@@KenanTurkiye I took the info from urbanrail.net. There it's called a heritage T2 tram. Also, it's pretty common in some of the Western countries to call historic streetcar lines "heritage" ones. It defines synonymously as "historic" (but not "old") ))

@@rideurbanrail ''Old'' is not a derogatary term, in an effort to steer away from that I realize you may have opted for ''heritage''. Many ''western'' countries you speak of use such a term because they too make small mistakes in the english lang. However, ''western'' countries that do speak eng. would better understand the term 'historic'', but this doesn't mean ''heritage'' is too far off target.

@KenanTurkiye The issue is that the language is constantly evolving. Moreover, English has separate branches depending on the county (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, etc.). The term "heritage" is mainly used in American English. There are many streetcars lines (renewed or reinstalled) called "heritage". So, that is a common word to apply for historic railway lines. I'm not sure about British English or other versions. I am a translator myself - can talk forever about languages )

And certainly languages do evolve and present regional changes, my contention wasn't in disregard of these facts. However, things need to be quite old to be considered a ''heritage'', for example when an automobile is to be considered antique it needs to be at or past a certain age. To my eyes that tram is an old/historic tram, where as the tram in Istanbul Taksim IS a heritage tram dating over 100 years. I hope that's more clearer. Best wishes.

The entire subway pattern among all Commonwealth countries was originally adopted from London which is a pioneer in the world of subways. There are other subway "schools" in the world. One of the most interesting ones is the Soviet where the stations were built as marble palaces. Also, they are buried much deeper in the ground. The deepest station in the world is Arsenalna in Kyiv, Ukraine.

@rideurbanrail All true. Though I think that the proximity and similar weather of NYC were big factors in the design of the 1st TTC line. Certainly, the subway cars today of each both look similar - like large breadboxes!
