Staining and Finishing Pine Windows with Gel Stain

Staining and Finishing Pine Windows with Gel Stain
Really great job!! Where did you get the blade tubes?
I think it was an industrial supply company - I searched the web for plastic test tubes or specimen containers and stumbled upon them. I really like them. Thanks for the comment
how much moisture does the wood retain? why not buy wooden stir sticks or rulers; saves a lot of cutting...
2024
Looks so much better than those 3D printed situations
Wont the moisture in the wood increase the risk of oxidation?
I'm not really sure - I don't notice any more oxidation than in those tools not stored in a wood divider
What happens if stain gets behind the window panels and you can’t get it off? This happened to me and I don’t know how to fix it.
OFF the HOOK Dude..............................Well Done !
What is it without you fucking people making these videos never speak
Beautiful sheen! Nicely done.
Very nice!
love the effort. the sound effects are nauseating

Studley Tool Chest
Where did you get that printout?
Some measurements and a little narration would have been nice. I don't care for videos that have no talk.
Would u suggest pine for outside windows.. ?
A grinder with chucks on the end to adapt different sanding bits. Coooooool !!...... Can you add a grinding wheel and polisher ?
Lovely looking box and I don’t like to nitpick but didn’t some of you hinge screws burst through the inner surface ?
Wow great work. I am just coming to the end of staining and clear coating my pine Marvin windows.. all 21 of them. Your process is a little more involved than mine and it shows ..they look amazing. My steps are 1. Minwax Wood Conditioner 2. Minwax Stain 3. Three Coats Minwax Oil based Spar Urethane (Satin). I am not sure about the splotches I use wood conditioner on my windows and you still get differences in wood tone because ...well its wood.
Great idea, I am currently reorganizing my tools.
your hardware screws were too long...
Great, now you’ve got to buy more pliers. 😂
More chewing please! Man nothing makes me more relaxed than good old el chompo.
WOW, Did I just learn a thing or 10. So much easier, and precise than a jig. Plus you can custom the length so easily. Thanks.
Thank you - much appreciated
Great idea! Now days its cheaper to buy a plier organizer that a sheet of plywood 🤣
Wonderful.
wow i like that
Thanks for the videos! Do you have any more on this project?
Yes - thanks for the nudge
I love this solution
Beautiful
Sharing Measurements Matters.
Wow, what a workshop you have. Had to sell all mine when I sold my house and moved to an apartment. Now my grandson and his wife bought a house with lovely garage. For my birthday I got a lovely new scroll saw from kids and grand kids. He and I have got a few toys too. I’m going to teach him the fun of scroll sawing lol. I’m 70 now and am looking forward to doing this all again. Good precision work you’ve done there. Got many hints from you! 🇨🇦👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My favorite comment this year - hope you make many great pieces in this new chapter
*This stand is perfect for my application🛠️ **allabout.wiki/Pit-Bull** I finally got my grinder off of my bench! I had to drill holes in the top to mount it securely, but I expected that when I bought it. It was a simple build, but the nuts and bolts are a bit tight on the leg interiors. An open-end wrench is needed. Sockets wouldn't fit. It has a small footprint, and fits nicely in a small niche in my garage.*
Gold mate👌💯....can you make me one please💁🏼♂️😃
That's absolutely awesome! That's some beautiful work.
Looks so awesome, great work!
It's like going from the stone age to the space age in one fell swoop! Well done, thanks!!
Woodglut comes with very useful plans with all the details you need.
Awesome job. Where did you get the material for your tablesaw fence?
Thank you - This is the Incra System
Best screwdriver organizer I’ve seen yet. Thanks for sharing.
you prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my gf lately :)
@Makai Victor Yup, I've been watching on Instaflixxer for months myself :D
Sweet!
Why the heck is the saw blade so high... 1/8" over wood only
Nice work.
Well organized and built but this design limits the number of gouges one may accumulate over time. Some very useful storage ideas that I can use since I need storage for chucks, jaws, etc. I like the idea of closed storage to cut down on chips, dust, etc that will collect on open shelves especially around a lathe.
Why are you not using a riving knife on your table saw? It could set a bad example for less experienced diy'ers, and result in workpiece throwback...learning safety the hard way is the worst way. Otherwise a great video.
I’m using a splitter - same thing
Very nice. You could use a stop block on the miter saw to skip the marking step..
Beautiful job bro
Great idea but way too much work. I purchased a handful of aluminum yardsticks at HF for about $1 each and cut them into lengths to fit my draw. Then I drilled a 1/4" hole in each end of them and assembled them with a couple lengths of threaded rod and some nuts I bought by the pound at the farm supply store. Great dividers for the tools at my electronic bench. And as someone else pointed out, the wood spacers take up a lot of space in the drawer. My aluminum yardstick segments are only about 1/8" thick or less so the wasted space is totally minimal. And yes, the slots filled up all too quickly. But HF still sells the aluminum yardsticks and I have more drawers. The best part is the look on the cashier's face as you walk out with a dozen aluminum yardsticks after asking when they will restock.
What is the product you applied to keep the stain off the glass, Liquid Mask? If not a link to what you used would be great. And if so, any videos on using that on bare wood to be stained or advice on using?
Was a new window probably bud some new windows come with a film over glass for shipping and storage purposes
lebruh thats like the worst way to store planes it just takes up to much space
I think it looks very nice
