    Don't make the mistake of thinking because I grew up without running water I'm simple, General. I do know something about history. See all this It's simply shaping tomorrow, a tomorrow without a lot of Arkansas white-boy's ideas in it.

    As a Somali there are many lies! Warlord Dominated Society 😭😭💀, NEARLY 500 Innocent Somalis Died during this Mission when American Pilots targeted a Building where INNOCENT Somalis had been Purposely Bombed and Ppl talk about a few American lives, Wats worse is that they cover it by saying they came to help us from Starving 😂, u fucking Idiots they came to 🇸🇴 because it’s the most Stragetic point in the world, there are many hidden deepen truths that only Somalis know, our land have been split up on purpose, our ppl have been split up on PURPOSE for a reason, one thing I’ll say is look at what 🇸🇴 was doing after and before independence !!

      We had some fun when I was at his house. We went to best buy to get his PC. I went in first to explain to the manager we were bringing in a new PC that arrived damaged, and we needed to leave with a working one. I explained who he was - said “if veterans were hollywood actors, this guy is brad pitt. Look him up” The manager did and treated Dick like total royalty. We left with a working upgraded PC, no problem. They were great. Every vet should get that service. Dick would wholly support that.

    Fascinating details about HAHO stacking and navigation. I guess the necessity of predicting the wind factor gives significant operational value to the civilian weather balloons floating around the world.

    Great leadership lesson. Being mindful of your status as an officer and not wanting to rock the boat with your people. To earn trust and respect over time by leading from the front and by example. I’ve heard him on more than one pod talk about him being the first one on the ground and the last one out on the extraction. I learn more every time.

      Dick is first a thinking warrior, which makes him so good at the job. First in last out was standard for SOG team leaders, although a few guys got into their role and weren't up to it so probably didn't observe that. They were judged by their indigenous team members, and if not worthy were often moved out of recon pretty sharpish. It's a testament to Dick's capability that a seasoned Vietnamese team fought very hard to keep him as their team leader. It shows how well regarded he was.

      First they were often quite small in size. Second they were maybe 22-24 years old. Third I guess they hydrated well before each mission Fourth triple canopy jungle in Laos for example was actually quite cool, and sometimes really cold. Fifth they moved maybe 200 yards in an hour. Sixth they would refill their two canteens in streams as they went, often planning their area recon by where the "blue lines" were I imagine once they got into it with the NVA thirst would have kicked in hard.

But this effort, that of the vets an yourself to bring the community these interviews.... Says something, for sure. These interviews are worthy of making a documentary or archiving it. for future generations.

    you should try and get some1 of those old wolfs to show how to shoot from the hip. shame to see guys trying guns what they used, some lame single shot shooting sight down. not even doubles, just lame single shots.

    • @SavageGameDesign
      @SavageGameDesign หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is an odd comment. Learning to shoot historic weapons you start with close targets and single shot, to get used to the weapon, then develop fro mthere. We've been shooting with SOG and SF vets for 3 years and this is how they prefer to instruct - safely. To call it "lame" is to misunderstand range safety and instructors preferences.

    • @tonihelminen7405
      @tonihelminen7405 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SavageGameDesign yea, those sog guys didnt shoot safely, what i have learned, and thats the point on my comment. what i have learned, they trained to shoot some metal plates from the hip, first ones was about a foot of diameter, then they developement from there and were able to shoot a quarter size from a hip. they all have told that, that time what it takes to aim down your sight will get you killed. i didnt mean to provoke you at all, i just thought it would be awesome to see that someone at these days would be able to approve that challenge. dont get me wrong dude. And i have to say, it would look just awesome if youn would get some1 from sog teams to give that good old gun a go. from a hip. no bad feelings dude 😝🫕 looks like theres no "cheers" or beer cans here but hope you got the point.
