As much as I love Peter Dinklage as an actor I think his inability to differentiate fantastical dwarfs from stories written long e.g Norse mythology, Tolkien etc from those who have the condition of dwarfism is rather hypocritical. Especially as he played a fantastical dwarf character in Narnia Prince Caspian. So why is it problematic and backward when lesser known actors with dwarfism have the chance to get their big break playing fantasy dwarves? At best it was a unfortunate lack of judgement and worst it could suggest he would rather remain the best known dwarf actor and doesn’t want competition when getting roles in either fantasy or real life dwarfism. A better way of going about approaching this stigma would be for him to support or act in smaller projects about the issues faced by those with dwarfism even if it doesn’t make him much money. Anyway anyone who wants to debate this, I encourage!
