Little Bald Rock Bushwalk
On our second hike of the day we head out to Little Bald Rock. Most of this hike is along a fire trail, but there was plenty of bird life and flowers to see to make it interesting. Once at the base it was a short climb up through some boulders to the summit where we could get some beautiful views of South Bald Rock and across to Girraween NP. After soaking in the views for awhile we head back down and back along the track to the carpark. Total distance was 7.2km.

Climbing The Pyramid & Granite Arch Tracks In Girraween National Park
มุมมอง 61ปีที่แล้ว
On this trip to Girraween National Park I hike a number of tracks. This is the first 2 tracks of the day and the steepest climb up to the summit of the Pyramid. The circuit track to Granite Arch comes off the Pyramid track and rejoins it a little furhter along making it a good side track to add. The track up to the summit is very steep, but I took it slowly and at anytime you can turn around an...
Moto Ride To Find The Keyman Statue And I Crashed My Bike
มุมมอง 131ปีที่แล้ว
On this adventure I head out on my enduro motorbike to find the Keyman Statue in Barcoongere State Forest that I had heard about. The tracks in this State Forest are pretty fun to ride. I also head over to Station Creek Campground for a look around, before heading back home. I see a side track that looks like it will be fun to ride and head down it. It’s pretty rough and has some steep erosion ...
Hiking The Spectacular Bald Rock Summit and Bungoona Circuit Track

Join me and my wife on the first hike we did on our wedding anniversary trip. We hike up to the summit of Bald Rock in the Bald Rock National Park. This park is situated just north of Tenterfield, NSW right on the Qld/NSW border. We added the Bungoona circuit to the summit track as well for a total of 4.2km. The 360 degree views at the top were amazing and provided me with a great view of some ...
Multi-Day Hike of the Guy Fawkes River Wilderness Walk - Day 3
มุมมอง 300ปีที่แล้ว
Day 3 of this adventure started with an early morning wake up in the dark. After a coffee and packing up camp we head back to the start of Jordan’s Trail and psych ourselves up for the big slog back up to the escarpment. It is a heart pumping, leg burning 800 metres of elevation over 5.6km of track. We sure were happy when we got to the top of this climb, but it wasn’t all bad. The views throug...
Multi-Day Hike of the Guy Fawkes River Wilderness Walk - Day 2
มุมมอง 304ปีที่แล้ว
Day 2 of our adventure on the Guy Fawkes River Wilderness Walk started with some coffee and breakfast while warming up next to a hot fire. Temperatures didn’t get to below freezing like we were expecting but were still cool at around 3 degrees Celsius. After packing up and extinguishing the fire we headed off back upstream the way we had come from the previous day. The mist along the creek was ...
Multi-Day Hike of the Guy Fawkes River Wilderness Walk - Day 1

On this adventure my friend Keith and I head to Guy Fawkes River National Park up on the NSW New England Tableland for a 3 day hike of the Guy Fawkes River Wilderness Walk. It was a cold winter’s morning with ice on the picnic tables at the campground where this track starts, but before long we were hiking and warming up. We stopped in to see the amazing views from Lucifer’sThumb Lookout before...

Red Cedar Falls Day Hike With My Wife In Dorrigo National Park
มุมมอง 162ปีที่แล้ว
On this adventure my wife and I head west from Coffs Harbour up the range to the spectacular Dorrigo National Park yo go hiking. We decided on the Red Cedar Falls track as it takes you to the largest falls in the park. The track is 4km each way to to get to the bottom of the falls. It is an amazing waterfall to view with a small pool of water at the bottom which would be enough to get wet in, b...

Join me as I solo hike the Woolpack Rocks Track in the amazing Cathedral Rocks National Park. This park is situated inland from Coffs Harbour up on the New England Tableland in NSW, Australia. This track starts at the Native Dog Campground which is located just off the main road between the towns of Ebor and Guyra. I didn’t have any huge expectations of this track as I hadn’t done much research...

