California Wildfire Message: One Team One Fight
Greetings everyone, we wanted to put a message together to announce a fundraiser that we set up this morning through the Red Cross to help bring aide and resources to the people affected by this fire devastation in Southern California. The fund raiser is not a requirement, or an obligation, but we wanted to do our part to try and help. If you are able to donate, that would be wonderful. If not, that is alright as well. Thank you all for watching our message, and I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.

Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes: Upcoming Movie Preview
That CGI still holds up.
There was a Star Trek story album I had as a kid that featured a story where the Enterprise comes across two massive starships fighting a battle. Both ships are completely automated and so advanced they can continually repair themselves and develop new weapons and defenses to ever stay in a stalemate. It reminded me a lot of The Doomsday Machine and Saberhagen's books.
I always liked the valley of guanji !!!!!
9:09 That is not Robert Ryan. That is James 'Jimmy' Stewart who was a major movie star for decades. At the time TOS was in production, the producers could not have afforded hiring Jimmy Stewart even if he had been interested in doing Sci-Fi.
MIke, So sad what happened to all those people. Rik Spector
Fred, welcome back to the channel my friend. It really is sad. But unfortunately, it is not the only tragedy going on. There are so many groups involved in providing relief, I'm not expecting the fund raiser we put together, to blow up. But just to be an additional avenue to provide some relief. Who knows, maybe our initiative with this will help provide some good. As always my friend, thank you for your comment, they are always appreciated. Have a great day, and we will talk soon. Mike
Need a few days but I'll come back this next Friday if that's okay. Marking my calendar now.
@@SerpentNight Thank you my friend. But there is no rush, there is no obligation. We just wanted to try to do the right thing with our TH-cam channel since we have a TH-cam channel, and we reach people. But do not feel like you are under any obligation, that was not the point of the video. The point was to give people some hope in the face of losing everything. And along the way, if we could help raise money to help these people out, that was the goal. If you can help or not, the fact that you responded to the video tells me you are a person of good character. Help if you can, but do not put yourself out. And if you can’t that is fine too. There is no stress here. The video was meant to generate awareness not stress, lol.
Thank you to all our viewers, please donate what you can afford, if is 1 Dll. it will make a great difference...Thank you all.

We are a very strong resilient Nation and we come all together as one. Blessings and thanks to the donors.
When you look at Sargon and the remaining beings recovered by the Enterprise, Sargon gives clues that they became so powerful they dare to consider themselves Gods! Now that opens up,a lot of speculation, not to mention the android Ruk played by Jack Cassidy, not to mention the Picard series that specifically states that when biological life forms get too advanced these interdimenional creatures clean them out? And it may have happened many times? In any case a device like the planet killer makes sense. Also the story plot isn't new, HP Lovecraft wrote about Azathoth, a living entitie that devoured entire world's. Lot to think about!
I just noticed that The Mysterians helmets resembles the Power Rangers helmet
DESTINATION MOON was not 2 years in production.
ist season was epic 2nd season was ruined by too many changes and killed the series had they left it alone I'm sure it would have ran much longer
I love Attack of the 50ft Woman, but it's a case where the poster was actually better than the movie itself.
Awwww you guys 🫂✌️ you did good 💖💥 Hard to believe sometimes it's been as long as it's been, what was Our briefing from this show, was taken from Us and We let them, Go figure 😵💫 Thanks for the video 📸 it was really nice 🙂💗
@dawnevans6775 Thank you for your comment. The Roddenberry Archive and the production company really did a nice job on creating this. There are more of these shorts on both the OTOY website and the Roddenberry Archive site, and if you watch them all, they actually tell a larger story. But all of them are put together with the same level of quality as the most recent one that I reposted here. Thank you for your comment, and stay tuned, there is more Sci-Fi to come. Have a great day. Mike
"lnvaders From Mars", one of the best. It was very spooky and sort of scary in a way with the idea of being suck into the ground. It was good enough for Hollywood to make a remake in the middle 1980. I think it was 1986. I saw the remake. Movie with a good concept, having aliens from another world living under ground.
No, The Incredible Shrinking Man from 1957? A big oversight imo as I saw the film again about a year ago and it really holds up well
And an incredible score by the late great James Horner
Your graphics are awesome!
One kf thw greatest showa of all time that i can still wnjoy today as mich as back when onqas young
Yeah. We all know the story. Do you plan to relieve the clickbait, and answer the question you asked to get us here, apparently to listent to you talk? ...endlessly? No? Gone.
