.

Thanks! Yes, we knew about the regulations and followed the official opening times. Actually the whole trip was planned according to these times.
@EaglewoodADV actually this year the snow remained until late in the season and complicated things ✌🏻🇮🇹
@@paolobianchi3565 yes, I suppose usually in July one can ride to the very top of Sommeiller. Also the fog and rain was very un-summery.
@@EaglewoodADVmilitary roads are open any day. It just costs 130€ one way. You can pay it by bank transfer, no need to pay on the spot😇

Hey i am thinkng about 890 R next season. How is your experience - there is so much opinions and 1 is very loud for me - great to ride, terrible to own. Do you agree.?
I own the Tenere, so no real opinion there. I just value reliability over performance in an adv bike. Even if it’s all in the head.

I watched one of your videos and couldn't stop! Great content, would it be possible to get the gps track of your route? I hope to take my son there one day and would love to follow your route! He's 2 now, but already started on a little electric motorcycle!
Thanks. One should only use the oficial gpx from TET website as it frequently changes. Most of it follows big public roads, so I don’t know of it would be wise (nor legal) for a small kid. It’s not closed course off-road track.

@joebunevac5281 somebody’s planning well ahead :) Let’s hope TET will survive for so long, there are risks of most interesting roads being closed all over Europe.

Finally got around to starting this new series tonight... and it didn't disappoint. All those chickens... I saw Thomas' comment about the auto-ducking on the audio. There's a button for that in Resolve? Ha, really audio engineers set up a side-chained compressor!
Thanks! Yep, there’s a new button for lazy people like me :) It’s just that the duck and release times are max 1000ms now which is too little. Hope they fix this, I realy like these features that make life easier.
@@EaglewoodADV Back in the day (in the '80s) I remember manually calculating the compressor attack and release times for recording a gated snare drum.... These days it's done with the push of a button in SW. You kids have it so easy...... Enjoy and be thankful.
