Litli Hrutur Eruption, Iceland 4K
On July 24th I had the incredible experience of visiting the eruption site of Little Hrutur, the newly born volcano in Reykjanes Peninsula. This eruption happened in the same area of Fagradalsfjall, another volcano that I had the pleasure of witnessing in 2021. This time the site was much further away and could only be reached after a 3 hours trek, one way. But the effort was well worth it! I a...
Guatemala 2022 - Acatenango 4K
Hiking to the top of Acatenango volcano was another highlight of our trip to Guatemala. Reaching almost 4000m of altitude, hiking up this mountain is very challenging. We were carrying heavy backpacks on our backs and we were fighting with constant shortness of breath, forcing us to stop every 15-20 minutes. Once we reached the basecamp the views were simply incredible. It was extremely hard to...
Guatemala 2022 - Tikal & El Mirador Trek 4K
Since I was a kid I always dreamed about visiting the ancient Mayan ruins in Central America. This year that dream finally came true during our visit of Guatemala. We had the chance of visiting the great city of Tikal, but even more spectacular was the 5 days jungle trek through the lowlands to reach El Mirador complex, where we climbed the highest Mayan Pyramid ever built: La Danta. The sounds...
Costa Rica 2022 - 4K
A small summary of our trip to Costa Rica and its wonderful nature. We explored mostly San José, Manuel Antonio, Drake Bay and Corcovado National Park, Monteverde, La Fortuna and Arenal, along with the muddy climb of Cerro Chato. We were lucky enough to encounter many different species of animals and birds, let alone the stunning forests and tropical plants that make this country such a popular...
Sounds of the Mayan Jungle - Sunset Chorus from El Tintal Pyramid, El Mirador, Guatemala.
Recently I decided to buy a small sound recorder (Sony PCM-A10) along with a pair of stereo external mics (Clippy EM272), inspired by the fantastic work of George Vlad. I tried to record in several locations but only this one made the cut. At first, it seems quite straightforward to record the sounds of nature, but once on location you quickly realize how easy it is to include all sort of noise...
Puffin Rescue in Heimaey - Iceland 2021 4K
Last month I was lucky enough to witness the traditional puffin rescue, which is taking place during the summer months on the island of Heimaey. During the night the small Pufflings are confused by the lights of the town and instead of heading to the sea they end up in people's gardens. The locals are collecting regularly the lost birds, so that they can release them towards the ocean the follo...
The Valley Of Thor - Thórsmörk Iceland 2021 4K
A few shots of my latest visit to the Valley of Thor, one of my favourite places in Iceland. With a friend we went on a hike around some of the highest peaks of the valley. Little did I know how sketchy and dangerous the hike back would turn out, following the sharp ridge all the way back to Volcano Huts. It was really hard to film the last bits so unfortunately there is not much footage of the...
Into The Eruption - Fagradalsfjall July 2021 - Iceland 4k Drone
A short summary of my third visit at the eruption site. This time I was lucky enough to go with my new drone to capture the volcano from the sky. The eruptions happen every 10-15 minutes, so the volcano is currently behaving like a lava geysir. It was such an incredible experience to see something so powerful in real life. Enjoy the hypnotizing view of the flowing lava! Shot on: DJI Mavic Air 2...

amazing vid! what elevation were the first edwardsianas growing on? I'm wondering if this species is more temperature tolerant than I thought
I am not sure of the exact elevation, but I'd say around 2000m and above. I don't personally grow them, but I've heard they might be able to grow in intermediate conditions too
Stunning
Aaah..Brings back memories of my time on Tambuyukon. I think I saw some of those exact plants back in 2014. Very very nice.
Oh wow! who knows how old they might be..it was amazing to see so many untouched and healthy plants!
