Our Dinatrol underbody protection package explained in a quick video from start to finish
Do Jimnys need undersealing?
Do brand new Jimnys need undersealing?
If you're in the UK - yes and yes.
So many people want to keep their car long term, and are heartbroken when they have to scrap it because of rust, rot and corrosion, even when the body and interior looks fine, and it drives flawlessly.
We often see posts in groups asking advice about the need for, the cost of, and the depth of service provided by underbody protection companies to people who want to protect their Jimnys.
We have been undersealing our cars for many years now.
We document the process from time to time, but we have never produced a guide to exactly what we do.
Recently, we have had more and more people who have watched our videos, bring their car to us.
This short video explains our process from start to finish.
If your underbody anti corrosion treatment doesn't include, at the very least, the front and rear bumpers off, then it isn't a comprehensive treatment.
We are in the process of filming some in depth videos, where we will show the complete breakdown, and the masking process.
Use these videos to do the underbody protection yourself, or as a benchmark when enquiring about the process to a provider.
Or bring your car to us, you can drive here and go home on the train, then we'll collect you from the station when you come to collect!!

The tiniest brake discs rotors ever! Sourcing motor parts from Japan.

We are often asked about parts for Japanese imports. It's a huge market now, and although parts for the models which have a UK equivalent are easy to source, there are some parts which are more difficult. This is a short video of some discs and pads we got for quite an obscure vehicle, our own Mitsubishi Minicab Miev - electric minitruck.

    My only gripe with these cars is the rear lights. They just look odd. Two piece units should look as one imo. Minor thing but it does niggle me. That shelf in the boot that makes a level floor when the rear seats are down is not a feature on UK spec cars. Which I find incredibly daft.

    • @mysuzuki8534
      @mysuzuki8534 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry for the late reply - we've been away. I should have mentioned this. As the Idle Control Valve works from the temp of the coolant, it has a feed in and out. However because its so high in the system, it only needs a small amount to be drained so it falls below the height of the throttle body - if that makes sense?

    • @mysuzuki8534
      @mysuzuki8534 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sort of, they could sell it, because the emissions weren't out of the ordinary, but across the range Suzuki wasn't meeting the EU directive, and had to add a surcharge. It's only my opinion, but they are so overstretched with keeping up with the rest of the world, it makes sense to pull out of the EU. Which I suspect is the reason the Light Commercial has now been pulled - so they can concentrate on the rest of the world.

      @mysuzuki8534 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It can be an issue anywhere in the world if you live near the sea, as the seas breeze can put salt on your car. But no - it's mainly just the UK who have a ridiculously low minimum tyre tread depth (1.6mm) so the local councils salt the roads to ensure the safety of motorists driving around with virtually bald tyres, for the sake of a handful of days a year. Which systematically destroys cars, especially 4x4's with ladder frame chassis.

    Hey there mate. I have one of these in Auckland NZ.. Just wondered if you had a video, or knew how to replace the headlight bulbs. I have the H4 bulb here but, am a bit unsure about how to open up the framing of the bulbs. Any info would be much appreciated 👍

    Thanks mate! I had issues with my trailer electric module. Your video really helped my find the problem.Module located under the left side cover. Following the wire, it came out to be just a fuse, connected to the brake pedal senzor. Jimny 2003. Cheers!

      Well done 👏 isn't it great when you not only find the fault, but then go on to cure it!!! Glad it was helpful.

      Hi - yes the instrument panel is in mph, and all the warnings/functions etc. are fully in English.

    Great video, thanks for sharing. I have a question because I am hoping to do similar with a Jimny that I have just bought. If I take the rear seats out, do I have to replace them for an MOT or is that not necessary.? Many thanks Tony

      Technically, if you take out the rear seats, then you should also remove the rear seat belts, as someone 'could' attempt to use the belt (if both tongue and buckle are still there), but that depends on the design of the car. With the Jimny, the buckle is attached to the seat, which we removed, and the tongue is tucked away behind the panel. Arguably the tester could say the seat belt was still in place, but it's unlikely. If there was any issue, the seat belt can easily be removed. We just left it there, albeit hidden away, just so the owner has a safe place to store it, in case they decide to replace the seats. But you're fine to remove the seats if you like.

      @@mysuzuki8534 Thanks very much. That is really helpful. My Jimny has 1 months MOT right now, so I have a year to run it down to the MOT station to ask them about the belts. Many thanks, Tony

    Brilliant video mate...one question is did the headunit go straight in plu n play of you gotta mess with wiring/buy extra loom? Ta

      Because it's from Japan, we need to change it to European spec, which is ISO. It's just one connector which is around £10 and it plugs right in, or you can solder all the wires. But if you have a UK car, the head unit will plug right in and everything works out of the box.
