Hey Lee! On a roll today. I will certainly take up your suggestions. I came across Zoroastrianism when studying Philosophy at university. As stated previously, I am currently reading up on Hermeticism which Connolly does advise as part of a foundational understanding of Demonolatry. Cheers m8! Sorry for the long replies, but I also had a very profound experience in which I realised that Satan also represents, or at least can, represent the choice and the responsibility to become self governing, self sufficient, independent and to break away from the paradigm of, for example choosing to believe and put one’s life in ‘God’ etc. This is a choice not to be taken lightly, or with naïveté, as it also comes with an enormous responsibility. In return for this choice, one becomes aware of the inevitable cycle of life, and of death, and every choice I make stops with me. The price of this freedom also comes with the price of ultimate knowledge. This might not make sense, but I do believe many reading this, especially those who have encountered the death daemonic, the spirits that are intrinsic to the natural cycle of life will understand that acceptance of this can be terribly overwhelming, frightening and above all lonely. Having agency over one’s life - and being one who seeks truth, authenticity and genuine knowledge and experience- isn’t all rainbows and lollipops. When things get really tough, there is no one or nothing to blame, one can take strength and comfort from one’s pantheon, and friends, yet ultimately alone, knowing there is no escaping the eternal cycle… that is the price. And what if death? Rejecting self assuring, comforting myths about heavens, no suffering and eternal peace…what lies beyond? Is there really a point? An innate purpose to this existence, is there a better plane of existence after this one, or do we just return from whence we came…. And no one will really care what you think say or do…can we escape this reality? If we try hard enough, dedicate ourselves long enough, is there a chance we can transcend this reality? What do they say? Ignorance is bliss?

Hi Lee, in response to your response to my question, I have since realised what I was actually trying to ask is what do modern Demonolaters believe specifically is the origin of Satan, especially if they reject the Judeo-Christian origin stories. I suppose I have my answer in part at least now, as I have been researching Hermeticism, and currently reading ‘the Hermitica lost wisdom of the pharaohs’ by Freke and Gandy. I have come to two conclusions: The first one is that Satan, if he be the ‘Creator’ could potentially just be another label for that particular type of deity and hierarchy. Hermes reportedly refers to ‘Atum’ the One-God etc, and this, as you know ( the Hermetica corpus and Hermeticism generally ) is the foundation for many subsequent belief systems, ideas, etc. can’t overstate that. I choose to go along with the tradition of modern Demonolatry for now, and the Dukante hierarchy, in which Satan is the Ether of all that is. Perhaps it’s very strength is the fact that nothing is really set in stone, there is not the same degree of dogmatism and didactic fanaticism in the literature that allows the individual to explore and eventually come to their own conclusions. I’m not sure what the future holds for Demonolatry, but if it ever were to become a major belief system, I’m convinced it would encounter the same or at least similar problems the major religions have suffered. This question has seemed to kick off a healthy discussion, and that’s good 👍

Having experienced possession; I have come to similar conclusions to Lee, and would add: This can happen to anyone who dabbles in occult magick without adequate training, preparation or knowledge. It can happen as a result of mental illness, which also can lead to, in my case, playing with occult magick as a child both for kicks and curiosity- as a result of drug abuse, unresolved trauma and desperation reaching out to a pentecoastal charismatic Christian church. I knew one of the pastors there, and he asked me if he could perform a ‘deliverance‘. I agreed, and during a large service, he and two other people sat around me and started to pray. I began to feel a strange internal feeling welling up, best described as anger, or extreme irritation. They began to chant in tongues, and I began to thrash around, speaking in tongues in classic popular demonic type voices. It was similar to being hypnotised: I was aware of what was going on, but also was unable to stop this particular outpouring. Afterwards the pastor told me I still had ‘demons’ within me, and that my family was cursed. I carried this belief with me for many years, and a couple of times, once during a therapy session utilised REM ( rapid eye movement, focusing on the therapist’s darting fingers) and another time during a chakra balancing session with a teacher of mine. The reason for me telling this, is that I strongly suspect that what can also happen - especially in the first setting I described- one feels a certain ‘obligation’ to play the part, so as not to disappoint the pastor, along with the pressure to conform to a special ritual. I’m not saying I just made up and performed, but I think the key here is it allowed me to express feelings deep-seated and repressed , anger, grief, sadness etc. That particular setting was the only place I felt it was not just safe but totally acceptable to let out and express all of my buried feelings. Was I possessed? Maybe, like Lee said, I have certainly had parasitic entities, as well as family members who had passed and for some reason attached to me. I also started experimenting with mushrooms a few years ago, and used to call on Dionysus to bless my experience with a prayer. I would sometimes start to shake uncontrollably, and feel like I didn’t have control of my body, very unpleasant. This didn’t stop until I dedicated myself to modern Demonolatry and began doing the proper research and practice, along with choosing a patron Daemon that this experience totally stopped. I hope that helps anyone, or at least gives someone an interesting read!

Yo guys, this is my first-ever comment, and I just wanna hype up King Clauneck real quick. Since the day I started focusing on King Clauneck, a lot of my stuck-up problems started getting sorted out. My mind feels lighter, my stress is down, and even my family vibes with me better now-they actually call me with respect, which is wild. It’s like magic. I will add some commentary and take from it what you will. The Watchers are interned within a densely dark pit. An extremely black darkness and so dense that it has a "weight" to it as if gravity is greater within this pit and objects within it have more weight. This pit is in an alternate realm distinct from our physical reality and likely not in what is considered the astral realm either. The Watchers are interned and move within the semi-opaque stone walls of this pit and do not move within the open space of the pit itself. Their present bodies are thin, gangly and dextrous. The demonic beings portrayed in the movie Constantine are the best representation I have seen thus far. An interesting scene in that movie is the exorcism scene in which the exorcised demon has to be interned into the two dimensional realm of a mirror. This resembles the interning of the Watchers within the semi-opaque stone walls of the pit in which they are actually interned. Upon further investigation it would seem the creator of Constantine was by comic book writer and ceremonial magician and occultist Alan Moore. It would seem whomever was behind the art direction for those demonic creatures in the movie were influenced by something beyond just their imagination. Regards.
