    So for a pure sorc build that's level 259 we'd go 80 faith/int and what? Dump the rest into health and mind? Or is there more to it?

    • @NoorAgafia
      @NoorAgafia 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that's definitely the gist of it. The 4 Sorceries I mentioned in the beginning are capable of clearing the entire map and any enemy with ease. (I posted the list during the end.) For me personally, looking at clips of someone spamming Rock Sling the entire fight isn't something anyone would want to watch I imagine. But these sorceries are highly capable. Combine that with the safety of bloodhound's step and any real necessity to change or switch around something evaporates. Because I imagine most people like melee and don't want to see someone spamming one or two sorceries the entire fight, I went through all the weapons I played with and picked the ones that I think fit a ranged (sorcerer) build the most or are simply too strong to ignore. In summary, the biggest consideration, I think, you could make is deciding whether you want to play with the Fallingstar Beast Jaw, or not. If so, then more points in strength, dex and endurance (for the increased weapon load) are needed. Since you said a pure sorcerer build, I would definitely go with something like this. - 40 vitality - enough to not get one shot by anything. (some say 60 for pvp, but I can't attest to that.) - 30 mind - more is quality of life. Or a luxury. Not a real necessity. At least that's how I see it. There is never any situation in which you use up all your flasks. - 30 endurance - more stamina is nice for longer spams but not a necessity either. As you can see in my first sorcerer build, if you walk in between rock sling casts, you generate stamina, never running out. (While sprinting you can quickly press crouch to generate massive amounts of stamina if you're close to running out.) - 40 dex - 70 is nice but certainly not mandatory. Since you have one or two mod slots opens for Radagon Icon. (Which gives 30 virtual dexterity towards exclusively spell casting.) 70 is the casting cap. With a pure sorcerer build, there is no need for Alexander's shard / weapons skills. So you can still pick the ritual sword talisman with it as well. Magic Scorpion, Graven mass, Radagon icon, Ritual sword talisman - would definitely be my choice for a pure (magic) sorcerer build. Without question. 80 int/faith as you said. No need for Strength or Arc and any spare points could be invested wherever you want. I had 40 mind and endurance. That could be a focus since more in dex isn't needed. (unless you want to take it all the way to 70.) That's it basically. For me personally, since all sorceries and incantation are bound to a single key... Basically means you can't effectively use many sorceries & incantations. I never equipped more than 5 at once. (inc buffs.) (Preferably only 4.) So I switched around my sorceries and incantions a lot depending on which enemy I fought because I didn't want too many equipped, allowing quick access to them. Having to spam that button, during combat, to find the right sorcery or incantation is just highly ineffective (and dangerous) if you have a lot equipped. For me personally at least. It's also why I bound my mana/FP flasks to my pouch. (& summons.) It's a lot quicker than spamming the flask button and switching between HP/Mind/Physic. At least I feel so. A good example of this is Malenia's fight. During Phase two she dives down, and even though I had my physic ready to be used, I picked a mind flask. Probably not the best choice. But this was during the 4sec cerulean bug. (instead of 10 sec duration.) You don't have time to cast both flasks before she dives down on you. Because all sorceries and incantations are bound to a single key, I leaned towards also using weapon skills and not sticking solely with Sorceries and Incantations. (and thus invested more points into strength/arcane.) For a general, all purpose pure sorcerer build, my choice would be having - Golden Vow - Rock Sling - Ancient Death Rancor - Adula's Moonblade - Stars of ruin equipped. Breaking my own rule. But 5, with a little muscle memory and never switching the order in which you have them equipped.. It can be used effectively. You would miss out on Collapsing Stars, Comet Azur, Terra Magica, and Starlight, or any spell/incantation you like, so you could design a more personal combination. - With Golden Vow, Rock Sling and/or Ancient Death Rancor as a foundation to fall back on and these would be the only ones you never unequip. Adding any further spell or incantation depending on the enemy you fight. This is what I did most of the time. (Stars of Ruin vs Night's Cavalry / Malenia - Adula's moonblade vs Black Knife, Alecto and final two bosses, etc.) - Like I used Ranni's Dark moon with Ice Spear - you can also use it with Adula's moonblade or Icecrag. (anything that also applies frost build up really. Even weapon skills you like with Frost Affinity on them.) I wouldn't use Ranni's Dark moon just for damage. I feel it should be used in conjunction with other spells that also apply frost build up. - Or Rock Sling with Meteorite of Astel and Flame GMS - for a more physical build. Really good. (since I leaned towards this, the Fallingstar beast jaw just completed it perfectly. As Rock Sling can't be used in close quarters, but the Fallingstar beast jaw can. And all benefit from Flame GMS.) - Terra Magica with Ancient Death Rancor, Stars of Ruin and Comet Azur. Good against mobile and stationary targets. Getting many heavy hits in while still on the Terra magic floor buff, and also being able to deal very good damage when you need to move around a lot. (best of both worlds as it were.) - Or more towards a fire build, equipping both tears, and incorporate Black Flame/Magma shot, flame GMS (with Rock sling). Good for dealing with adds, stronger enemies and bosses. That's the beauty of this game. So many viable options and ways to customize it to your own liking. The damage with the Prince of Death staff is just really good. I never felt the need to dual wield staves anymore. Like I did when I first started playing sorcerer. In my latest clip you can see how much damage Rock Sling deals against Fortissax from a long range. You can practically melt enemies before they get close. (Morgot/ Mohg, etc.) For a pure sorcerer build you can dual wield the Prince of Death with the Meteorite staff. When fighting bosses, you would be like: Aw, sh!t, is this it? That's how strong it is. (On that level, Comet Azur is just.. something only used for when Malenia turns into a flower and that's it.) You can see the list of enemies you can easily defeat with Rock Sling alone in the last section of the clip. Anyway, hope this helps. Good luck with your build!

