Thanks for stopping by! I've been a professional photographer for 15 years, and a good portion of that time has been working with Photoshop. My channel is a collection of Photoshop tutorials that will hopefully help photographers retouch their images quickly and obtain their vision using the available tools that Photoshop provides. 99.9% of my work is "action free" and "plug-in" free. I used to be an action junkie! I purchased thousands of actions over my career, however, they never gave me the look I wanted, instead, they only helped my work look like everyone else's.
I hope you enjoy my videos! Leave me a note if you have questions! I'm happy to help! Rob

Change the color anything in Photoshop!
hello. your video very usefull.
Using a green screen soon for the first time. It's not a professional shoot but it's important to friends so I want to do it right. This video has been incredibly helpful, thank you!
Awesome...let me know if you need any help!
Great video, thanks a lot. What distance do you recommend between the model and the background? what about the position of the light for the background, do you keep it close to the model's back or closer to the background itself?
This was something I have been wanting to do. Your video is very easy to understand is very helpful.
This was SO helpful! Great walkthrough, easy to follow along and understand. Good tempo. Thank you!
Amazing, That's want I will looking for Thanks Rob
Amazing , that's was I was looking for , Thanks Rob
hi Rob this is a very helpful video. Thanks a lot!
whoa. I just changed my entire chroma keying work to this method, Mr Sigler. I have been using Luminar AI as a stand alone and another chroma key software, but this is so more refined. This solves my baby blonde hair against a green screen problem! You're a good teacher. Thumbed up and subscribed. Such a find!
Definitely saving this video for future reference. Awesome tutorial! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I needed to update this post, after a little bit of back and forward on my Mac, it IS working after so many years!!! You made my day, my month, my year!!! I would like to know what photographers do these days, are there other AI apps/systems thart can help to do this job? 🤔🤔🤔
Great tutorial. Obviously PS now has some powerful tools for background selection but your techniques are still relevant.
Outstanding! Thank you!
I have the move tool selected - however holding the option key down I cannot duplicate the boxes?
We're going to be using is there a way to put the name under the image
Wow that is a fantastic technique. I did some headshots today on a green screen and this produces high quality results with little complexity and minimal effort! Thank you for the video.
Isn’t it better to smooth the backdrop physically first before shooting than virtually in PS? Will you do this in each photo instead of using smooth backdrops right in your studio?
well, true, but it's not always possible to use a perfectly smooth background.
Best one I saw I will try this tomorrow 😊
great video! Can I ask about the green screen, what's the difference between using a green screen or just a random wall. does the editing process change at all?
Rob, thank you. I was unaware of this ability and tool within PS. I'm working on an idea for my local rodeo and this has given me more ideas. Thank you !
Awesome!
Rob, thanks for this tutorial!
This is the tutorial I was looking for. Combined with the new features of photoshop...this is quickly doable now. I already have luminar 4 as well!! Thank you!
Hi! How do you have all of your images on the right to drag into the composite? I can’t figure out how to do that, I only see how to open photos one at a time.
I am stuck. I don't have the K option in that command. What to do?
Thank you so very much for this informative video, Rob. I needed to do this exact thing. It appears that someone has tampered with your template. Would you be able to make available the correct Google Sheets template again?
OMG and HALLELUA!!!!! This is AMAZING. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!
Thank you sir,it helpd me understand the concept of PS very nice 😊👍
Hello, it's been a year since I've used your video here I do School Pictures and I'm creating class pictures. This was very helpful last year and I'm assuming it's going to be even more helpful this year. Right now I'm trying to click shift and move Frame's together or apart and when I do that I don't have any of the tools that you have at the top of Photoshop. I'm using Photoshop 2024 and I don't have those tools. How do I get them back Thank you. Mark
Thank you so much Rob for the very informative and helpful tutorial and tips! God bless you and good luck!
Thank you
Does this still work?
Excellent! Love the hair brushing technique, really simple and worked a treat 👌🏻
Great to hear!
I have the stand alone version of Luminar Neo. It works great. And, Luminar is a Ukranian company, so buying their products helps the Ukranian economy, which is needed.
can you change the shape of the frames
Thankyou so much, so easy to follow
You’re welcome 😊
This blew my mind. I had no clue you could do this so quickly. I used to do all this manually, and took me HOURS!! Thank you for making this video!!
Hi Rob, It's been three years...are you still excited about green screen backdrops? I'm venturing in this direction (on your advice from this video!) and I was wondering if time has changed your mind at all? Thank you!
Yes! I've done some testing using green screen vs. grey paper, white paper...and green always wins. I now use Pixnub's EZ Green Screen and it is amazing.
Thank you
Could you maybe do a separate video or quick explanation on that luminar filter you used? Thanks!
what program do you use
Just photoshop now. The “select subject” tool is sooooo good now, it has changed my workflow.
Hi Rob, I see this video is from 3 years ago and I'm wondering if I'm not doing something right or if PS has been updated (I'm using PS 2023). When I use the ellipse tool, it only has the marching ants and doesn't create the separate layers. How do I create the separate layers?
Awesome!
Sir, do you have New method for this?
The general concept of this approach still works. You can get a barcode scanner, and zap it at the picture of the QR code to rename your files. I currently use SmartShooter by Tether Tools, zap the QR code with my barcode scanner, and it types the name of the file while shooting tethered. When not shooting tethered, I use Photo Mechanic and import using one subject per camera folder. This way I don't even have to scan codes.
Grrr, the LR barcode from Capture Monkey no longer works with LR, is there an alternative anywhere else???????
It works for me in LR Classic on Mac, July 2024. I had to install the plugin manually through the Plugin Manager in LR, and give permissions when using for the first time. To get around it being from an 'unidentified developer', I had to run it to the point where Apple wouldnt let it run, cancel it, then go into System Settings>Privacy & Security>scroll down to Security and where it says to 'allow anyway' (this only shows up after trying to run it first). It then ran fine the next time. Hope this helps.
OMG! Where have you been?!! ;-) Thank you so much!!! I knew there had to be a way to do this fairly easily, just didn't know how. This helps a ton!!!!
Lol...I'm glad it helped. :)
Hi Rob, thank you for the great tutorial. I am able to get to 1:20 where I select the move tool and V but it doesn't duplicate anything, it only drags what I selected to the other side. I'm new to Photoshop, what am I missing with the hold down option? Thank you!
Hi Amanda...you need to hold down the option key on your keyboard before you click and drag. Hold it down the entire time. I hope that helps! Rob :)
@@RobSigler Thank you so much, it worked great! You have saved me HOURS of work at my job and I appreciate you.
Hello Rob, I did not know this tool existed. Question: In addition to adding the images to the composite, I need to put the student's last name and first initial under their photo. Is there a simple wat to do this, perhaps by creating a text box, duplicating and filling (or auto filling) it? I have 191 students on a 24"x36" composite.
Hi Gil! I wish there was an easy way, but I'm afraid there isn't. Perhaps you could find someone on Fiverr to create a photoshop script? Just an idea. Best of luck!
Wow! Thank YOU! Wish I knew these years ago! ...but now! :D
Very appreciative of this video learned a lot
Nice!
Thanks for this video. I'm finally niching doing to portraits and have always wondered about green screen. Your video is right on time.
