Awesome work! It's gorgeous! A couple of nuggets... I also built my own paint booth and there have been a couple of lessons learned along the way. No matter what kind of filter I use, inevitably some paint particulates and atomized solvents make it past the filter. As such, I've seen some paint buildup on the squirrel cage fan blade. Unfortunately, while a HEPA filter would mitigate most of that, a small fan isn't going to have the CFM to pull air through a HEPA filter that large. So, you definitely want the ability to remove the fan blades/cage periodically to soak it in paint remover to clean them. Clean blades/fan = better efficency. Also, ensure your fan motor is isolated from the airflow, as sparking on the motor could potentially ignite atomized solvents in the air stream. I've mostly switched to water based acrylics so that addresses the solvent issue.
Hey hey Bill looking nice man
Hey Shane!!! Great to hear from you!!! It's gettin there!!! Take care, Bill
What a beautiful piece Bill. Elegant and functional. 👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks John!!! It's going to be the start of a small bench remodel. Take care, Bill
Hi Bill, Sunday at 4 pm my time. I’ll be there. 👍
just found this this needs so much more recognition!!!!
Thanks very much!!! It's going to be fun to get it finished!!! Take Care, Bill
Looks great so far. You’re definitely going to put that booth to work when it’s done. Hope you and yours have a great day.
Thanks Metal Slug!!! It's getting so close, I'm getting excited to see it on the bench!!! Take Care, Bill
I bought a kit once for air, brushing your nails, and I made such a frigging mess! 😂 I didn’t realize how much it would blow. I still don’t understand how anybody does their nails with the kit that I bought. Because hell.
Hi Angela!!! I have one I have used for years and it's not bad, but I always knew it was not what I wanted. What did you finally do? I never thought about some of the fumes and dust from nails, thats got to be an issue. I hope you are well, Taker Care, Bill
Used a bathroom box fan looks like? You gonna put a filter on there? Assuming the filter is dense enough to grab particles of paint you wouldn’t even need to vent it outside
Yup, I have large 20x20 M11 and M16 filers to test. Basically the entire back wall on the left will be a filter. I have a dryer vent that will go through the wall and exhaust outside after passing through the filters. Thanks for checking it out. Take care, Bill
Outstanding work Bill. What did you think of the Third Man shadows ?
Thanks John!!! I havent watched it yet, but definitely have it on the list. Are we due for a call on Sunday? Not sure if you have the time but if you can I would love to catch up. Tell me if you are available and we can set it up!!! I hope you are well, Take care and please give my best to your family!!! Take care, Bill
@ That sounds great. I’ll be by the phone at 4pm. 👍👍👍
Squirrel cage fan was music to my ears. Exactly the right thing to use. This looks super, maybe some LED lighting inside??
Thanks 2KNS!!! I have 2 fans to hopefully get enough airflow to capture most of the overspray. I mocked-up the fan enclosure last night and will try to get that working today!!! Take Care, Bill
That is slicker than STP oil treatment!! Awesome paint booth, Bill.
Thanks Scott!!! I got the fans mocked-up last night for their little enclosure. This is a build day so I think it should be moving air by this afternoon!!! Take Care Sir!!! Bill
you finished it! 🎉🎉
Thanks Mello Me!!! I am so thrilled to get it built, and now it's just the fans and electrical which I can do this week! I've been wanting to do this for quite some time and I can't wait to get it on the bench!!! Take Care, Bill
Very nice, Bill. I'm sure it will work great. Have a great week and take care!!
Thanks Link!!! I had a great time building it, now I can't wait to get it on the bench to do some painting to see how well it works!!! I hope you are well, Take care, Bill
This going to be the best looking spray booth in the western hemisphere 👍😊
Thanks John!!! I really like the size, I just hope it works!!! I have 2 fans for the exhaust and I hope that will be enoug to create a fair amount of pull to keep fumes out of the shop. I will still need to punch through the wall to get the exhale]=ust to vent properly, that should be this week I expect. I hope you are well, Take care, Bill
Agreed that is it self a work of art 😮❤
That’s a lot of work. Looks like whiskey and cigars when it’s finished. 👍👍😊
Thanks John!!! Almost finished, I'll get some pictures and video of it posted today!!! Take Care, Bill
Sapele for a spray booth, really. Gold fittings I hope:)
Hi 2 Kids No Sleep!!! It's funny as I started using Sapele as a cheap substitute for Mahogany when it was 3-4 dollars per ft. That was 25 years ago and now it's 7-8(++)dollars per ft and a great choice for fine furniture.... It's coming along and I should get the fans and electronics in it this week. I hope you are well, Take Care, Bill
Man ! I leave you alone for five minutes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi John!!! I hope you are well, I took vacation last week and built my spray booth!!! It's not 100% finished, I need to get the electronics in it, but I am pretty happy with it!!! I hope you are well, Take care, Bill
Bill, you are going to have the nicest looking spray booth in the known universe, can't wait to see it finished 😁
Thanks Pablogogo!!! I got the structure done last night, and now it's fitting in the 2 fans I have for it. I hope you are well and have a wonderful week!!! Take Care, Bill
Awesome, will follow for sure! Used some Knotty Alder to make an over sink light box for our ski place that the cabinet guys left out. It is a lovely wood to work with
Hi 2kidsnosleep!!! It's nice to hear from you!!! I love the look of it against the dark wood, it's such a nice contrast. I hope you have a great weekend!!! Take care, Bill
Good evening! I’m poor again, but everything is done. No shopping. 🎉🎉 hope you’re having a great day.
