Excellent guide! Somehow I managed to win the first encounter with this speciment with brute force and zero skills - spamming a few dozen bomb arrows. I didn't even knew about flurry rush 😂

Every time the enemy jumps to separate from you and prepare some kind of special attack what I do is: stasis to paralyse him, then aim with shock arrow, shoot when he is free from stasis and then whe shocked atack. So basically if you do four parrys and then this you get to his last phase attack (beam) very easily. Thanks for your video!

using upgraded stasis and spin attacking the guardian scout is my strategy

As a visually impaired gamer, these are way more difficult for me due to the fact that I have a higher chance of missing the timing for rushing some attacks, and parrying the beam. Therefore, I usually have to cheese it in order to pass. I'm going to try them when they're the last shrines left so I'm way more prepared.

It is pronounced “MAY-lay”, not “MEE-lee”. It undercuts your credibility pronouncing a key word wrong.

I can deflect normal guardian beams, but for some reason it never, ever works for me on these little guys.

I have so much trouble with the timing of parrying the final laser. I have practiced with wild stationary guardians but the never been able to reliably parry shrine guardian lasers 🤦

the Major test of strength shrines are 100% the hardest enemy

Wandered into one of these today with 3 hearts, shit weapons, and no shield. Just play safe and patient and you’ll be fine

I am VERY bad at side and back hopping, so flurry rushes aren't my thing. Thanks for the other method. Managed to beat a Major test with only 4 hearts. Edit: Also, bring an electric weapon with you if possible. Use it once to stun them, then switch to another weapon to hit them while they're still stunned. This made all other test of Strength incredibly easy. It was almost unfair.

the way i do it is ice arrow then shock arrow again and again until they die

I couldn't handle those as I'm still kind of early in the game, but after watching this tutorial I did two of those major tests with much less effort! Thank you, very much appreciated :)

Another tip: When there are no pilars, but the floor is water, use Cryonis to create pillars to stop the spinning attack

I actually thought this was like the last shrine guardian i fought but the moment i saw the 2 weapons and shield it weilded i knew i was up for a challenge. It was nerve wracking for me. I survived but i knew i performed horribly. So here i am watching strategies so that i'm more well prepared next time.

This is a very old video, but I just wanted to thank you! recently got back into games and when botw went on sale since the sequel is righr around the corner, I knew I had to get it. Not only is your way of explaining extremely entertaining, but you actually took the time to tell us the "tells" and what moments we need to time, unlike other guides I've seen out there. I had several major tests of strength just sitting there, even did all the divine beasts first, and now that I *know* I find them... surprisingly fun?? Like. I ran to all of my free ones and did them all with just one death (misstimed the final laser, oops)! Since its my first playthrough and I'm not in a rush, I chose not to trade stamina vessels for heart containers, and now that I completed these last test of strengrh shrines I'm finally strong enough to get the Master Sword!!! :D Thank you sm!
