@willf1sv5 He's got the potential to be a generational talent based on his peaks during 2024 and even 2023. The problem is, he is far too inconsistent in terms of pace relative to the other top drivers. I would agree he's overrated. He performed like an upper midfield driver/number two driver last year.

If Piastri finishes the season 100 points behind Norris again or something like that I would struggle to see why he deserves to keep that McLaren seat. Piastri isn't even in my top 10 final driver rankings of 2024. Norris isn't much higher up.

@willf1sv5 I thought you had Piastri in your top ten, ahead of Hamilton. Did you change your mind? I do feel for Sainz having to go from a top-level team to Williams, who finished 9th in the Constructors'. Based off last season, he was much better than Piastri, Perez and Hamilton and better than Norris and Russell too. No disrespect to Chazza, but said that Sainz was only slightly better than Piastri, which I disagree with. Sainz was more consistent than Piastri, Sainz extracting more performance out of his car and Sainz was closer to Leclerc than Piastri was to Norris. And Leclerc definitely performed at a higher level than Norris too.

​​@@laurierastogi3512 I've actually put Ocon in my top 10. The only reason is Brazil and the fact he was matching Gasly until the summer break. I'm not praising Ocon one bit. I just feel others underperformed more than he did. Appearently Ocon and Gasly were pretty much matched in qualifying and race head to heads battles.

@willf1sv5 I strongly disagree with that. After the summer break, it was difficult to tell how good Ocon was due to Gasly allegedly getting the updates over Ocon, so I wouldn't put him in my top 10.

Wow! I shouldn't really be surprised, he's heading into his 11th year in the sport.

​​@@laurierastogi3512 I was surprised at first but that's because the likes of Bottas, Perez, Ricciardo have all gone at the same time pretty much. Magnussen as well for that matter.

The Williams is slightly underpowered in this game. The Williams drivers usually finish around 13th to 18th in this game and rarely make the top 12.

@@gauravsashikumar692Good question. When I was in Lotus or HRT, I would start from 24th because the Lotus and HRT were on a similar level of performance to the bottom tier of cars. The Force India is much faster than the Lotus, Virgin and HRT cars (the cars which are usually eliminated in Q2), so I thought there was no point in starting last. Plus, I didn’t want to get into a silly collision at the start fighting those cars.

He sounds like he’s biased towards Russell, because he’s discounting all the dips he’s had during the season and he’s going way over the top about some of his performances. I personally think Russell’s being rated in people’s top three due to beating an off form Hamilton and a few of his great drives this season (because he’s had great drives). But people are ignoring his dips. I think Russell should be rated somewhere between 4th and 7th, but no where near the top three. I’ve got him ranked 4th (close with Norris and Hulkenberg respectively) and again, no where near the top three.

​@laurierastogi3512 Bottas had a handful of races where he was decent but other than, dreadful at times. Arguably borderline appalling beating beaten by Zhou in so many races. I didn't even think it was as many as 8 races where Zhou beat him. That bad I lost count. 🙄😂

@@saiyerugara9038 I think you’ve got to be a good F1 driver to have 12 years in F1, 10 wins and 60+ podiums. Even if he was lucky to be picked up by Mercedes and for Rosberg to retire, he deserved to be in F1 and was at times at top 10 driver on the grid.

Fair enough. I just don’t think Ricciardo had it. If he was really that good, he would have scored close to, if not the same amount of points as Tsunoda did.

Racing incident, you misjudged slightly but Vettel did sort of put you into the wall. Problem is the game doesn't give you an option to give a place back, it's just an instant penalty. In my eyes if I steward I would've ordered you to give the place back to Vettel and you finish 2nd and leave it there. Or given you a 5 second penalty, either way it mean you would have finished 2nd. As great as this game is the penalty system has flaws. If you overtake a car off track it's an instant penalty. No opportunity to give the place back, the penalty is applied instantly. They only fixed this for F1 2012.

@laurierastogi3512 Red Bull have arguably had the 3rd best car this season overall so not a chance tbh. Russell was a right complainer in that stewards room 🙄, according to Verstappen (he's never even said anything like this about Hamilton).

​@laurierastogi3512 I'm currently torn between Alonso and Hulkenberg for 4th for me. Russell isn't really really high simply because of his inconsistents and erraticness and times. Along with the fact he's not that many points ahead of Hamilton in the WDC. Bad luck hasn't helped but he's cost himself a lot of results this season tbh.

@@willf1sv5 I think Russell, Hulkenberg, Alonso and Norris have been performing at a similar level this season. At a good level, just not elite I would say.

@laurierastogi3512 I'd be tempted to put Tsunoda into that as well. All of a sudden he starts scoring points again as soon as Ricciardo gets sacked. 85% of the time both Tsunoda and Ricciardo had equal opportunities in races Tsunoda was a lot better overall. Racing Bulls were trying to just make Ricciardo look good I think. 🙄

@@willf1sv5 Tsunoda is 8th for me and kind of close to that group ahead. He might be higher than that had it not been for the bad luck he’s had this year. It’s difficult to know where he would have finished without the favouritism towards Ricciardo. Maybe Tsunoda should have tried to be more assertive on the radio when it came to strategies.

I’ve got to be honest, I didn’t pay too much attention too qualifying, partly because I was recording this episode. I think a penalty of dropping one position is generous. However, the FIA may be taking into consideration Russell wasn’t on a flying lap. But a car at that speed, it’s dangerous

@@willf1sv5 I kind of changed my opinion on the incident now having seen it again. No way is that a penalty. Wasn’t even that dangerous, and Russell wasn’t on a flying lap.

@@willf1sv5 I agree. I would say the Qatar incident is less egregious, because at Japan Norris had to take to the grass and had he spun and crashed, then a penalty may have been handed to Verstappen