    Hey what actually are yr stats?

    • @NoorAgafia
      @NoorAgafia 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only mandatory stats for this build are 80 Int/Faith. Everything else is up for discussion. I had: 40 - Vitality, Mind, Endurance. - but 30 Mind & Endurance is good too. And there was no reason for me to go beyond 40 vitality. (Some say 60 for PvP?) 50 - Strength. Greatsword only needs 31, Beastjaw 34. I would say 35 is good or sufficient as well. (Spare points can be invested here though.) 70 - Dex - For max casting speed. I would recommend just taking 40 and equipping Radagon's Icon (30). Having 70 does save a talisman slot though. Your choice. 80 - Int/Faith. There is no way around it unfortunately. You need it to make the Prince of Death Staff outshine even Lusat's staff. 50 - Arcane. By far the least important stat in this build. Only take 20 if you intend to use the Rivers of Blood Katana. As a caster, I wouldn't focus on Arcane at all. Fire is just too good. I took it initially to experiment with the two aberrant Sorceries. To see if I could proc the Lord of Blood's Exultation from a distance but it didn't work. The spells themselves are also fairly weak. Dual wielding weapons with both bloodloss and poison/rot - with the 2x 20% AP talismans - to see if I could buff Sorceries and incantations that way, in a melee/range hybrid, also didn't work efficiently. I would only take Arcane if you intend to strictly use melee/bloodloss weapons for everything. If you want to incorporate some incantations or sorceries in a melee build, go Fire :D Can't repeat it enough. Which I thought was a shame, 'cause I really liked Lightning and Holy as well and I tried to make it work several times. (As you can see in my Black Knife build.) With the weapons I showcased any points you feel like you can miss or spare, I would put them in Strength if you like the Greatsword/Lion's claw or Fallingstar Beast Jaw. Frost can be buffed by Ranni's Darkmoon. Which I started using too late. 21:32 - you can see the frostbite proc. Blaidd's Royal Greatsword is also a good alternative to Lion's claw if you don't want to use fire and simply stick to magic only. Hope this helps. Good luck! And take care.

Using heavier weapons was actually what I was referring to earlier. Some Ashes of War actually out damage their somber counterparts. Which I think is a shame, considering the lore and significance of those weapons. But then again, there're already enough strong weapons and builds. I'll see if I can make another clip with perhaps the weapons I like the most when playing sorcerer. Oh thank you! Glad you found it helpful. This game really encourages you to try different builds and make variations to your own liking and play style. With the endless click bait titles, claiming every little thing to be Broken, OP and/or Amazing. I just felt the need to make something the way I see and experience the game. Unfortunately some spells and weapons are significantly stronger than others - especially noticeable in new game +. Now on new game+ with 80 int/faith and the Prince of Death staff (430 int scaling) it just trivializes the game. It out damages even Lusat's, without the drawbacks and it also boosts Ancient Death Rancor. Not sure where to go from here. The power curve is just too great. I don't really recommend it. Either I wait for the DLC or rush to NG+7. I'm also hesitant to share the most powerful weapon combinations with the Prince of Death staff, that I have found, as I don't want to ruin your experience :D Anyway, Thanks for watching.
