RAM UConnect 5 Fail - Stellantis Can't/Won't Repair!

Our RAM has been experiencing a UConnect 5 problem since we have owned it. We had tried multiple dealers to get it fixed under warranty, and now we are out of mileage on the bumper to bumper warranty. Ram Customer Service opened a case, and our case manager said they are closing it and we have to pay out of pocket. #wtf #stellantisfail #ramfail #warrantyfail #uconnect
Flojet Portable Waste Pump Review- The *Dark* Side of RVing!
มุมมอง 1252 หลายเดือนก่อน
Flojet 18555-000A Portable RV Waste Pump review. We always have to dump our tanks, and the ability to do so at home is a plus. We were reluctant to try this since our septic tank is over 100 feet away from our rig. All in all this thing does the job, albeit with additional elbow grease of managing 125 feet of sewer tainted hose. Would we buy it again? Absolutely. We will find a gasket for the p...
RV Dry Rot Repair with The Rot Doctor S1 Epoxy
มุมมอง 292 หลายเดือนก่อน
Well, things happen on the dusty trail, and our last foray into the forest was a self inflicted doozy. We knew our toy hauler had wood damage in this area, and have been monitoring it for years. The straw that broke the camel's back happened four hundred miles from home. Luckily we were able to get home without further damage. But we didn't know have much of this onion needed to be peeled back....
2014 BMW X5 50i Cylinder Wall Damage and Misfire
มุมมอง 162 หลายเดือนก่อน
Misfires are exceptionally common on these coil on plug engines, and ours was due for spark plugs. My wife called about a mile and a half from home saying the check engine light was on. First things first- always check your compression! This cylinder was exhibiting varying compression results, all lower than the adjacent cylinder. A quick look with a bore-scope confirmed the worst case scenario...

Custom Made Butcher Block Island Counter Top
Looking at doing this for my MiniMax Conveggtor. It developed a crack halfway through the flat part, and I'd like to stop it before it becomes two halves.. Online people are saying to use Furnace Cement, but the manufacturer is saying use Refractory Cement, specifically the "Castable" variety which doesn't require heat to cure. I think I'll stick with the regular heat cured Refractory Cement that you used, specifically because the Castable variety is far more expensive and only comes in one size. None of them are food safe, but I don't cook directly on my Conveggtor anyway. How has this held up so far for you?
So far, both Eggs are doing great. I wasn't so concerned about my XL, since it is stationary. Our MiniMax lives in the back of our toy hauler, and has clocked about 2000 miles since the video, so far it is all in one piece! Good luck with your Conveggtor, hopefully the cement is structural enough for that application.
Ball park on how much you spent on everything, including tires and wheels?
At the time filming, I think all of the suspension parts, rims, and tires were about $13,500 with CA sales tax and freight. If you went with something like Innov8 wheels, this could go up substantially. Those are sexy AF, but don't have a higher load rating than the Racelines we bought. This does not include tire mounting or any other labor for install. I pieced as much via DIY as possible.
Definitely give us an update on how the cats like this. I currently have the litter robot and they use it but they definitely need another one
So far so good! Our cats are 15 this year, and our female has been cranky since we adopted our dog a year ago. They are using the litter in the primary box about 50%, and the litter in the additional space about 50%. A least all of their business is in litter, which has dropped the odor significantly.
Don’t know how I ended up here BUT great video and subbed!
Thanks! I need to add my homemade bacon soon :)
Great content. Deserves more views.

How do u like the Amp running boards
The Amp Xtreme are perfect for us! They tuck super high up, and deploy lower than the other models. I just helped install a set on my father in law's 2024 Ram last week. I can be considered a cheapskate in many a context, but I should have bought these from the start.
I’m sure you gotta be pissed. I’m glad you are posting your experience. I’m still hesitant to buy the e venture
Well... yeah in a sense. This should have been taken more seriously, and no one has returned emails from last week in any context. I would be out of business if I did this to my clients. That said, this setup working as intended is the best all around system for my use case.
Who buys RAM or Jeep? Further more who buys these brands and then is surprised by issues to the point of complaining? You're part of the problem for over paying for trash. Congrats!

