I used to watch btcc religiously during this era. It lost its magic in the 2000's and I gave up on it. This era, was the best in motorsport. I think every petrolhead would know who each driver was and their team. Typical British thinking, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory 🤦‍♂️

Saw Klaus Ludwig , race, these beauties, at Donington Park, in this same year, the zackspeed, capris , blew away all the opposition ! Spitting flames, from twin turbo Ford engines. Was truly great exciting racing, !

They should have kept the BTCC regulations as they were during the 90's. At the turn of the century rules and regulations made it way too expensive for manufacturers and too boring for the audience.

It’s Christmas in 1998, I’m 11yrs old and watching the review of the 98 BTCC season on VHS I was just gifted in my bedroom. Little would I know that this was peak happiness.

The cars looked so damn good! Closest thing to road cars but super supped up to racing trim! Just slammed to the ground. They all looked so good!

Thanks for this wonderful series Ian! BTCC was the best racing action ever, especially in the 80s and 90s! I enjoy watching this way more than GT3s or F1.

The reason for the Renault suspension being so good was that is wasn't within the rules. say no more.. I know cause I was there. These were the days when BTCC was as important to manufacturers as F1, consequently the budgets were enormous , if you were a fan you wouldn't ever see the amount of money or time that actually went into these cars .. I was amazed when I joined one of these teams how advanced and how much technology went into what appears to be something very similar that you can buy. but believe me it wasn't....Good days ..oh and the oil coming out of the Volvo,, it was designed to .I can honestly say that we were probably one of the only Teams that didn't Cheat or bend the rules and were successful. I will always be proud of us . Not Volvo

@ 1:53 Walter war nicht der _Erste_ unter 11 Minuten - er hat als Erster mit weniger als 11 Minuten GEWONNEN. Zanussi war nämlich auch unter 11 Minuten geblieben, und er war ja VOR Walter gestartet.