Mike, Happy New Year, a great start for 2025. Bradbury's original story was in the Saturday Evening Post under the title "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms". My Dad had a subscription to that great magazine from 1944 until it's demise. That may be where I originally read the story . At the same time a movie "Monster from Beneath the Sea" was being filmed. The producers changed the title to the Bradbury one after buying the rights from Bradbury. Then Bradbury made a new title to the story, "The Foghorn". Bradbury got the idea after seeing the remains of an L.A. Rollercoaster. Your research, along with the fan contributor, is excellent and I have no doubt that our ancient ancestors memories were possibly an influence over time. Who knows what monster lurk in the heart of man, MIke Cosmic Knows:) Cheers, Rik Spector
@rikspector Welcome back to the channel Sir. I saw your comment last night and wanted to reply, but I was 10,000% invested in my Detroit Lions game last night. I'm glad you enjoyed this video. And to be honest, I would have probably never came up with this idea on my own. But another long time subscriber, and friend of the channel, @SerpentNight really provided some good information to build this video on, which became the core of the video. What I did was write a script to his research, and then I added additional elements around his core subject, to give the video some extra meat, like the Anthropologist piece speaking to the ancient world beliefs. So I wanted to be sure that the proper credit was given. This one was a complete team effort, and I'm glad it was because this one was a challenge, but very fun to do. I remember when I was really young, my Grandparents has issues of The Saturday Evening posts just stuffed into, what looked like a 1960s wooden magazine holder that sat low to the floor you set next to a recliner you would have to reach down from the chair while sitting to grab a magazine. You don't see those anymore. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and as always Sir, your comments are greatly appreciated. Happy New Year Sir, and I hope you and your family have a wonderful 2025. Have a great day.
@ Mike You are a good guy and write well as well as having great presence in front of the camera. Please call me Fred, I don’t feel like a “Sir”😁
@@rikspector Alright Fred, absolutely. But I will say I call you Sir out of respect. I know you have been with me and my channel since the beginning, and that to me is respectful. And based on our conversations I believe you and my father are probably in about the same age range. I was always taught to be respectful. To this day, and I think this should happen more often, when I see the parents of my childhood friends, addressing them is always Mr. or Mrs., Sir of Ma'am. I was taught that by addressing them by their first name is disrespectful. Also, if my father was in the room with me and I addressed you as Fred, my 80 year old, 130 pound Italian father would whoop my butt on the spot. Just to give you some context, it is always out of respect that I refer to you as Sir. With that said, since you are alright with it, I will defiantly call you Fred from here on out. Mike
Great work Ol’ Bud! It might be a stretch but we can probably connect Kevin Bacon in this! Lol suggestion for a video: maybe compare a novel with its movie rendition. Example: “Starship Troopers.” The book was written in the 50’s I believe and the movie in the 90’s. You can compare how the movie follows the book or doesn’t (I.e. “World War Z). I understand that you’d have to read the book, which may be something you don’t want to do, I get that, so it could be once a month thing or every 3 mos whatever. Just a suggestion! Love your channel, you hit all the things I want to learn about! Great work Sir!
@davebooth5608 Welcome back to the channel my friend. It's interesting that you bring up Kevin Bacon. I used the phrase "Connect the Dots' in the video, but my first thought was to reference the game, "Six degrees to Kevin Bacon". But I thought less people would be familiar with that reference. Connect the dots is pretty universal. That's a great idea about Starship Troopers. I have a similar one going along that line. The difference between the book the Fog Horn and the movie based on it, The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms. But I will defiantly put you idea on the list. I read Starship troopers years ago, I would defiantly have to read it again. But on that point, I haven't read the Fog Horn in decades either, so I don't mind doing a re-read. Thanks for the suggestion, and I hope you and your family have a great 2025. Have a great day. Mike
That was a fun-filled journey 🎉
@jonathanmartin-ives8665 Welcome back to the channel my friend. It's interesting to see how everything weaves together. But like I mentioned, I can't take credit for the idea, or for that matter a good portion of the research. But this was a fun project.
Hi.. Thanks for sharing 🖖🖖
@@billwolod7444 Absolutely, I hope you enjoyed the video. This one was a little tricky to put together. Thank you for your comment, and I hope you have a great Sunday. Mike
@ Thanks.. I am wondering did the Ray Bradbury short story: The Fog Horn have any influence on the Godzilla movies
@@billwolod7444 That's a great question. I guess the best answer I could give right now without having done any research on that topic as it relates to The Fog Horn. I would say, given the combined research that I did with the subscriber/contributor I mentioned in the video, If TOHO freely admits that The Beast was an inspiration for Godzilla, and the Beast was based on "The Fog Horn" short story, then I would say yes. But that's the real short answer. Now I'm curious. Let me do some digging on this to find a more complete answer. Great question. Mike
Amazing work and thanks for the recognition.
@@SerpentNight Thank you my friend. It was a great suggestion. And the research you had emailed to me was key to putting it together. There was absolutely no way I could not give you the credit that you were due. I hope, since it was your idea that it met your expectations. I did have more that could have gone into it like the 2023 DC Comics Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong. But that felt a little too far removed from the core topic, and was fitting in the video like a square peg in a round hole. So that two minutes went right to the cutting room floor, lol. Thank you again, and have a great Sunday. Mike
Cool story suggestion 👌
@@jonathanmartin-ives8665 Thanx. Some of it was Mike but I did send him an email laying out a good chunk of it.
