Do you ever wish you to be like your favourite TH-camrs but feel a little discourage when you don't have their fancy degrees or go to fancy unis? That's how i felt for the longest time. I used to feel very insecure about where I went to uni. In Hong Kong, it seems like where you go to university defines who you are. We even have stereotypes of what people in each uni are like. But I didn't want...

Hey! If you don't mind me asking, where did you stay during your term in Milan. I am going to Bocconi for my Masters and would love some recommendations.
Hey glad you found my video!! I stayed at Crocetta Station, which i think is the closest station to Bocconi. It is a 15 minute walk, or a 5 minute scooter ride away, plenty of Lime scooter for rent (rent on Uber app). You can check out my video breaking down the specifics including the website to find a flat! th-cam.com/video/7IO5o4eJfgM/w-d-xo.html
Dear can you mention the rent ??
Hey! I am going to Bocconi this upcoming semester and was wondering where you travelled and how important accomodation is (I'm trying to weigh up price/location/modern). I saw in the video you said it was important to live near a metro station. I had a look at living near the Duomo but it is quite expensive. Also any other general tips? Thank you!! Also by any change do you have a list of places to go to/avoid too or recommendations etc?
How was your experience with spot a home since I’ve seen a lot about people saying their experience was bad or got scammed by landlords or spotahome?
I personally used it and think this is a relatively safe/efficient option amongst all the other platforms, which either are for long-term rent or has low response rate. Spotahome does charge a lot of platform fees and landlords may try to take advantage of you. The platform fee is unavoidable unless you try facebook groups (if you have a friend in the area could ask them to check it out, or ask the landlord to do a video call so you know such place exists). If the landlord wants to overcharge, be sure to know your contract inside out, whether bills are included etc, damages. take a video of your apartment to show that damages are already there when you move in etc... take all precaution.
好靚女
LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE this video!!! THANK YOU! I'll be studying at bocconi this coming year for exchange and this was so insightful x
soo happy to hear !! wishing you the best best best of time ahead :)))
*promosm* 😂
Do hongkong law firms hire people who graduated from a hongkong law school But dont speak mandarin or cantonese??
The million dollar question! From what I hear almost never happens. I know people who’s gotten to the final interview for vacation schemes but was rejected because of language. I also know non Chinese speakers who are trainees but very rare. And especially now they are hiring more native mandarin speakers (across the legal sector, even paralegals). So might be a good thing to work on the languages if you already have so basics
Hi Sofia, I recently got an conditional offer from city U law school but am bit worried if I would be able to get a job after my degree. Do you perhaps know any insights to the employability of the degree and school? I am an local non-jupas and my chinese isn’t so good.
Hey Michelle congratulations on the offer! I would say graduates (from what I know) have gone on to work at mostly local firms, some do land internships at larger international firms. However, without speaking Chinese it is quite difficult to get jobs in the legal industry in HK at the moment. Send me a message on instagram @sofiachx and I can tell you more :)
What sites to use to find nice apartments?
I used Spotahome personally, but they do have an expensive platform and others fees to pay
I wish you success in your life. I am Ali from Morocco
It's a badea. Like I mentioned before Americans don't know what a badea is and we only have fond memories of public transit
Hello, Sofia, Have you left COCM?
Hey just saw your comment! Yes I have finished my volunteering term and figuring out my next step!
How did you get accommodation in Aparto Resident? Is it hard to get a spot?
I didn’t get an accommodation in aparto I was too late 🤣 I rented mine for four months on Spotahome. You can watch my video I talked about this more: th-cam.com/video/7IO5o4eJfgM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jKZzSPZlcX5SqWIn
Are most the University classes in English? Also how affordable is Italy?
Hey thanks for watching:) Yes most of them are in english, especially for exchange students. For full time students I know for their programs they are separated into english and Italian. I think the cost of living in milan is similar to most big cities, maybe a bit cheaper. You can check out my “all you need to know about milan exchange” video. I think average it’s around €1800-2500 month, including rent. Cheapest €1000.
Reaching what you want that is much more important! I promise that enjoy life, just like Elon musk, warren buffet etc, just passionate about what you want to achieve!
add oil, same as yours. I graduated in cityu, and now become senior Vice-president in global bank. it really depends on result what you have achieved. Maybe our starting line behind those from Oxbridge, but still have so much time to chase. For example, I have got 100million worth fortune, but still want to do what I really want. I still love and being pound of being cityu grad and serving the community.
Thank you so much for sharing! This really encourages me to be authentic and share my experience more :) Glad to see your heart in serving others 😊 I hope you find what you want to do ultimately and pursue it passionately!
always inspiring to see people break the mold and follow nontraditional career paths outside of their degree!!! cant wait to see what u do in the future :)
🤩🤩 thank you!! I'm also excited to see as well haha, gonna take it one day at a time
hi! what program were you doing?
Hey! I was doing Bachelor of Laws in Hong Kong
P r o m o s m 🤭
cool, how much u made while working as intern?
personally it ranges from $6,000/month +. There are some unpaid legal internships that would get your university to sign a waiver for meeting the minimum wage requirement. You can DM Brian on instagram @mckbrian_ if you want to know about the red circle law firm pay!
@SofiaChiu isee, so it is really about learning but not for wages, right
Hey Sofia, I loved this video. By the way would you recommend staying in on campus in their dorms/residence or is renting your own place on spot a home better?
If it’s possible definitely get the dorms, you’ll meet more people that way. They have many activities too. The environment and utilities is also much better for the price, around 500-800. But registration starts really early and is very competitive 😂
Ah well That's a "bidet" (read bidé)And you sit there facing the wall and-- you wash your private parts ._.
Hello Sofia, would you mind sharing the total expenses you've incurred for the exchange, including accommodations?
Hey glad you asked! Message me on instagram @sofiachx let me get back to you there :)
I love this so much!! Good job Sofia!
Like your story and inspiring remarks! Thx for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it 😍
what are you studying? <3
Hey thanks for watching! Sorry didn’t check the comments earlier. I studied law in uni, but in milan I chose some different courses. It’s always a good idea to branch out more in uni times. In my undergrad, we could choose elective courses. So outside of law (70%), the remaining 30% I took business, sustainability, philosophy, entrepreneurship, architecture courses.
Nice sharing! 加油加油💪
Love your law videos as well!! Any new ones coming up soon ?
@@SofiaChiu Thanks👍🏼editing the new one right now🥵🥵
The only true fact is the bidè the other is your strange house
I am new in law courses.. and find it really draining and helpless when reading the tons of notes. Thanks for sharing
Glad you found it helpful!! I definitely struggled a lot in the beginning as well. You'll definitely find a way through this, cheering you on :)))
Hope you can make those deadlines im cheering you on:)
your doing well
om i love your style of vlogs
