Maserati’s are phenomenal cars - all these haters have no fucking clue about these cars. I have a modified 2006 GranSport and it’s glorious. Haters - go buy a well maintained one, understand the marque, then come back to me.

Definitely….. I purchased a spanking brand new Black EP3 in 2004 when I was contracting on the Rails up in London at 34 years of age. Sold that in 2009 and had a couple of your standard Honda family hatchbacks up until 2019 and then came the divorce. Now I own a white FK8 and it’s about as fast as you’ll ever need.
I’ve owned my modified 2006 Maserati GranSport - there’s nothing like a Maserati…people hate on them because they have no clue how to maintain them or how to drive them. If you want to be boring - buy a silver German car with ZERO personality. Don’t go out and buy a cheap Maserati and then bitch because your a cheap ass or the previous owner was a cheap ass then post on some gay ass social media…buy the best one you can afford, maintain it…then brag about it. These are great cars!

You can see people turning round with that WTF look on their faces. It sounds immense. Don’t think I could use it as a daily though as it just seems too ridiculously loud and obnoxious. I know that when a car that loud drives past anyone the first thing out of their mouths is “What a 🔔end” and who could blame them. The beeping would annoy the 💩out of me along with all the pissy things that stop working like the speedo or the passenger door actuator and 💩like that. At the same time though I know that driving that would put an absolutely stupid smile on my face😁

Hi, I am currently looking to buy a 2007/2008 (and onwards) Quattroporte series V with the ZF gearbox. Can I ask you what exhaust system is on this car that you reviewed? I understand that it is the duo-select version that you tested so it may not be compatible, but it would be great to know who designed it and where it was purchased. Thanks!! @CARpeDM! EPIC video! Great to hear that you enjoyed the video! It is a full larini exhaust system with sports cats. They sound epic in person however the do cost a lot!

Get a Hondata ECU and get it remapped to 240bhp with lower vtec engagement, trust me, you will not regret it
I have in my garage a 2006 Black Type R EP3 Civic with 55K..I have air cooled garage with this and a MK2 MR2...these cars are iconic in their own right A great car the Civic and my god does it love the revving..I took it for a service and the mechanics all wanted to drive it..I let one with me in it and his eyes lit up changing gears like a kid in a sweet shop 👍🤜🏽
Good car, but was chanceless due to far too high pricing to the competition. Here in Sweden it was $2500 more than the equivalent Audi A4, which was better built, better equipped, classier and quicker. This along with British reputation of reliability, and a widely unknown brand, unlike Jaguar for instance. If it, like the ZS at British pricing, was a cut price performance alternative with such looks to match, I bet it'd be an instant hit.

You'll eat clutches with those changes... I'm looking right now for one, but the ZF box.
You are correct - the Formula Dynamics drive by wire enhancement will help with that…he’s also not driving the car correctly.
Drive on manual sport mode and the clutch will last 60k+ miles. My 05 Quattroporte has 62k miles on the original clutch. You should be a manual driver to drive and enjoy this brilliant unappreciated masterpiece.

If anyone is considering buying a 139 shape your best going for the ZF gearbox version. The F1 gearbox requires too much effort and almost ruins the car.
I had one of these about 8 years ago. Last week I just bought a new shape QP on a 14 plate. It's the 3.8 v8 version. Build quality of the new shape is much better its more like a German car. That been said the sunroof just broke on it!

Good choice with Puccini's 'Nessun dorma' from Turandot. And even more inspired was the choice of Luciano Pavarotti's rendition; becasue, Pavarotti was a longstanding Maserati driver. He was ofetn seen driving a Quattroporte III. He was also friednly with Enzo Ferrari. Both were born in the Modena area. It is said that Enzo wanted to be an opera singer.

Massive 8.3 liter engine also means a lot of mass to accelerate/decelerate on each stroke. 1 m long crankshaft surely doesn't help the revs either.

The fuel level dropped carefully imo, but this has 8 gears, a V16, a hybrid system, and only 1001 hp...........

the engine its self has 1001 hp but the hybrid battery adds like 800 or smt

Cool emotions out of the video👍, in Maserati Granturismo S you get this gearbox, exhaust and engine already up to scratch without necessity to tune it, though its more expensive
And what the visceral expression of this modified QP reminds me, the freeky Ferrari 599 GTO, that features the latest gen of this robot gearbox, and high pitch screamy V12. Here you get it for a fraction of a fraction of the cost..... sounding and expressing the physics of the powertrain in very close way 😮

@@CARpeDM. Turn out their engines are quite simple. The parts are expensive. Under the assumption that one has the workshop and time, it could be possible to mechanically maintain this car to a substantial degree. Despite parts being expensive, a quick online search shows extensive aftermarket and OEM suppliers. Electronics though and interior - that requires a different touch. It is nice to fantasize about having this car in a garage or a parking lot. Maybe one day. Maybe never. Then again, this is why there are videos - to share this joy, no matter how short-lasting it may be :D

i checked 6 gear shifts doesnt it have eight i guess they are not showing full power??
It has 6 gears, you can clearly see the speed clock going slower at the 440 mark
