ABS on. TC comfort. ESP off. Drift Assist comfort. Plane Assist on. Stunt Assist comfort. I've tested all combinations of settings and found those to be the best overall settings when factoring in advantages/disadvantages for all classes. If I could run different settings per class, the offroad classes I'd use Sport instead of Comfort settings. And Plane Assist is better with it off actually, but I haven't bothered to put time into learning planes.

Anything that gives you more control is better (aka manual). Anything that limits control is worse (aka automatic). There's not a big difference between manual and automatic in terms of pace because slip-stream makes up for any small time loss that an automatic player vs manual or manual w/clutch player would have. If you're limiting something then it's going to harder to compete at the top level, but not impossible. Just means more time improving other areas of driving, such as not drifting too much, better nos managment etc.

Thanks! Because 85 linearity is closer to flat linearity (50) it's easier to be more precise with the amount of steering input at greater angles (which is the big downside to running 100 linearity). Overall, I've wanted to use lower linearity for a while because I've always known that having it as close to 50 as possible is best, but couldn't due to not having a precise enough controller. Now I can, so I'm quite happy about that. I (like many and most other sweats) first started learning wheelmode at 100 linearity and even that was a challenge with the sensitivity of the middle of the stick on controllers that have their own slight hardware deadzone (Xbox is about 5% and PS is about 1 or 2%). The option with this controller to remove the deadzone completely in it's settings, plus combined with the hall effect sensors, makes driving such a joy now. It's always a good thing to have more control over how close your inputs match the action that happens on screen.

@@R3VV3NG3 You can't. It's a Ubisoft overlay bug with v-sync enabled where the 60 fps is counted twice. But it's still 60 fps.

@@MomoNini-dx1yd It's just a Ubisoft overlay bug with v-sync in game enabled. It's not actually 120 fps. Just counting the frames twice for some reason. The in game benchmark still only gives a 60 fps result.

The controller is an 8BitDo Pro 2 Wired Controller with Hall Effect Stick and Triggers (very smooth and precise + reactive feeling). And I changed to 85% steering linearity from 95% steering linearity (cause the controller is precise enough for it). Guttering is so much easier with lower linearity. It's only the fast high speed corners that require extra finesse with the increased sensitivity.

Fully agree. I'm not a 85 year old with Parkinsons disease needing 40% deadzone for my wobbly, unstable fingers... When I even so much as touch the stick, I want the car to move ASAP. I play with 0 deadzone in multiple games and have no issue with stick drift or the steering being too sensitive. Rather, I get to use the full 100% of my stick instead of just 65% of it or whatever is leftover after the deadzone. Thus allowing me to be much more precise and accurate with my inputs. It's a consumer right to buy a controller to be used like a controller. Not a keyboard. Tap steering on controller defeats the purpose of owning a controller for smoother, more graident and controlled steering inputs. May as well just play on keyboard at that point. Amazingly however, even keyboard has the same deadzone as controller... No point having a gaming keyboard for faster key actuation when the key is only activating after pressing it down 25% of the way already...

@@Tesseract69 totally man. there are plenty of games out there that can use deadzone all they want and many times it suits their needs, but driving games not having an option of completely removing the deadzone is very bad because we rely on the precision and smoothness that only no deadzone can provide... it's a given in any serious driving game, even simcades. funny enough TC2 lets us change all that and more while having a clearly inferior game engine

@@Khan__Farhann I haven't seen Zookiwii in a GR (me or other people) but I have seen Zerio in several GR's (other people. I haven't raced him myself yet). And the top 5 fastest players is impossible to say. I'm still seeing new names I haven't seen before who are surprisingly quick. Also different servers/times people play makes it harder still to know everyone who is fast. The people Spoonah mentioned are just some of the more well known names. It's much easier to say who were the top racers when the game first came out. They were Niconuen, Predaking, Blu9ty, ElChano, Goliath, Saiko. Predaking had consistency and Niconuen had raw pace. Wheelmode came about because of Predaking trying to keep up with Niconuen (who was on wheel, while Preda was on controller).

Ubisoft overlay bug with v-sync enabled. For some reason, it doubles the fps amount shown, not sure why. When measuring fps from other overlay's i.e. Nvidia Shadowplay, MSI, OBS etc it shows only 60 fps. So it's just another Ubisoft bug lol. My old videos don't show 120fps cause I always had V-sync off. I only turned it on recently.
