When i was a kid we used to make this exploding 'toy' using 2 large bolts and a nut. I think it was my dad who showed us how to make it! Different times! Basically, you screw the tip of each bolt into the opposite sides of the nut, but you put some kind of contact explosive in the middle between the 2 bolts. Usually swan vesta match head scrapings. Then you drop it from height onto a hard surface and it goes bang, usually sending both bolts in different directions! We used to drop it off the balcony onto the pavement below. Luckily we never broke any windows or hurt anyone! Happy days.....😂

hi, just curious as to why the offset? is it just for chuck clearance? Nice tool. Planning on spinning one together myself so looking at as many as I can find being fabricated. Thanks

Nothing New there. We made them when I was a boy .fortunately no one was injured or died. Very. Dangerous.

Better learn the safe way to load from the muzzle (especially how you hold a ramrod), whether or not your powder is some kind of contact explosive (why ever would you mix in material from the striker on the matchbox???)

Yo cuando era niño me fabrique una pistola parecida a tu proyecto solo que use como cañón una vaina o casquete de una. bala disparada de civilla carga a con pólvora un taco de papel municiones y otro taco de papel y en la parte trasera le hice un orificio en donde instalaba la cabeza de un cerillo o fósforo le hice una empuñadura similar a una pistola derringer y para dispararlo le pasaba la lija de una caja de cerillas y PUM tenía un alcance de ,5 o 6 metros

Подшипник можно было проще разломать. Зажать в тиски радиально , молоточком стукнуть- внешнее кольцо и лопнет. Лучше в тряпку завернуть чтобы осколки не полетели .
