I'm struglling ro make enough ale, I have 900 people city 6 malthauses and 6 or 7 breweries but still not enough ale, barley supply is also always at 80-100
@@JonnyTheRevelator seems like you need more malthouses, and put the storage/ tavern/breweries/malthouses close together. Maybe also add a 2. Tavern and put overstock to 20. If you always have barley, they are not prossesed fast enough in some way..I have a dedicated storage for only malt,/barley/ale
Interesting to see how many farmers you need per field and how to get everything running on time and harvested with crop rotation. Still haven't nailed that ...
I belive its around 1 family each Morgan. But i usually have more people to be safe. In the next video, you see how bad not limit the workplace for farmers :P
@solhoot yeah that sounds about right... I was playing with it and found that ten families with ten oxen were able to clear 8.5 one morgan sized fields during harvest season. (Too bad September is a short month! Lol) I then upped the number of fields and families and 26 families with 26 oxen cleared only 14 one morgan sized fields. So there was some diminishing returns on the larger setup. The setup was 21 fields all long and skinny and all exactly one morgan in size. Since there are seven levels of priority I had three fields on each level, highest to lowest priority interspersed between the 13 farmhouses. I think the inefficiencies might come from "the hoard" of workers going through the fields and harvesting the crops and the people in the back of the group don't get to do much because the people in the front of the group extract most of the crops. I will test that theory by seeing what happens if I eliminate the priority settings and so the harvest is slower but more evenly spread across the different fields. Harvesting in time is tricky but At least plowing isn't an issue! Lol 😆 😆 😆

@solhoot update! Yes I tested the setup again as described above and I was totally right the bottleneck was the prioritisation of the fields. The only thing I changed was to make all fields "medium" priority. This way all the workers came and harvested the fields as if they were one giant field and they got all the crops harvested by Sept 30 (on normal game speed). That's 2400 crops harvested from 21 fields by 26 families with 26 oxen (two families each in 13 farmhouses). They even got most of it out of the rain as the setting was on difficult weather and it was raining the whole time, ended up with about 2100 crops after double spoilage and weathering... That is a big difference from only harvesting 14 fields with the HOARDS... 😂

I applaud your talent to make your town/villages somehow so simetry and aesthetic, very nice to look at not only from drone pov, but also very comfy for npcs. Ngl, I feel kinda bad for the de-forestation, since trees makes environment looks beautiful, serenity, and green. I can't wait for the next episode, that cliff rock is perfect for the castle towers and manor building 😊

Hello, maybe you can try using the tradepost as a drop-off point for those barters. Those tradeposts are built at the boundary of the regions. Then these barters will drop those items in those tradeposts. In this way, your granary or storehouse workers can then move these items to granaries and storehouses downtown. This might be a better option.
In this way, you can control which item is stored in which granary/storehouse. I think this is better.

@@solhoot I have not tried it yet. What I am now doing is using inter-region trade by tradepost and then let warehouse/granary workers move these items. I think a pantry of 500 may be enough because it is intermediate and warehouse/granary workers will move them very quickly. If a pantry of 500 is not enough, you can build several tradeposts at the boundary. It only costs 4 timber each, which is not expensive.

@solhoot theoretically, if you design the town so that the pack station workers drop off the charcoal at a trading post (instead of a storehouse), and you purchase a trade route for charcoal, you can sell up to 600 charcoal a year (assuming the trader comes once a month) without even assigning a family in the trading post. It would be an interesting challenge to see if you could do an entire playthrough with no families assigned to trading posts... idk if it would actually work... 🤔

Are you on the main branch now? I noticed the overstock feature is working but the granary and storehouse workers are stealing the overstock amount and bringing it back to the buildings. Do you see anything like that? I just turn off overstock...

Nice! Looks like farming suffers from the high population but everything else working good? Even ale? How many years is that? Beautiful design!
Everything works fine at 1x speed. I startet importing wheat when i did see bread go down little and did the same with Barley. Just a smal number. I have done this before and works really good. Ale is at 100 % in the end, but ofc it can drop down sometimes. The city ended year 30 :)

Hello. Thank you for the helpful video. Can you answer one question I have, which I haven't been able to figure out. In bigger cities, sometimes one marketplace is too far from certain houses/burgage plots, which causes unsatisfied needs and reduced approval. I tried building a second marketplace closer to the more distant houses, but I couldn't find any way to relocate already existing food/goods stalls, or telling the granary workers to open new food stalls at the new marketplace. How can this be solved?
@@CaHgO thank you. You left click the stall you wanna move, than click the relocate icon and move it to new location. You can also destroy your old marketplace and make it smaller. (This will cause chaos for the approval for a while ) Or you can add more grannary / storage workers to fill up the first marketplace.
@@solhoot I tried doing the relocate option, but what happens (latest patch) is the old one is removed, goods are left on the ground. A new stall appears, but for some reason it says "abandoned" and it does not function and the goods are not transported there and are left to spoil. So this is obviously not working. I tried adding more granary/storage workers, but they just continue to set stalls on the initial marketplace, which is far from the houses who are complaining have no access to food/goods. Even though the original marketplace has plenty of already existing stalls.
@@CaHgO I havent tested moving stalls after recent patch. You should go to Manor lord discord. There you have Manor-Lords- Help community and alot of other things . Ask there. Its really alot of helpful people on that Discord :)
@@CaHgO My understanding is that it remains abandoned until they move the stuff off of the ground, if this isnt the case then the stall cant be rebuilt due to not having any resources to put into it(usually bc theyre on the ground and they take a minute to move). Sometimes ill unclick the market stall button in the building it is in and reclick it. Idk if that works just a precaution.

@solhoot I find this build interesting because I always tend to build forwards, but you are building backwards, in the sense that you think about what you want to end up with and build to that rather than just quickly putting up what you need for the approval. I try to do that but I think I need to just get the build order down first then make a city in another location, like you did on the hill, and start from scratch once my original town is stable. This should make the design much more purposeful and more aesthetic ✨️ 👌 ... like this build you did... 😃 😊
@ Yeah. I usually plan the almost whole region of the main town even before i start. But ofc plans can change while i play. I build plenty of towns where everything is a mess, because i build what i need closest. When you plan big, things can be slow in the start. But thats okey. And This is no fighting, so i have all the time i need ;)

I have an issue my last region I took over I got distracted by other things and my 5 families all left with 15% like and 0 population can you recover or do I need to restart? Or load an old save if I have one

The bug of tavern was fixed just now in 0.8.024. Now multiple taverns take effect and will not steal from each other. That's good news!

I agree with the person above i really like your symmetrical design without being on grid based roads. You have a great abstract eye to be able to do that while still maintaining flow through the cities. The building alignment along the shoreline of the island was very nicely done.
