Milwaukee M18 7-1/4” Compound Miter Saw
มุมมอง 11Kปีที่แล้ว
When I looked for reviews on this one I saw bad reviews and it almost made me not buy it. I’m glad I ignored them. The 5 minutes of unboxing is what lead me to have this idea, for a channel that only reviews real, used, tools without unboxing and fluff, just straight to the point honest reviews. Milwaukee M18 7-1/4” compound miter saw Key points: calibration is off, bevel does not lock on any p...
$100 5+ year old Makita worth it?

Bought this saw off a great friend and carpenter who’s used it daily for around 5 years and he’s ready to move on, lucky me $100 and it’s mine. Real tools and real reviews, mean real job sites, voiced over because the job was too loud, hope you enjoy. Thanks, Jake
The tool that made me go with Milwaukee over DeWalt…not worth it though
มุมมอง 327ปีที่แล้ว
This tool was the deciding factor in the DeWalt vs Milwaukee debate when I was building my tool line up. I highly encourage a single “ecosystem “ or tool brand for batteries and while I am still very please I went Milwaukee, the first generation of nail guns were very disappointing. I had the 15ga nailer as well, repaired it twice before it found the dumpster, it wasn’t much better. Any have th...

    I've had this and worked great for 3 yrs and then now when we use it, just sprays water weirdly, like there is too much pressure. I wonder if this would fix that or if it's something else? Or maybe that degraded...?

      I would definitely check the valve and make sure there's no sediment in it, and go all the way back to your supply line as well. There should be a screen in the fitting there, that over time can get clogged up by sediment in your water. If nothing else is working and you're only getting water it may be a computer related issue and that one is beyond me, sorry.

    I ended up ditching this saw. Too heavy and cumbersome, went to fix the locking mechanism and it instantly broke. Overall not a great saw, moving on to the next one

      I do not have a part number sorry. It would be worth calling them and telling them you're missing it they may send you one for free or on the cheap with shipping and handling.

    I have the same saw it’s been great except for one thing. The fence isn’t square to the deck and there’s no adjustment for that that I’ve found. So cutting anything vertically is a problem

    • @craftedbyjakehhi
      @craftedbyjakehhi 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You mean the welded fence to deck connection isn't square, so when you put a square on the deck it's not square with the fence? Yeah that's a non-adjustable and worth chasing down the warranty. We have a local shop that helps with that or I've contacted them directly in the past for warranty things.

    Hi! Great video. I purchased a used one, and it didn't have the manual. How do you lock the blade to change it?

    • @craftedbyjakehhi
      @craftedbyjakehhi ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the delayed reply. That is a great point I missed! On the opposite side of the screw in the middle of the blade there is a small black metal button that you press as you unscrew the blade and it'll engage the lock.

      @@OKORPE definitely the 6-1/2”. It’s plenty powerful.

    • @craftedbyjakehhi
      @craftedbyjakehhi ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I'd say for simple handyman stuff if you're trying to keep your set up compact you'll be fine with 6-1/4, but get the M18 if you're cutting through 2x material. The 7-1/4" is the most standard size circular saw, but you'll really only miss that extra bit when cutting 4x4's. If you get the M12 it'll do fine for most 1x material, but that's it. Also note what your stores around carry for blades it may be harder to find 6-1/2" in a diverse selection compared to 7-1/4". Cutting technique tip you may or may not know, if the saw is struggling you can pick up the back end of the saw slightly and that'll help it power through. You also use that if you drift from your line and are trying to correct mid-cut.

      I just realized you may be asking Ryobi vs Milwaukee...I haven't had time to do that video yet, I did use a buddies Ryobi stuff for a week and was very surprised by how well they did. The 18ga battery nailer was great. Saws did well, Milwaukee does have a bit more power especially in the miter, but no complaints. I'm thinking about getting Ryobi just to beat up for a year and review because I want to see how the tools hold up more than the immediate out of the box quality.
