Sweet collection! I had the 1980 Blizzard 9500. What a crazy powerful pipey motor. Where's the YamahaSRX440?😊
@polaridoo1 I'd like to find an srx but they are always so pricey
@CKPowersports I wish I could have sold you mine. I bought it in the early '90s when they were very cheap, and sold it when it was probably even cheaper. It was in pristine condition and I think I was lucky to get $500 for it. Maybe less. I can't remember now.
@polaridoo1 dang. It seems like they are all like 2 to 3k now for nice ones
My dad and I drag raced a 440Z Arcticcat. I raced against a lot of the sleds you have. We won just about everything. Stock. Super Stock and Mod’s. Nothing in 75 and 76 could come close. I have the trophies to prove it. You’re Suzuki had a Arcticcat engine in it. Arcticcat chassis
Sharp looking sled.
I raced my 634 Puma. About 38-40 Hp. It raced in the D class. Dad’s was B Stock.
I had one of those, it was quick back in the day.
According to texting by popular snowmobile magazines .. in 1975 the Rupp Nitro 440 F/A was the fastest snowmobile built in 1975 🤔
@bobbycoates9174 it's definitely debatable. This one was absolutely in the conversation though.
Very cool
You might want to get those wrenches out from the bottom of the motor LOL
Nah..I think they've been in there since 75. I might need them someday.
We had one and it was very fast, but its best feature was its weight. In that era sleds were heavy and my town had big snow so this JDL was supreme for getting out of being stuck
That Suzuki was nice but……not as fast as the Yamaha GPX 433 or 75 mercury snow-twister. 🤙🏼 Fastest sled out there from 1976 - 80 is the Yamaha 1977 SRX 440 👍🏼 love the 70s for things like snowmobile’s ,motorcycles. Innovations were big at that time moving forward. A fun decade to live in.
@BentTrails28 this is a 75. It's not as fast as a liquid cooled srx. A gpx 433 is rated at 55 hp and this is 60. It is definitely one of the fastest free air sleds of 75 though.
@ The finish line always tells the truth at least that’s the way it was up north in Michigan. Lol Have a good one. Be safe on the trails. 👍🏼
Do you sell any of the sleds
@@davegriffin7979 i have in the past. Is there something you are looking for?
I have a old 1972 Johnson Rampage 32 horsepower
@@steelydan42 that's pretty cool
Just say N. Pull the plugs. Quick pre Mix shot in each Hole . She said more Lube is always good 😅
I definitely do that on ones I've never heard run before.
Those two look like a lot of fun
@TrailMachineGarage pilots are so much fun. Unfortunately the 670 one was running rich and not too happy in the sand.
always liked the look of the jd sleds. something about them maybe just the color and design but they always look so cool.
@kollinspencer847 i completely agree. I've always thought they were some of the best looking ones.
For Me - Was the Clone ( Portrayed ) Cool !!
I had an 81 SRV. The track was backwards just like your Liquifire. I turned it around and the machine hooked up much better.
@@bivermonter I'm definitely tempted to do that on it. It has great power but seriously needs more traction.
Arctic Cat with Suzuki stickers
The motor is unique to the fury. They used this motor the following year in the cats but it was slightly detuned.
MY BUDDIES DAD HAD RUPP 400 NITRO THAT WE WOULD RIDE AS KIDS AND HIS DAD WOULD RACE IT LOCALLY WITH THE 440s AND HE DID GREAT ON IT . HE BOUGHT A NEW 440 SKI DOO AND THE RUPP WOULD WALK BY IT. THE GOOD OL DAYS
I'd definitely like to have a rupp someday. I've never had the chance though
You should stop running the engine and repair the oil injection system. The crank bearings are not getting the proper lubrication and will eventually seize. Also, the engine in the Invader is not exactly the same as the Liquifire. The cylinders and heads are different.
@psshd1 all of my vintage sleds are set up as premixed. There's no harm in premixing.
@@CKPowersports The Kawasaki engines that were used in the John Deere Liquifire and the Kawaski Invader has oil injection plumbed into the crank bearings as well as a center port just ahead of the carburetor. By disconnecting the oil injection, the crank is not getting a lubrication.
I'll definitely look into that. I kind of think my invader is premix too.
The 1975 Yamaha GPX was fast .. as mentioned below, the Mercury Snow twister too .
@@mikeskidmore6754 i think those are all right there in comparison with this one.
Honda fl350 real nice atv to add to your collection.
never knew they came stock with twin pipes. thats pretty cool for its time
They have a great sound with the twin pipes
Cool bud, I did not know about this sled.
They are pretty rare, especially nowadays
Love those old sleds
Check out my other videos. I got a few others running too.
I feel your pain. Here in southern Ontario Canada we haven’t had more than 1.5” of snow yet. None last year either
It's been a weird couple years for snow
I had a 440 fury those things were fast
I need that shelving for my old sleds. Possibly give me the dimensions. ?
@Dooguy it's pallet racking. The uprights are 8ft tall and 42in deep. It has 10ft length beams
Hey, it’s a Suzuki; of course it fired right up! I’m a bike guy-I had no idea that Suzuki had dabbled with snow machines. I’m sure they were reliable..