How many KM of the walk is along the national park access road? I want to ride it on a bike :)
It’s approximately 5km or so of nice clear track on Robinsons Knob Track but one you turn onto Grasstree trail it’s very overgrown and a lot of vines, branches and trees across the track so it would not be suitable for bike from there. It doesn’t get maintained very much once you get off Robinsons knob track, there’s definitely a good reason why it’s called the Wilderness Walk.
Great job 👍
Hi mate, I loved the video. Is there any chance I could have a chat about this hike with you?
Man you looked shattered…..great effort mate
Yeah it was definitely a hard way to get to Rat a Tat Hut. Much easier to go from Oreillys out to there.
Great video.... what time of year did you do the hike?
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. We did this hike at the start of June.
nice one was good to see that section .
Is a shame you had to call it off but understandable . I hope to see yas back there . I am thinking about doing the same trip , just need to find out some more info before taking the plunge
Hope to do this circuit tomorrow morning. Looking forward to it. Good video mate 👍
Thanks. Yeah it’s definitely a great track. Will be looking great after all the rain too.
@@OutdoorHikingTherapy Literally just finished, took 4 hours from the Binna Burra carpark . Views were amazing, alot better than I expected. Saw my first blue crayfish, but also a black snake near the cave. Really recommend the walk 👍
Can u see mt warning
Nice to hear the birds
It's nice to hear the cat bird
Did u hear any lyrebirds
No unfortunately didn’t come across any lyrebirds on this trip.
Beautiful national national park
Nice
plenty of hikers during a winter snowfall up there in the mountains. How many days does the snow hang around for?
Yeah there was quite a few people up there for the snow. Unfortunately it usually only lasts for a day or 2 before it’s all melted.
I bet it was chilly
Yeah it was a bit cool. Got down to around 3 degrees overnight.
Bald Rock is one of my favourite places, although last time I was there I found it a bit of a struggle to get to the top.
Yeah it’s a great spot hey. The track up is definitely pretty steep.
Never done it before
It’s a beautiful spot. Especially the slab rock section which gives some amazing views.
that gives me an Idea for a gaming desk :)
Looks awesome! You done the Macleay river much? Were looking at the Georges junction to Kempsey trip, trying to work out how long it would take.
Thanks, yeah that was a great run down the Bellinger with some good flow. I’m sorry but I haven’t done any of the Macleay river so I can’t help you out with any info. There is a Facebook group called “Paddlers Mid North Coast” on Facebook. If you add yourself to the group I’m sure there’s plenty of people that could give you some info on there. 😊
@@OutdoorHikingTherapy legend, thanks, I'll join that group. Looking forward to your next video!
@@ashpowell9451 no worries, let me know how you go on your trip
hey did you find out any info about the Georges junction to Kempsey trip
@@BushKayakersCampingAustralia yeah it's a long trip, haha. I was told about 7 days. I was also told the lower section nearer the coast is kind of boring and can be hard work on the paddles too, so when I get around to planning I'll just be going from George's to some random point that I think we can make in 2-3 days.
That was great to have your son help. Years later he will do a project and this moment will give him confidence
did lucifers thumb a year or so ago and remember seeing horse crap all the way up the track. took me a bit to realise they were wild! i was thinking who the hell takes there horse up here... do you think that river would be packraftable at all?
There wasn’t any horse crap on the track to Lucifer’s thumb that we saw this time, we only saw it once we were down in the valley. The river was pretty shallow in some places but I reckon it would be doable in a pack raft. It’s the same river that comes past Ebor and there’s usually a consistent amount of water coming down from there.
Good excises
Wheres is it
It is in Lamington NP
Ok never been there
@@carolynharbottle-jj4rb it’s pretty much all off track to get there and extremely sketchy in places so it’s not walked very often. The actual summit also has no views at all so it’s not that popular.
Outdoorr-Like! perfect video, I'll be back!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching
Look nice... which state forest is that?
It’s actually 2 that are next to each other - Bucca State Forest and Wedding Bells State Forest.
Wow, such a gorgeous and picturesque place my friend. This looks amazing! 🙌🏻🔥
Thank you. Yeah I definitely enjoyed this hike a lot.
Looks great out that way recovering well, I spent a night there before the fires but we didn't see any view through the fog and rain so was good to see what you got in clearer weather
Sorry you didn’t get any views when you were there. I was very lucky to get a good weather window for some amazing views and the eagles were just superb to watch. I was quite surprised to get the summit to myself considering it was a Sunday.
Absolutely beautiful place and so lovely walking tour, simply enjoyable content.
Yes it’s pretty special there. Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
I remember going there years ago. I should go back again. Amazing seeing a lyrebird so close. Cheers.