Care to share the details? We can collaborate on a video to get this to the folks! Weird the dealer couldn't fix it in two weeks...
@@ourfunctionalfarmhouse So I guarantee that the dealer did not do a hard reboot. Only a soft reset.
We will give that a try. The dealer claimed to have a wiring harness and antenna harness on order, we will see what happens.
@@ourfunctionalfarmhouse Great, you can actually hard reset it yourself. I would also turn your phones Bluetooth off. Also, if you have access to the Bluetooth menu in your Uconnect 5, remove every single phone/device in there.
@@RONderluck the hard reset has been completed, and the error message persists. Looks like ours has another issue, and our next dealer appointment is still over the horizon.
I have map and connection issues with my 2023.
Has the dealer made any attempt to diagnose, let alone fix it? I feel like they didn't even make the one repair they claimed.
My 2023 is perfectly fine.
Well, I can sympathize. I had a small peripheral involvement in iDrive. I worked with one of the engineers who implemented that, and I told her how to get it to start fast. I also worked for the company that does/did the current GM system. I don't own one myself, but I've rented a Sierra 1500 and two Suburbans and let my former coworkers know that their system worked great for me. They use a secure embedded operating system that keeps the outside world out of the vehicle network completely. But I own a Grand Cherokee. The infotainment is shit. I drive things until they can't be fixed, so my 2014 Jeep is at 229.000 miles today. The bluetooth eventually connects. It works better if you don't ask it to do anything else, so I use a tablet for navigation, and my phone as a hotspot. There was/is a solution that wedges another computer between the screen and the Stelantis garbage. I don't know if that can be done for yours. Frankly I am surprised you bother with the 'connected' services. In 2018 I crossed the country and though I should buy updated maps for the navigation. When I paid more than an external GPS with frequent map updates would cost I expected current maps. Their latest update in 2018 was 2013 maps. That's the last dollar they got from me. I also had a Ford Expedition for two weeks. I remember when the Ford was just as bad, but Ford fixed their shit. I had low expectations, but had brought my phone and a 64GB USB with music on it. In the past that would choke a Ford, and their Mach system took ages to connect and often had to be restarted by stopping, getting out, closing and locking the car, waiting for the lights on the USB connectors to go out, then starting again. I was shocked when I connected the phone in the rental lot and the music player resumed what I had been listening to on the flight. More shocked when I put the USB drive in and it showed me the contents. Amazed when I had stopped for gas and when I restarted it continued playing from USB within seconds. My Jeep won't do that. Sometimes my jeep won't let me play any audio. I too ran into them online. They haven't answered questions in a decade. I got a call after service and the woman who was talking to me actually admitted that her job was to placate angry customers, but there was actually nothing she could do, and nothing would result from my complaints. All I can say is that I eventually got value from the Jeep. But I won't buy anything else from them.
My U-Connect in my 2012 Jeep Rubicon quit. The GPS just quit working. It tells me how fast I'm traveling but it is not showing map location or altitude. I'm in Erie, PA but the Garmin map says I'm still in Arizona ant he top of the screen says "connecting to sat".
What a bummer! Is there a proposed repair? My archaic Pioneer AVIC N4 worked flawlessly off of DVD data until the player died. That was a sad day.
Hahaha, it’s a Jeep. Enough said.!
Not hitching my wagon to a dead horse.
Amen. That said, if I didn't have a dead horse I wouldn't have any horses at all :D
Bro why in the world are you putting the literal maximum allowable pressure in a 4500 lb rated tire. Like literally what are you doing? No wonder if looks so bouncy.
"Cool story Hansel..." But seriously, thanks for watching! These tires aren't 4500lb tires, they are 3195 at 65psi. You might not know my tongue weight and payload, and towing in states that have prima facia speed limits at 80mph with passing upwards of 90mph, I won't take chances with lower pressures. Good luck in your adventures, don't forget to like and subscribe!
Any gremlins in the r venture yet?
We will be doing a follow up video soon. Mechanically it has been awesome! There is one minor electronic issue we are working with SDi on, and are getting closer to nailing it. All in all, it feels like the best suspension system for our use case.
Great review. I’m thinking of putting that system on my Ram.
Did you pull the trigger? Check out our 6000 mile update!
Seen your review on CJC and went looking for the TH-cam video you promised. Thanks!
Glad you found it! I am thinking about doing a 3000 mile update, I have been towing and off road a lot since the install. Stay tuned
Hi beauty, kiss beauty find out
I really appreciate your video and review. I just picked up a 24' F250 and am seriously considering the Cari E-Venture. As you mentioned, there are not many video reviews of this system by owners. Thanks!
We appreciate you watching! We just returned from another local desert trip, both towing and off roading. The tow setting makes such an impact on comfort, and the baja setting is great for higher speed sections off road. Moving up to 37s was the right choice for us.
Those skies in thumbnail are full of chemtrails. Yuck
We guess our request to Los Angeles Air Route Traffic Control Center didn't go through.
