21st July, 1977 - The start of the Four Day War, a short border war between Libya and Egypt.
21st July, 1977 - The start of the Four Day War, a short border war between Libya and Egypt.
The Egyptian-Libyan War, also known as the Four Day War, took place between 21st - 24th July, 1977.
The conflict was brief but intense, involving military clashes between Egypt and Libya.
Tensions between Egypt and Libya had been escalating for several years due to ideological differences and personal animosities between the leaders-Egypt's President Anwar Sadat and Libya's leader Muammar Gaddafi. Sadat pursued a policy of peace with Israel and alignment with the West, which Gaddafi vehemently opposed.
The immediate cause of the war was a series of border skirmishes and mutual accusations of espionage and subversion. Tensions boiled over on this day, 1977, when Libyan forces fired artillery across the border into Egypt.
Over the next few days, both countries conducted air and ground operations. Egypt's superior military forces quickly gained the upper hand, penetrating deep into Libyan territory and capturing key positions.
While exact figures are disputed, the conflict resulted in significant casualties on both sides. There was also considerable damage to military infrastructure and equipment.
The war ended on July 24, 1977, primarily due to diplomatic interventions by other Arab states and the Organization of African Unity (OAU). Both countries agreed to a ceasefire and withdrew their forces.
The war led to a temporary cooling of relations between Egypt and Libya. However, the underlying issues between the two countries remained unresolved, contributing to continued regional instability.

It makes me mad that some black people still want racism to exist instead of making this country better. Why are white people always wrong.we did not stop you from being educated, you had your own schools that YOU burned you had the best medical care you could also have had smart houses with lush green lawns but no you would rather over breed and blame all your problems on the whites. Start pointing your fingers at your self and make your life better instead of a free ride by taking from the whites

Apartheid ended because the USA/UK withdrew their direct support for the Apartheid state after the collapse of The Wall/USSR. Apartheid’s survival was only possible because of that support. Reagan/Thatcher left De Klerk and the Nats no choice. A “referendum” was simply De Klerk’s way of “legitimising” the inevitable. He was no hero, none of them were. South Africa had simply outlived its geostrategic usefulness. The US/UK then meddled directly in influencing the boundaries of the negotiated settlement. It’s worth researching these realities by looking at the work of academics/hostorians who have accessed records in the USA, amongst others, through laws providing access to information.

Wasn't apartheid largely gone by that point? Yes, they should have ended all segregation and discrimination in where you can live and public accommodations. The problem with voting though, is that a straight majority rule destroyed South Africa. The ANC is basically a marxist terrorist party and the people werent ready to completely control the government. They should have slowly given blacks more of a political say, but educate them too.
