My name is Annika Alexandra. I'm an artist, blogger, photographer, and filmmaker living on the beautiful northwest coast of Sweden.
On my TH-cam channel, I share moments of creativity, authenticity and connection with Sweden's beautiful coastal nature. I hope to inspire many around the world to prioritise their happiness, by embracing art & the magic of nature as a way to reconnect to their authentic selves.
After struggling with emotional burnout and autoimmune issues for years, I embarked on a journey of self discovery and personal growth by returning home to my childhood roots. Back to the land where my ancestors walked.
I call the journey I've embarked on the creative healing journey. A journey of healing through art, nature and heritage.
It is my personal belief that when we reconnect with nature, and embrace the emotional healing powers of art, can we then transcend & transform our minds & hearts to a place of peace, authenticity and harmony with ourselves and each other ꨄ

Welcome to my 1860 homestead on the beautiful west coast of Sweden. I am slowly settling in and gathering my energy to create art, and turn this house into a home. I have a lot of fun creative and house projects coming up. I'm so excited to share this journey with you, to share the beauty and mystical here, and share my creations with you.

I rewatched this video and tears swelled in my eyes within the first 2 minutes. The goosebumps and waves of emotion I feel that this is my new reality. It's a dream come true, and I made it happen! You can too!!! The feeling I have for my home, the fjord, and the island is so intense it almost hurts. But in a good way. I can't wait to express my love for this place. Just me and my camera.

At least u can get your cat to the vet. As soon as ours see the carrier under the bed she goes and u can't get her out. So kn I w we have to close all the doors in the house so she can't hide and getting her into the carrier is a nightmare and in the far she cries all the way to the vet.😊
Aww bless 🥰 Sounds like a whole process to take your cat to the vet. What about getting a bigger crate and putting treats in there while at home so s/he associates the new crate with positivity? 😻
@@annikaalexandra This crate is big but so is our baby. Oh well we do the best we can. She just lives her home so much she thinks that we are giving her away.

Love the tour of your house! And I also love how passionate you are about living on the coast 💕 I'm almost getting second thoughts of moving more inland haha. I did choke up a little bit when you started talking about art therapy and inner child healing. I do have many ideas, but lack the motivation to execute them. I also feel so uncreative for a long time. While I know it's there, I just can't somehow. But I hope soon it will be different when I move out of the city. Personally I'm not really into podcasts, because I'm more of a visual thinker and it's a bit harder for me to just listen? I get the urge to talk back 😂 But I think you should do it!
I'm glad you love the house! I will do a proper walkthrough once I have some furniture haha I will also show the land and the barns. It's a beautiful place where I feel I can safely dive deep into my creative bubble. I think that is priority number one for artists, to create a safe space to create in. I hope these words help you 🥰 It sounds like your heart is calling for Sweden. What a magical feeling that must be. I'm sure the decision carries fears and doubts. But try not to let them get in the way of what your heart longs for. What draws you to Jämtland? What inspires you the most? What makes you feel most alive? Mountains, lakes, forests, woodlands, sea? Perhaps that will help you decide? I've had to personally battle my way through a lot of personal doubts, but as we all know, as human beings we don't like change. We need to have enough passion or pain to move us forward. What do you think is getting in the way of you executing your ideas? I also struggle with this as an artist. I usually carry a notebook around where I just brain dump all my ideas, and try to pick 1-2 to focus on for the week or month (depending on what type of art I will create). But it's a daily battle with a part of myself that wants to procrastinate. I'm curious to know what art you like to create? I understand your desire to leave the city. I don't find the city inspiring at all. I studied art in London which was a great experience, but I struggled to create. I had no inspiration, too many ideas that came and went with doubt, and too much judgement around being graded in school. This is a big reason why I quit the course and pursued art on my own terms. Can you imagine an art school in nature!? That would be amazing! Where you learn to create without being graded, and surrounded by nature to reconnect with our true selves. Oh, the thought just gave me goosebumps haha I could talk about this forever. I'll definitely address these topics in future videos to help fellow artists overcome blockages and idea overwhelm that gets in the way of execution. Thank you for sharing, Eileen. I haven't seen many TH-camrs living near the coast in Sweden yet, so I think it's very unique! I'm also moving to Sweden in about a month, but also more in the north/middle in Sweden haha. Love your house by the way, it seems so cosy but also free in a way!

About the prices in Northern Sweden... This is AFTER the prices up here have gone up like crazy! Before Covid, the prices up here were way cheaper! Something that's out for sale today for about 800,000 SEK, could have been at around 300,000 before Covid, I feel like...😳 Anyway, I wish I was at good at English as you are! 😭😂
