The Core Teaching of the Buddha – The Four Noble Truths - with Venerable Nyaninda
Four Noble Truth is a profound and noble solution to all our problems in life. It is a reality that can be practically realized in every moment of our daily lives. It is the core and first teaching of the Buddha.
** About the speaker **
Ven. Nyaninda is a graduate in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Sydney University, Australia. He received Higher Ordination as a Bhikkhu (monk) under Sadhammaramsi Sayadaw in 2004. He had received serious contemplative training under Pak Auk Sayadaw in the Myanmar Forest Tradition. He had spent many years practicing in Myanmar, India, Nepal and Germany. He finds that studying the original words of the Buddha according to the system of Listening, Contemplating, Meditating has greatly enhanced his understanding and practice of the Dhamma. Before becoming a monk, he had practiced under various Buddhist traditions. Currently he is the spiritual advisor of Buddhist Missionary Society Malaysia (BMSM) Youth Section and the BMSM Kajang Annual Teenage Camp.

The Mastery of the Buddha’s Instructions - with Sister Paññasiri
มุมมอง 11628 วันที่ผ่านมา
The Buddha praised the mastery of instruction over the mastery of psychic power and the mastery of telepathy because it leads to noble attainment and culminates in complete liberation. Lay people received gradual instructions from the Buddha and attained the fruit of stream entry and more. Now more than 2,500 years after the parinibbāna of the Buddha, if we have faith or conviction in the Buddh...

Interesting topic. I was thinking about this the other day.. How do the different Asian Buddhist communities in Los Angeles react to Latinos that take interest in Buddhism? Some Sri Lankans are known to be very open to others But I personally never heard of Thais, Cambodians, Burmese etc etc ever being open or reaching out to Latinos or others.

Thank you, Metta Centre, for making this talk available. Brother Phap Hai's directness and clarity do not just teach; they also inspire confidence and trust. I'm delighted to have discovered this remarkable and enchanting place where the nuns reside. All the nuns were very welcoming, responsive, radiating joy and tranquility. Recently, I attended a gathering with Ajahn Brahm and learned about this monastery. The atmosphere is truly extraordinary, with fresh air, mountains, and forests creating a serene environment. I felt at home during my visit. The monastery also features an amazing cave housing a Buddha, reportedly carved from stone by a nun around 15 years ago (apologies if the information is not entirely accurate). The cave exudes incredible energy, and I was fortunate to meditate there. I will definitely return to this haven of peace.❤🙏🏼

Well if you aren't already aware, Buddhist Nuns are not financially supported by the Sangha, they have had to ask for donations from laypeople in order to actually secure a Vihara. So many women would love to become Nuns but theres almost no support, so having facilities for women and children to stay, how??? These nuns are struggling as it is, it's not their fault. Supporting THEM is what is needed. In this age of 'what can I get,' how about helping them?

I will beg to differ on the "rise of nationalism" ... there has been a rise in globalism and a response by people to preserve their cultures. This does not imply conflict. The reason we can enjoy these amazibg teachings and the various Buddhist cultures is because someone preserved them from being obliterated by misanthropes similar to those who are directing the world today.
