In all due respect Dornoch was the best that day,Sierra Leone got it his own way closed in slow fractions,yes the track was fast that day but it was a tiring track, Sierra Leone has a minor excuse but he also whacked a few horses into the Lane, Seize the Grey went the fastest 1/4 ever(he's a grinder not a front runner) and like JT said 3 races in 5 weeks ,with a 22.99 1/4 was tough, Mindframe could be 1 and done, If you need a guest star I'd be interested at no charge been handicapping and following horses since 1969.

Not another overrated Pletcher/Repole horse. Mindframe ran horribly in the stretch, even for a green horse. And you’ll never get better than 3-1 on him now. Talented for sure but not interested at the prices he’ll be going forward.

If Mindframe improves just a little he will be dominant running green in the stretch cost him winning the Belmont but after drifting wide in the stretch he came back again and just got beat closed out strong the horse has superstar written all over him SL is still a solid horse so he's near the top as well and the Japan horse these are the top 3 and of course the Oaks and Acorn winner the brilliant filly Torpedo Anna

Of course as of right now it’s Mystic Dan won Derby second in Preakness. I placed a late win bet on Dornoch did well he was a toss to me until about 10 minutes before race he was a toss to that point but the track was not favorable to deep closers and remembered he beat Serra Lieon as a two year old.

Track was playing for front speed congrats to the winner took advantage of the track bias Mindframe ran a hell of a race for only having 2 lifetime races under his belt my analysis of him was right on he's a legitimate freak him drifting out in the stretch cost him the win but what was impressive was he came back again after running green in the stretch

Going forward I think they should revisit the idea of running the Met Mile downstate on Memorial Day weekend. The Wilson Chute didn't turn out to be terrible, but the day didn't need that race in order to be successful. Running the Met Mile one more time would be a nice way to give Aqueduct the send off it deserves

The whole triple crown event did remind me of a turf race that had 5 horses hit the wire at the same time. Who to choose from the triple crown winners is the point. Bring Baffert back, please.

Would have been nice if Prat rode Sierra Leon at least once (even in training) prior to the Belmont. Trying to figure out a difficult horse on the fly never really works. Throwing out the previous two races Dornoch had wasn't me. One day I might learn to just bet the Tripple Crown Race undercards if I ever wish to win money. I didn't even see the repeat of last year's Preakness this year. Allowance and Maiden Special Weight races are my bread and butter until the Breeders Cup comes along. Know your limitations. Hard to tell how many years of life I have lost because of the free food and open bars in Tripple Crown parties. Four days after the Belmont and I still feel like I have been run over by a truck.

Dornoch looked Mindframe right in the eye and beat him fairly and squarely. Dornoch will beat Mindframe in the Travers next race as well because he is a fighter, and when you have his size, speed, pedigree, and stamina, the will to win factors into winning and Dornoch has it in spades. 18:52

This is who Sierra Leone is, he’s shown us time and time again. He has one move, he makes it going into the final turn, comes wide and then starts barreling in left, like a bowling bowl knocking over pins as he goes. He’s Tapit Trice but with a left lug. He’s been hyped as the best horse in the field for months now - he’s not the best horse, he’s the most EXPENSIVE horse in the field. Money does not equate quality, talent, or learning ability. Yes, Sierra Leone will probably get his win eventually, but he has some things to overcome. A different trainer is looking like the best route. Let Asmussen handle him, he has great closer’s in his repertoire and a less pompous and fake atmosphere with his operation than Chad. He clearly doesn’t know what to do with Sierra, wouldn’t be surprised if he puts him on turf .

Would of, could of, justifying/explaining, for so many of the favored ones that lose. They did that with Forte, Fierceness, and they will continue to do it with a few; this time, Sierra Leone, Mindframe. The great ones, like Zenyatta, don't need reasons when they lose. Because they keep winning, even with bad trips. The best performance of the day was by National Treasure in the Met Mile.
