Discovery Channel series from 1995. Unfortunately the first minute or so is missing.
Northwest-Airlines were existing that time.....
Thanks for your comments!
The first class than looks like the economy plus today....But anyways. It's my favorite plane and the most beautiful ever built!
I appreciate and I love the queen of the skies!
Thanks for that! Me too.
Are there still any 747s still flying
Quote from Simpleflying.com:- "Despite the end of Boeing's 747 program, there are still 50 active passenger aircraft operated by five airlines. Air China, Korean Air, Lufthansa, Asiana Airlines, and Saudia will continue to offer regular flights with the 747 through 2024. Asiana Airlines is set to retire its 747 later this year, while Lufthansa's older 747-400s are likely to be retired in late 2025." These days I think the 787 Dreamliner is the flavour of the month. ATB and thanks for your message.
What a great docu! Unfortunately they don't make these kind of TV programmes anymore. It is nice to see a KLM 747 with the old livery as a proud Dutchmen.
Thanks for your very interesting comments!
I remember these as a kid growing up north of Kastrup (CPH) they would fly over our house on their way to Norway to Oslo or Bergen. They were incredibly noisy compared to other planes post 2000s
Thanks for your very interesting comments! In my young days, we lived near Northolt, West London, and I would watch Constellations, Dakotas, Vikings and Ansons coming and going. This was before Heathrow existed, so I'm talking about the early 1950s. Happy plane-spotting days!
lol... most of man where told it was flat by the church he did not think it
That Golombek guy sounds like Processor Frink from the Simpsons. Lol
Esta muy bueno esta documental de una gran Aeronave única y Veloz
Gracias por tu Interés!
Very beautifull
Great stuff, thank you! As a Swede, I’m sad to see the end of SAS as we know it after maaany years of financial struggle.
You're welcome!
Wow. I can't find this documentary anywhere. Thanks for the upload! Love just diving into these older, si-fi mystery shows. I grew up on that.
You're welcome! This is from an old VHS tape that I took off-air many years ago, can't remember the exact year but Graham Hancock and Erich von Däniken certainly look very youthful in this!
These are cool wee bite size videos, thanks for uploading 🫶
Thanks for your interest!
Why would people go underground? To escape a weather event, either heat or cold.
.. solar flare, gamma burst, radiation of all sorts... I wouldn't want to be up top then.
lolol mayans were flat earthers... 🙋🤦🤷
This is bull***. Why not do some real research on the Maya. The symbol "alphabet" was deciphered many years ago and doesn't mention "visitors from other planets", extraterrestrials, or any other of this crap. Incas were on a whole different continent and much later in time, von Dankiken was a convicted swindler who wrote his book in a Swiss jail while doing time for fraud and was previously a hotel concierge and no professional archeologists give credence to ANY of these theories.
I think is not fact
Not every day was a six sector day, most were three, four or five. And that little dark blue one when the guy started on about second hand jets? That was one of mine.
Thanks for your very interesting comments!
SAS DC-9 my childhood friend...♥
The design to avoid deep stall had nothing to do with the engines or tailplane, it was those tiny little winglets just underneath the wing jutting toward. Those are vortex generators that provide high energy air only outboard of the wing that happens to be behind the centre of gravity, this basically pushes the nose down as the angle of attack increases to the point that even if you were silly enough to hold the stick fully back the aircraft would not enter a deep stall and elevator authority is maintained.
Thanks for your very interesting comments!
Very good docu!
Thanks for that. It's a pity that nobody has ever revived it with more up-to-date aircraft.
@@882886The A320 isn't changed much.
Ohh, I love those furry seats the drivers sit in, I bet they are so comfy when they drive them planes all over the world
Thanks!
Trust me, they’re not.
I remember seeing this on TV years ago, nice to come across it again
Thanks for that. Discovery have an episode list on their website, but sadly, there is no live link.
Thank you for uploading this series. Watched it back in the day and it helped inspire me to learn to fly.
That's great! My nephew also liked these programmes and he became a senior administrator at Gatwick.

Again, thank you so much for uploading. Really appreciate it 👍🏻
Thank you for uploading……I loved this programme and I’m so happy to see it again 👍🏻
You're very welcome! One of my all-time favourites also. The episode list is showing on Discovery's website, but there is no live link which is a great shame. I'll dig out the rest of my old VHS episodes - 747-400, Dornier 328, Challenger 604, and last but not least, Concorde.
SAS 💙✈️🤗
Thanks!
SAS 💙✈️🤗
I was fortunate to work on those 40 series in the 90s when they returned to the US straight from SAS. I had never seen, to this date, airplanes so clean and so well maintained. They were all converted to cargo in minimal time, and I doubt any of them survives. But I was very impressed compared to US operated airplanes that had to be almost completely stripped down. Still have pictures of those -40s. Great version of an even greater airplane.
Thanks for your very interesting comments!
I worked for SAS in the 90s. The airline is fastidios when it comes to maintenance
The DC-8 was built like a tank. The DC-9 was a classic. The DC-10 was an unflightworthy shitbox that violated every precept of fail-safe redundant design
Thanks for your very interesting comments!
Totally agree!
Wrong on so many levels
Thank you for these videos!!!
You're welcome - these were converted from VHS some years ago - I will look for more episodes!