Yeah it’s definitely a great Park. I was quite surprised the lyrebird let me get so close too. I’m guessing it’s used to people as it was on the track to the main lookout. Was really cool getting to see it. They have quite a healthy population of lyrebirds up there apparently.
Another great video OHT. Are you using a gimbal as the video is so smooth?
Thanks mate. No don’t use a gimbal, just my GoPro 8. It has some pretty amazing stability control in it. I can take footage while riding off-road on my enduro motorbike and it comes out stable. Not sure how it does it, but it work’s perfectly.
Some stunning hikes there and amazing scenery. I've never been there yet. Thanks so much for showing this👍👍
Yeah it’s definitely an underrated park. It doesn’t get the same amount of attention that its neighbor Dorrigo NP gets, but that’s not always a bad thing. Thanks for watching.
Good to see you uploading a new vid Ben. Nice work mate! Can't beat the Aussie rainforests and those cascades! Good job mate. And yes bush walking is great for the soul and mental health. Cheers, Parko.
Thanks mate, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah was great to get out in nature and sit beside a beautiful creek. Can’t beat it.
good to see you back at it
Thank you. 😊
it's a big one.. a friend just did this hike a few weeks back and made it to the bottom... lyrebirds are awesome to witness in nature =).. I was fortunate enough to find see two up close when I was in the Blue mountains.
Yeah it’s definitely a decent size waterfall. Would be amazing to get to the bottom but I wasn’t sure if it was possible, obviously it is. I will have to go back and see if I can get down there too. I’m guessing it will be off track. Blue mountains is a spot that I have been wanting to go check out. Amazing that you got to see a couple of lyrebird’s up close. I once came across one on a track that was going through its repertoire of bird calls, was fascinating to watch.
Great to have OHT back. Great video and edit. The falls had a long drop and were worth the effort I'm sure 👍
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah it’s definitely a long drop off the escarpment.
A couple of mates and myself did this paddle after a decent Bello flood in 1996 in an18 foot Canadian open canoe...got tipped out almost immediately at the 'Thora Roarer' but good fun after that...just past that big rock wall on the right (which wasn't there then) we encountered a rather beautiful naked hippy girl trying to cross over to Somerville's road...we thought it our duty to wait so she could get across safely which she did carrying her possessions in a plastic bag...the trip took us about 45 minute so the river was running well...
Sounds like you guys had a good day. Of course you had to make sure the girl got across the river without drowning. True gentleman. 🤣
Nice work
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed the video.
What an amazing gorge! Wonderful video. Crow✌️
This is the best way to build with the curve bottom and back. I would not waste my time with straight bottom and straight back. Great build. God bless. Now that’s a project I’m gonna get on. I’ve set in both but this is most comfortable style. If I build one my wife will want 4…😂….now I find the sub button for you. Subscribed….!
Yes I agree. The curved back and seat bottom are much more comfortable. Thanks for watching and for the sub.
The area wasn’t bush everywhere in 1900. This area was settled in the 1830s, when the town of Kempsey was established. Towns and villages on the coast followed soon after. In other words, there’d been European civilisation and towns in the area for at least 70-80 years before 1900.
Great job
Thank you.
great trip! Thank you very much.
what a tremendous feat! Kudos to you Sir! That is a monumental achievment. I have tried that trek three times- including one time when I went up the Throakban Side and nearly died (so, so, stupid!) and another time following the shelf high on the side of the Lost World where we got destroyed by Gympie gympies and turned back sore. I knew it was theoretically able to be done but I have never met anyone other than my Dad and Ross Stephens who used to own the farm at the end of the Kerry Valley, who could say they have done it and they did it in the 1980's/ They are probably two of the most experienced walkers I have ever met. I am so glad you posted this, I am going to have to go back and give it one more crack!

This is in Northern New South Wales in Australia. It most definitely is beautiful countryside.
Very nice job 😊👍🌷
Thank you. I’m glad you like it.
This is great, thanks for sharing. I'm currently building up my kit in prep for my first ever outing so this was really helpful. I've watched a few of your vids now and they're great, particularly because they're local! Do you have any vids of your setup once you've arrived for the night? I haven't seen any that show that yet.. thanks in advance and thanks for your videos 👍
Thanks mate. I’m glad the videos are helping you. No sorry I don’t really have any videos of my camp being setup, but thanks for the idea. Might do one of those soon.
Nice one now I know what to expect!
You’re welcome. It’s easily doable in a white water kayak, not so much in a fishing kayak. But it’s very easy to line your boat down the right hand side to bypass the Thora Roara rapid.
Great video love to trek up there when our fitness is better.
Thanks mate. Yeah it’s definitely a very beautiful spot.
