MY FIRST TIME IN SWITZERLAND🇨🇭 travel vlog | Lucerne visual diary | a dream come true
How I spent 2 days in Lucerne Switzerland (prices included) ~
Welcome to Part 1 of my Switzerland visual diary in Lucerne!
🇨🇭Detailed description ~
This is my first time travelling to Switzerland! I will be sharing a whole bunch of cool scenic ideas that you can also consider adding to your Switzerland itinerary if you find them useful!
This video covers our itinerary and plan around the Lucerne area in Switzerland, and it includes day trips from Lucerne to really scenic and amazing spots.
We started the trip at Zurich airport, after landing we headed straight to the nearby Migros supermarket to get some ready-to-eat food from the convenience section. We then boarded the train from Zurich to Lucerne (or Luzern, which is German for Lucerne).
For first time visitors to Switzerland, the public transport system was incredibly easy to navigate using both Google maps and the SBB app. We took a bus from the main train station to our Airbnb which was located conveniently a couple of stops away.
For 3 days and 2 nights, accomodations cost us $346 SGD
### Day 1 - Lucerne Old Town & Stanserhorn
We got on a short train ride to Stans, heading to the Stanserhorn which we found to be free to visit as long as you have a valid Swiss Travel Pass. It had some of the most amazing 360-degree views of the entire region including views of Mount Pilatus and Titlis which are also really popular destinations in the region.
Taking the funicular up to the peak of Stanserhorn, it also has a restaurant where you can dine at for some authentic Swiss food which we thought were relatively quite affordable too.
We ended day 1 of the trip exploring the Old Town of Lucerne, one of the prettiest and charming towns I’ve seen.
### Day 2A: Mount Titlis & Lake Trubsee
We started the day super early and was able to freely explore the famous Chapel Bridge in Lucerne. It is known to be incredibly crowded and busy in the day, but very peaceful and there were no crowds when you visit it in the early morning (nice hack!! hahaha)
An important tip for travelling to Switzerland is to always check the weather before going to your planned destinations. There are live webcams on their websites.
Mount Titlis was extremely clear today, with almost perfect visibility and no clouds, so we chose to travel there. A great alternative would be Mount Pilatus as well!
From the Lucerne main train station, we took a train to the Alpine town of Engelberg, and then a short bus ride to the foot of Mount Titlis. Then, multiple cable cars including a the Rotair, a rotating cable car with 360-degree views of the surroundings.
We had incredibly CRISPY views of the surrounding mountain ranges and everything was clear as it could possibly get from up there! very very lucky
There were also several attractions at the top including a cliff walk along a suspension bridge, a chairlift, and also a visit to the ice-cold glacier cave.
Coming down from Titlis we arrived at Lake Trubsee, with a beautiful turquoise colour. A super peaceful and family friendly spot where you could rent boats or just bask in the sun with cowbells in the distance. There were many people enjoying some family time together along the lake.
Everything costed us 48 CHF per person.
### Day 2B: Stoos & Fronalpstock
We visited the beautiful car-free town mountain village of Stoos, also included in the Swiss Travel Pass.
We headed to the Stoosbahn, the world’s steepest funicular ride to the village of Stoos. And then a chairlift from Stoos to Fronalpstock for an incredible sunset view.
Normally, people would go on the really popular Stoos Ridge Hike to/from Fronalpstock and Klingenstock. However we didn’t have enough time to complete the hike. On Saturdays, the chairlift from Stoos to Fronalpstock has extended opening hours for visitors to head to Fronalpstock during sunset times.
Be sure to check this out if you are visiting Stoos on a Saturday!

Yes
I watched your TH-cam video. Your every video is really awesome. But your channel and your videos expect more views and subs. I analyzed Your TH-cam channel and I found TH-cam video SEO is not done. This is why your video is not going viral and views are not increasing.

Hi is data science predominantly a Math and Statistics field with a sprinter of CS involved. So u just need to be good with ur Math and Stats on order to do data science.