@@jonathanmartin-ives8665 I was very intrigued by the idea when it was emailed to me. And as I was going through it with the research that @SerpentNight provided with what I was coming up with, the origin picture was starting to look like a board you would see on a police drama, with a board, push pins, and some string to connect everything to everything else, lol. Pretty fun little project. On a side note, if you read comic books at all, check out the DC comic Justice League vs Godzilla vs Kong. I’ve read the story highlights and summary, and it seems like a story I want to read completely.
~~ the 2nd film - "The Wrath of Khan" was great - but they could have done even better with a film based on the Doomsday Machine episode - not only exploring what race created it - and why - but earth & Starfleet facing many such machines - or even much larger ones capable of destroying stars - the possibilities would have been intriguing - when I first had my wife watch the original episode - she called the planet killer .. "the cornucopia of death " ..
@billyz5088 Thank you for your comment. I have always felt that way too. The Doomsday Machine would make a great movie. There are some interesting non-canon novels that give, at least at the time I made that video, three different origin stories. And all of them are good. Of the three my least favorite is the Development of the Doomsday Machine to defend against the Borg. Don't get me wrong, I think the Borg are a fantastic enemy, but for a movie idea, I don't think everything that has no explanation in Star Trek has to be there because of the Borg. With that said, if done correctly to include the Borg, I would still see it. If you give me new Start Trek to watch, I'm going to watch it. For example, I have no expectations of anything for the upcoming Star Trek Section 31 TV Movie coming out this month, but I am going to watch it. By the way, I love the cornucopia of death. That's hilarious. My wife says something similar, she says it looks like an evil Bugles snack that escaped the bag. Thank you for your comment, it is greatly appreciated, and stay tuned, there is more Sci-Fi to come. Have a great day. Mike
That is Ricardo Montalban's body because he was in astonishing shape and was bilingual because Spanish was his first language!
I read long ago that someone mused the thought that the Borg was from the Federation's future. I also read when someone said the Q created the Borg, but lost control of the Borg.
@rcabletn Thank you for your comment. Now those are interesting story ideas. I had not read either of those. I have read a lot of the non-canon novels, and honestly some of them should be canon. There are some really great stories out there in the books. But there are just so many of them to read. I am going to look through the Pocket Book Publishing Star Treks Novels and see if I can track these down so I can read them. You have piqued my interest with this, thank you. Thank you again for your comment, it is greatly appreciated, and stay tuned, there is more Sci-Fi to come. Have a great day. Mike
Thank you for sharing this incredible look at Godzilla’s 70th anniversary 🖖 Live long and prosper 🖖
I wonder if the Man from Planet X was an inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s E.T. ??
@billwolod7444 Thank you for your comment. I'm not exactly sure on that one. But I seem to remember reading while doing research for one of the 1950s Sci-Fi videos that I have done that it was, at least, part of the inspiration for E.T. Thank you for your comment, it is greatly appreciated. And, stay tuned, there is more Sci-Fi to come. Have a great day. Mike
Here's a comment. What a waste of time Your feelings are disingenuous to the point of being transparent. This list of movies are neither underrated nor underappreciated, they are just bad movies. No amount of verbal diarrhea on your part is going to change that. Please stop posting on youtube.
Thanks!
@vonzigle Thank you so much for your continued support of our channel. I can not express how appreciative I am for your donation. I am glad that the videos I am creating merit such high praise. Thank you again for your generosity and kindness. Have a wonderful day. Mike
The Borg are NOT the reason for everything bad in the galaxy. Please expand your imagination.
There was one movie I saw as a kid. Two planets were battling over Earth. Each were meant to send four warriors to battle it out, but one side cheated and sent five. The extra masquerading as a women, nothing new there then, who when the last of the eight warriors revealed himself to her, killed him. Hence the planet that cheated won the war. Don't know what the film was called unfortunately, as I'd like to try and get a copy.
@tonyhaynes9080 Thank you for your comment. That sounds interesting. I'm not sure what that one is. Let me see if I can do a little research and shed some light on this. Mike
Thanks!
@@vonzigle Thank you so much again for your continued support. It is very much appreciated. Is there something you would like to see us do, I would be happy to do it. Again, thank you for your support, it is greatly appreciated. Mike
It was a very sorrowful moment when Sandra sent the final transmission 20 years ( 2019) by Mayas technology. They had to migrate from the moon because Moonbase Alpha could no longer sustain the inhabitants. A planet was encountered due to a slingshot effect ,which their only window to evacuate...
As a Star Trek fan from the beginning.....this touched me deeply. so Beautifully done. Thank you.
The machine would have actually been fairly small compared to even an Earth-sized Planet. Still, to see that thing slowly eating away at the Planet would be terrifying!
Brilliant matte paintings, miniatures, and lighting. However, Chekhov's pilgrim costume is ridiculous.
@SpockvsMcCoy Thank you for your comment. The entire stealing the Enterprise scene is priceless. The musical score added to the scene, in my opinion cements the entire scene. Now, I'm with you on Chekov's costume. Everytime I see a can of Dutch Boy paint I think of him. Thank you again for your comment, it is greatly appreciated. And, stay tuned, there is more Sci-Fi to come. Have a great day. Mike
