Mt Olympus WA summit climb 8/9/24
มุมมอง 3.3K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Climbing Mt Olympus WA with Gavin and Alex. We started late Friday early Saturday and ended up making camp 10 miles in, continued after a short nap to the summit via the blue glacier. Made the summit around 8:00pm and caught a beautiful sunset. Made our way down to the glacier meadows to camp. Finished the hike down on Sunday around 5:00pm. Exhausting climb but probably one of my all time favor...
Three sisters Traverse in a day

Alex, Pierce and I decided to get out and attempt the three sisters traverse. We successfully summited first South sister, headed north to middle sister. Lastly we climbed north sister, ended up taking a sketchy route around the bowling alley. Didn’t get to the official summit of north this go around. Had an amazing time in the mountains filled with some misery and loss of type 2 fun. Looking f...

We had nearly perfect conditions excluding some very high winds once we had reached the summit. I feel very accomplished having completed this impressive volcano summit. Looking forward to my next visit!

Where’s the ice axe?
just bought a regear jacket i hope its cute irl......im scared
I’m trying to store it and couldn’t figure out how to put it back in the bag
Hi was that a like new condition? or excellent?
@@justin382 this was considered like new if I remember correctly. They don’t do a very good job with showing photos on ReGear.
Excellent climbing!
Wow, amazing solo summit climb of Mt. Baker! The beautiful sunrise and stunning volcanic scenery made for an inspiring and enjoyable hike. Thanks for sharing your adventure-your passion for the mountains truly shines through! Count me a s new sub.
FWIW, for pitch 1, you can also climb the bolted line out at the arette. I'm glad you posted footage of the crack/dihedral variation... that looks way dirtier and looser 🤣
Looks like an incredible climb!
Definitely more challenging than Rainier DC route. I would go with a guide.
Looks great. Good Job.
Great summit guys you make my old soloing videos look safe!
@@seanfair2330 thanks man! Jefferson is pretty dicey!
How was the pullover hoodie? I'm planning to get one but their isnt really ones in store
Love the singing lol 😂😂
Amazing! This is on my bucket list.
Such a slog but so awesome a peak to get in the bag.
You are great
@@jasonkim8295 thanks man! you are great too!!
To verify, you turned off the trail, SW of Pamelia Lake walking up the old mud slide area where the trees are all downed? I'm looking at it on Google Earth.
@@TimKaseyMythHealer yessir, it’s a cleared area from avalanche I believe. Once you get there it’s a straight shot up directly towards the summit.
What kind of experience do you need to climb Jefferson? Are there guiding companies to tackle this?
how much are you guys carrying and how do you train for this?
@@user-pd9ju5dk5s pack weight not including food and water is roughly 10-15lbs. Training for something like this should include long hikes with lots of vertical gain. I recommend doing it with a weighted pack to better simulate realistic bag weight. I’ve got a video that shows what I brought on Mt Baker for a C2C summit push.
Found you via random youtube recommendation. Awesome videos. Love the simple, raw accounts of your climbs. Subscribed!
@@PCrowlz haha I’m surprised TH-cam recommended any of my content, thanks for subscribing. I hope you enjoy!

1:00 "Plants grow by the inch, stay on trails" -park sign 7:45 bedding down on the vegetation... you guys ever heard of LNT? Other than that, a cool video. Thanks for sharing the experience.
@@tawanga you’re completely right, we should have waited until we found a better spot to bivy. Leave nothing but footprints!
13:42 liked deployed LOL
I had no idea about this hike. Thanks for sharing.
These are wonderful videos. They will be nice to have later in life as a way of recalling your accomplishments. I enjoy watching them in part because I grew up on these very peaks. This video up Stuart gives me such vivid memories of the long slog up that crappy scree, which for me was 35 years ago. It’s cool to see you moving up it with such apparent ease. The traverse of Sisters is impressive, too. That’s a long day. I like the minimal narration. It’s better that way. The parking lots have more cars.
those Parmesan goldfish are the best lol
@@GotDamBoi should have brought a bigger bag!
not sure why this randomly popped up in my algorithm but i'm glad it did. lovin the vids
Like your style! Thanks for sharing, would love to get up there
Awesome climb. Made it to Blue Glacier for the first time on Sunday and that alone was a trek. So cool to also summit. Glad you made it safely
Epic.
50+ miles, out of food for most of the day.... POWER RANGER! Thanks for documenting it H.!
Great video. I'm planning for early September.
just climbed a 97 foot hill. thinking of summiting k2 next week, thoughts?
Marathon complete. Flash backs to the north side of south sister. Guess y’all found the ropes in the dark lol. How was the south route up north? I can imagine how y’all felt lol.
We didn’t find any ropes this time coming down south sister. We had to navigate in the dark and found a decent route but it was slow moving. Very exhausting day, I still think you and I ended up doing more miles on the obsidian falls route 😅
When did you drink the Red Bull?
I drank it on the way down the mountain on my sandwich break, I chilled it in the glacier prior 👍
Spend a bit less in the bag and get a tripod
some say double nose strips could have made the difference

You're such an inspiration! I hope you'll come up to Alaska one day. I miss you!
@@aknydonut I would love to visit and experience some beautiful Alaskan mountains with you!
Great to see you guys get out with all of the smoke. Looks like a long yet fun day!
We had to do some research to discover what areas would not be on fire. We had a loads of type 2 fun that day 😅
Let me know if you ever want someone to tagalong. Would love to learn from more experienced hikers.
Great view. Looks like a walk in the park 😅. Has anyone tried the summit in micro spikes?
Where exactly is this? I’m going to the coast this week I’m trying to find this place

I always chicken out at the top of the V1 Gumby Slab. I genuinely cant find anything to hold at the top. Nice video