Hi im also a data scientist based in Singapore, but my role focuses more on machine learning predictive modelling.
Wow! Very informative
Hi I have been working in the data science and Machine Learning field for nearly 3 years but I recently got retrenched. I have been on the lookout for another job in a simillar role. I feel it has been more difficult to get a job in this field nowadays due to the intense competition. Do u have any advice?
Hi so sorry to hear about your retrenchment. I would advise to just continue enhancing your skills and stay updated through either online courses or just reading articles on the latest advancements. Tailoring your resume for each job application you apply for can be helpful too to highlight relevant skills and experiences that match the JD. We all hate this but it will be good to train up on excelling in the technical test interviews. Maybe can also consider alternative roles like business analytics ? I hope this helps and all the best in finding your new job :)
@@natalienicolelam hmm for business analyst, its still primarily a business role first, the data part is only secondary which is used to support business decisions.
May I ask do u see work as work or are u truly passionate about what u do?
Heyy I would say I’m passionate enough that I don’t dread going to work and I’m still motivated to keep learning, but it’s still mostly a 9-6 job, and my life doesn’t revolve around it
@@natalienicolelam Could u share what makes ur job interesting? Actually the question above was me, I seems to can't find interest in this field no matter how I try, while I do have interest in another field but it's unrelated to my major. So really just want to hear from ppl who are interested enough in this field, what interests them.
It's interesting to see how fast this field evolves, and how it requires constant learning and curiosity This allows me to be involved in different challenges from time to time, and I think that is quite important in my career.
@@natalienicolelam Thanks for sharing!
A week with a data science vlog by Nat is a great week! Didn't realise the importance of internships back in my uni days and didn't clock much ... also wanted to start off as a data scientist but realised that most of them have steep starting requirements like cloud technologies, ML experience etc beyond what you learn in school .. so i'm attempting to climb from a data analyst role
Curious question tho, now that you have a full time job, do you still spend time after work catching up on DS developments? Like reading medium articles, listening to DS podcasts or even doing side projects?
Hey Kelvin! Yea I do try to read up on the various articles and stuff after work but not rlly on side projects hahahaa 😅
@@kelvinfoo8151 What aspects are u interested in?
LLMs!
Great vlog!
congrats but dont mean to sound annoying or rude but shouldn't your censor your signature though im around your age and felt its impossible for me in the future to ever own a place of my home, partly due to my condition, pituitary gland damaged as I couldnt work, I had sleep deprivation and memory issues after getting hit by soccer ball when I was in sec4 and got bullied by my classmate which I avoided school and n level which only went for English n level. I kept forgetting things and often repetitive, which right after the accident I couldnt remember my way some days, and when I do, the bullies followed me home and caused a nuisance by loudly banging on the door. I forgot all these but reported to the teachers about the pranks but teacher simply laughed that they're just playing, laughed while walking away which probably cause short depression, but due to the accident I completely forgot everything as memory changes and drastically failing. I simply coped myself at home ever since for the past decade. when my doctor said I have pituitary gland damaged, I dont understand so I googled search as she insisted it was due to birth defect while staring at my mom, but found on google search that it was caused by accident and I dreamt of that accident few months after and remembered everything just that im ten years late. my cousin got a bto and lived in estate next to my home even though she used to live in mature estate in another part of sg, their bto recently mop. two months ago out of the blue upgraded their 4room bto to nearby ec as the estate they currently lived in lack of amenities, none of the nearby school were even build and far from the mrt which whenever they head out have to take bus to either my neighbourhood or others. it was 1.3m which her parents, my mom and I dont quite get why pay so much for the house. but I felt its a great move for them as my cousin's eldest son gonna be in pri school next year, there's a bus stop right infront of the condo that easily brings their children to the school in the future and its within less than five minute walk sheltered walkway to the mrt although their nearest mall were way worse than my neighbourhood as both mall doesnt sells clothes or electronics. I lived in my estate for more than twenty years and always dislike it as it lacks of shop that sells basic necessities. another great move I felt was even though my cousin earns more than her husband, but only had an average family income, I felt that she's increasing her inheritance from her parents when in the future they weren't around, which we asked why dont they get those 3gen type instead but cousin's idea since she was much younger was she wanna be like my mom instead, get married and have kids at young age, as she find that my mom looked young even though have two grown kids. but her idea of getting married around the same age when my mom was married because she dislike her parents always arguing and the age gap between her and her parents which was why she chose to have kids to have the same age gap I have between me and my mom.
Hey Natalie, any email we can get you on?

Hi, how is life like after graduating from uni. Does life actually gets easier after u graduate from uni or does life becomes more difficult from there on? Also how different is life as a uni student compared to life now as a working adult?
Hey! I'd say life after uni is when you become truly independent. During uni, you have a set timetable and curriculum, with a routine of non-stop studying and exams. Your main goal might just be to do well in your major. But after uni, it's a whole different ball game. Sure, your weekends might be entirely yours now, unlike during uni when you also had to study. However, adulthood will hit you with new responsibilities like managing finances and getting a house. The peerhood of studying with friends will be gone, and you'll have to make your own life decisions and choices. Whether it becomes harder or easier is subjective. But, of course, it’ll be the best scenario if you like your job, have a good work-life balance, and a decent salary.
natalie, i love this video. how do i contact you.
Thank you! You can email me :) in description

Hi, im share the same sentiment's on the difficulties on adulting, having just started on my first full time job. For me the question was how to have enough finances so that i could afford the big ticket items such as housing, etc given the high cost of the living in Sg. And worrying whether will i have enough money for retirement or even being able to retire for that matter.
Heyyy, yes, I totally understand your sentiment. For me, I actually developed a habit of saving from a young age, which has really helped. Setting clear financial goals and creating a budget can also make a big difference. Lifestyle choices, like cooking and eating at home, and going to hawker centers or food courts, can save a lot. For housing, the BTO option and available grants can be really helpful. It's also worth exploring different savings and investment options to make your money work for you. We're all navigating this journey together, so hang in there!
@@natalienicolelam Yeah the only solution it seems is to keep going for a higher paying job whenever u have the opportunity to have one.

How much is the down payment you made?
Possibly 400k+ cash and cpf so maybe around 200-300k cash? Assuming price of 2B2B to be around 1.5 mil. She and her boyfriend are balling for real.
@@YNA64 LHR is 2 + 1 is more like 1.7m, downpayment wise, you are right. However, they should've aimed for Lentor mansion 3 bed compact for similar pricing 😆 Exit in that area is going to be hard with too many 2 bedders to go around. Best to buy > 3bedders to stand out if you want to sell after
damn how are you able to afford a condo already after graduating not long ago? congrats!
Thank you:) it took a lot of savings and working throughout uni :)
