Korea seems like Japan with an upgrade
Not the best but it certainly is the cheapest. You don't need to master English to be able to get a white-collar or a decent paying job in in the Western countries. Conversational level is more than enough.
are you saying that the quality of education isnt good?
Very progressive city ang Davao.
enough for BGC. Look forward to Clark Global City in Pampanga. It has more to offer 3x it can accommodate retirees all over the world in terms of amenities in real estate specifically high-end luxury condominiums a very cheap pre-selling prices.
I would advocate for these retirees to live on condominiums rather than building houses on leased land! The security is good and would help Filipinos who invested on these real estate thru rental income. Some foreigners are damaging PH environment by building on remote places like mountains, beaches, etc.
Filipino culture is beautiful and unique. 👍👍👍👏👏👏🥰🥰🥰
Tyjpoon yolanda , one of the strongest to hit the Philippines , it destroyed homes and infrastructure , just hour after the typhoon , those who survive are smiling , thankfull they are still alive ,
This system reinforces the need for parents to raise their children right. Also to respect, accept or tollerate their their children's spouses. Fail in this and you end up spending the rest of your elderly lives either alone, living with distant relatives or nursing homes.
In my area, it's not limited to elders of family. We are taught to greet god day grandpa or grandma to any elder we see, whether blood related or not and give them a bow if they're a stranger and mano when they are a family or at least family friend
As for open the lights, I think you just translated it from the filipino word "bukas", which, for this use, means open, bukas could also mean tomorrow, by the way. so if it's direct translation, it would be, open the light and kill the light, since it's "buksan mo yung ilaw" and "patayin mo yung ilaw".
My better half, born in Cebu, the youngest girl in her family, was nicknamed Inday, and in adulthood, it was shortened to 'Day'.
Our Filipino values towards our elders is deeply rooted in our ancestral custom & traditions even prior the Spanish era.
Filipino got a lot of words for Everything . another example is PANGHI it means Stinky, but Stinky is General. Panghi is just for the smell of PEE or Urine. another is HUBO, it means naked downward. No Pants or Underwear. HUBAD is the opposite. its Naked Upward, so No Clothes or Shirt. so if a person is totally naked He / She is Hubo't Hubad. another great example is PANG ILAN, this one really hard to translate. its a question. if we asking someone or something about their particular order in a family or group, if they're 1st, 2nd or 3rd etc...
Most families also live with extended family members.
Where is the Colgate (instead of saying toothpaste? I need to brush my teeth. hahaha
Kudos for the effort in your pronounciation. Needs some work though.
rest room or loo
tampo is hidden disappointment
alimpungatan is morning cramps usually due to low potassium
bahala na bathala (God) is It's up to God what happens now...
Gigil can be positive or negative emotion depending on how you use it. It’s positive when you use it to convey love or excitement and negative if you use it to convey annoyance at someone.
How about the word "Che!" 😂😂, I don't see any equivalent of it in English..
i don't care!
Bahalá ná = " F" it!, I'm going for it!"
I was laughin to this content... 😂😂😂 iba kaming pinoy
Bahala na. Que Sera Sera?
3 is gigil, not geegil....good try, though
I think below will suffice Pakiramdam - Hunch Bahala na - Come What May Lodi - Idol Pasalubong - Travel Gift
Tampo - "tantrum" can be nearest to it....addition is tagalog word na "anak" sa either lalaki or babae in filipino term...pero pag sa english word ay specific na "son" pag lalaki at "daughter" pag babae.
Anak is child, (my)child
Pakiramdam - hunch?
Agree
walang pakiramdam...no hunch? .... not quite....
Diskarte- own way of doing something
tabô 😊 naman, huwag kalimutan
:30. What's with the dingy and unsanitary depiction of a "Filipino" bathroom.? Another way how white euro ccentric and not so well traveled white colonizer portrays a dirty Asian bathroom.. Come and see my realistic bathroom in Manila. . You can basically drink from my bidet. This video is just plain racist.
Pissoff
JESUS CHRIST KING OF KINGS LORD OF LORDS👈THE CORE OF STRENGHT😇🙏
KUTOB is more apropriate than pakiramdam
Agree.
Ref is easier to type compared to fridge, plus if you say ref, your mouth is relaxed compared to fridge which has a little bit of stress to it. So ref is easier to type and easier to say compared to fridge.
CR or comfort room makes more sense compared to bathroom and restroom. Bathroom sounds very specific and would be associated with showers or a bathtub, this might work in a house but it doesn't necessarily work in public restrooms. Same argument for toilet, you don't want to call it toilet if you want to take a shower. Restroom doesn't really work that well either because why are you resting in a restroom, is their a sofa or bed in it? Are you there to take a nap? Well if you have a bathtub, it might work but not everyone or place has a bathtub. Therefore comfort room makes more sense because you are there to relieve yourself to feel comfortable, you are there to clean up or wash off dirt to feel comfortable, and you are there to pamper yourself like fix your hair, do make-up, etc, to feel comfortable with yourself. So comfort room is perfect, or CR for short. CR is easier to type and to say, so it's a practical name as well. The west has too many names for it, toilet, bathroom, restroom. Too much thinking. Compared to just one universal name for everything. The west should adopt the name.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY..... thank you
xerox - photocopy, yellow - ice, apir (up here) - high five, colgate- toothpaste & joe- white man
@@newetman4382 yello naman yun di yellow color na yun di ice ;)
Yelo and apir are not english words. The topic is for english words in the Philippines.
Mango float ka na 😂 meaning your day dreaming 😂😂
Thank you for this. . .
The tagalog phrase for turning on lights, when translated in English would be, "give life to the light". Turning off will be, "kill the lights"
Filipinos don't know when to quit..kaya tumakbo si diwata😂😂😂
So interesting! Yes as a Filipino , we love & respect our culture. & what we mostly share is our loving kindness, our care & mostly our hearts especially to foreigners & refugees who leave their families & their love ones behind. Having our humanitarian spirit, having the effort we give them laughter & tears whenever a Filipino is in need we surrender our lives to them in which we call it BAYANIHAN or HELPING HANDS enabling the world how we truly share our environment, our culture, our lives♥
if your culture is good, then, why your country is so corrupt and many philippinese are so poor?
Well, because no matter what comes on our way we always pray believing that our Lord God is our REFUGE and STRENGTH , Hard work. passionate to extend a helping hand. and smile . Life is good!
A very reason why i am searching a job in a foreign land DUE TO MY FAMILY.
You missed what Gen Douglas MacArthur said .... "give me 10,000 Filipinio soldiers and I'll shall conquer the world!"
Furniture or Electronics still in their original packaging or plastics.
Thank you for your positive take on some English words/phrases and quirky things that Filipinos have. If you are ever back in England and in the Shrewsbury area, please drop by so we can have tea.
I liked the bit about the oscillating fan "like an endless cycle of love and betrayal"... Hugot😅