@oldschoolmotorsickle yeah, they made them for like 5 or 6 years in the 70s and then became the engine supplier for arctic cat after that.
Do you still have the 3 wheeler for sale?
@@landemorse7084 yes I do
How does it run? What are you asking?
@landemorse7084 it runs great. I have a few other videos on it too. I'm debating trying selling it on bring a trailer, so I'm just listening to offers now on it.
You can convert those carbs to the other style main jets..
That would definitely be worth it in my opinion.
Deere made a twin pipe kit as did a couple other companies that really makes these sound and perform great.
That would be really cool. I know there was a couple versions of the kawasaki that came with twin pipes too.
Love a nice liquifire
How sentimental is the TRI-Z to you? Next vids “will it run” Marketplace deals!!
@72mmALKYDRAGGIN that's definitely one of my favorites. It's also currently blown up. I blew it up this summer and haven't touched it since.
@ let’s find out what happened!! Break a piston skirt from too much “slap” or carb/filter issues??
@72mmALKYDRAGGIN it definitely partially seized. I was running up a sand hill in first gear at full throttle.
I had a 1981 John Deere Spitfire free air. Great video!
@mike.4277 i have a friend that has one of those. They are surprisingly torquey and fun.
Tge most fun I’ve ever had on a snowmobile was on a spitfire
Dators - Fires & Cyclones Jd built some Cool sleds !
@DarrenShaw-ev5tb absolutely. They were definitely one of the major manufacturers for awhile.
Liquidators dominated xc racing!
@379insk was that the 550cc model?
340......Brian Nelson was the high point championship as well as the Winnipeg -St Paul I500 race. My dealership managed to ge 2 of them. They raced 1 in the I500 and a few other races including the Regina -Minot i250. My neighbour bought the other Liquidater and didnt race it.
I can smell this video lol
@marykruse6559 i still smell it and my shoulder still feels it too.
That doesn’t surprise me.
My shoulder hurt just watching
1975 was an amazing year for snowmobiles. If you want fast and light find a mercury trail twister 440/TT Ridiculously fun and fast.
The trail twister was the fastest Fan cooled sled in 1975, Rupp Nitro had the same engine, but the Merc had less weight and a better pipe. than the Rupp.
I bought one of those brand new. Called it my upside down suzuki, cleated track loved to spin put side ways. I see yours has the tell tale bends in both sides and the webbing in the hood from being rolled. Mine burnt with 25 miles on it that just removed a bunch of weight wiring hareness a bunch of grills headlights etc. was even faster. Won some races with it and someone with more money than I had offered me more than I paid for it, still miss it all I got left is a new throttle cable their not the same as artic cats.
Sounds like you need to find another one to keep.
Scorpion
I am 49 years old my first snowmobile was colt 175 then got a jag 340 then a ss 440 Yamaha 81 started riding at 7 years old good times
That thing is almost the exact same thing as a 440 Jag . Even the gas tank and the seat
There are some similarities
@CKPowersports I had a 1975 JAG. It was almost identical. The sliders looked like a dog sled the way it was built. The track ran along the top side as well. It only had about 3 inches of travel. I believe that in 76 or 77 the sliders went to the modern design similar to the new machines we have now.
wish i kept my 72 290 EXT and later 75 340 fa snowjet with yamaha motor
Back in the day, I had a 1980 John Deere liquifire 440! ( Kawasaki TC 440A ) loved that thing
@@slickjimmy76 i just got mine fired up today. Stay tuned for that video.
Those are the sleds I grew up with when I was starting out in the sport, had a 76 El Tigre 440 ,bought it from the service tech at the cat dealer in 79piped clutched dual plugs on the heads, just a real nice sled, then went to triples in 96,luv them 2 strokes, that Polaris 340 was real nice back then as well,a buddy had that John deer and it was real good for back then
@lcurtsinger4313 I'm definitely a fan of all the old ones too. Especially all the muscle sleds.
That Suzuki Fury is an Arctic Cat El Tigre' wrapped up in Suzuki Graphics.
@@Curt-ge9gc plus a better engine
@CKPowersports Arctic Cat was Using Suzuki engines in 1975. It's basically the Same Sled in a Different Colr Wrapper.
@Curt-ge9gc that is incorrect. Prior to 75 they used kawasaki engines. The fury was the first "arctic cat" with a suzuki engine. Also the fury had twin pipes, higher compression and different ignition that was unique to the suzuki.
We need snow to test it out this year!
@@Darkknight450R I'm running out of patience for snow
I would like to see the Kawasaki Invader and the John Deere go head to head
If we had some snow I'd definitely do it. I'd put my money on the kawasaki. It seems to get better traction.
Do you ship to Ireland ?
@@ribena9585 I've never tried
This is awesome! Good job!
My 1995 Arctic Cat had a 580 Suzuki motor in it.
Yes it did. This started the suzuki partnership with cat.
My uncle blew away alot of snowtristers with his rupp nitro free air. And if memory serves well, they were the fastest in the snowgowers reports.
Did he ever race a fury though?
Yes he did, and beat them.
My neighbor had gpx and snow jet thunder jets and srx would wipe the floor on them twister and rupp and Polaris
Never been on a snow mobile but they always looked like fun
@@exlonghauler it's like a street bike for the snow. They are very fast.