Hi Angela!!! Yup, we didn't do any shopping for the holidays this year on Black Friday, all the prices are the same as regular, but they inflate them prior to Black Friday just to show a discount....Not falling for it. I hope you are well!!! Take Care, Bill
Outstanding Bill. Great to hear.
Thanks Scott, I hope you have a great weekend!!! Take care, Bill
Good luck, and happy thanksgiving! Im very grateful for all the effort you put into making great content for us!
Happy Thanksgiving Joyce!!! I hope you have a wonderful day, Take care, Bill
Man, that is going to be big! An absolute head turner, for sure Bill. Here's hoping you and your family have a very Happy Thanksgiving, Bill. Later.
Happy Thanksgiving Scott!!! Take care, Bill
Fantastic, definitely eager to find out more and very probably steal lots of ideas 😁
Thanks Awesome!!! Please steal anything you like, I started out 6 years ago after watching Andy's Hobby Headquarters, and it's been the funnest thing I think I've made in years!!! Dioramas are so fun because I can just keep adding details and fun little things that make it seem real, or at least interesting. I sure hope you enjoy it, I am here if you should have any questions, I love talking about Dioramas!!! Take Care, Bill
Kudos to your efforts, Bill. It's going to be awesome.
Thanks Stew!!! I got the panels glued up last night and will be sizing and shaping them today. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!!! Take Care, Bill
Outstanding Bill. That's going to look so good, I'd hate to use it. Later.
Thanks Scott!!! I think it's going to be huge!!! I put the frames together last night and it's going to dominate the desk, so I might have to do some work to that too. I hope you are well sir!!! Take care, Bill
@ScaleModelCraft Doing good Bill. I'd like to wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving.
I bet it would be cool watching you work in the shop. Would be an awesome learning experience.
Thanks Metal Slug!!! I'm filming as I build so I should have something to show when it's done. I hope you are well, Take care, Bill
Should be very nice!!
Thanks Link!!! I hope you are well Sir!!! Take care Bill
I enjoy woodworking and scale modeling as well. Nice jointer, btw. I've got an old Powermatic "Gumby" band saw... 1971 model. I had the motor refurbished about six years ago and it runs like a champ.
Thats great!!! Thanks, that jointer was something I dreamed about for years!!! I faked it with my craftsman 3 hp table saw for years, then came the planer, and finally the jointer, I just love how I can make a flat cabinet door now... If you have woodworking tips please send them this way, I'm self taught and I love hearing how other people have solved a problem in the shop!!! Take care, Bill
I'm sure that's going to be the finest model spray booth I've ever seen. Mine is totally lacking.
Thanks Scott!!! Take Care, Bill
Your ideas are so great. Can't wait to see the paint booth.
Thanks Scott!!! It's got me building t things in my head!!! Take care, Bill
Hello!
Hello!!! Great to meet you!!! I hope you have a great day!!! Take Care, Bill
Initially, I thought it was a mockup to get dimensions down for a model of Da Vinci's tank.
I totally see the shape now, thats a great idea!!!! Take Care, Bill
Google says the modern leaf spring was invented around 1804 in France. Early iterations go back as far as the Bronze age.
Thanks Frank!!! I think I saw that also, it was in the AI assisted section at the top. I think my biggest issue was the leaf springs on the model kit. I can't say for 100% but I didn't think the ones back then would look like the ones in the kit. Then when I found the other museum examples online, I just thought I could build that from scratch way better. I don't know if you have seen that video but I'm sure glad I did it, I really like it better than the one in the kit now, I did use the wheels from the kit because I don't think I could have built them better. Thanks again for commenting!!! Take Care, Bill
plot twist lmao 🤣
Полная мусорная корзина показывает сколько много трудится автор 👍
I don't envy your challenge, there Bill. I was doing just that, in my garage, when my back decided to take a hike. Lol. Be careful and watch your back.
Thanks Scott!!! I know what you mean, I am taking it slow, and even then if I don't stop and take breaks, it will sneak up on me the next morning. I hope your back gets better!!! Take Care Sir!!! Bill
@ScaleModelCraft It's hanging in there. When it wants too. Lol Later.
Looks amazing! How did you make the wattle trench wall towards the top? I cannot find you doing it in any of your videos and it looks gorgeous.
Thanks Lloyd!!! I used long Tamarack Pine tree needles from my friends house. I then took a board and drilled some holes 1/2inch apart for toothpicks, then weaved the needles through them. The needles were all stiff, so I let them soak in hot water for 10 minutes beforehand so they were flexible enough to bend without breaking. after they dried, I coated the entire waddle panel with matte Mod Podge, and they were ready to be installed. I'm still editing the videos from this build, and just finished the light fixtures I built for it, so the vertical shaft, and surface are the next video where I will show the entire process. Thanks very much for commenting Lloyd!!! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!! Take Care, Bill
That turned out amazing. Great job!
Thanks Metal Slug!!! Scratch building, especially with wood is so incredibly fun!!! I hope you are well and have a great weekend!!!
Enjoy the well-deserved breather, meditative woodworking, and personal time. We appreciate and enjoy you Bill!
Thank You Philip!!! I appreciate that very much!!! I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!!! Take Care, Bill

The wagon looks fenominal Bill. Later.

Thanks Mello Me!!! I have a bunch of painting but think it will look cool!!! Take care, Bill
I think the same way, I love shadows they give things so much depth and information for your eyes
100% its so important and I want to make sure I have enough!!! Take care. Bill
I don’t play dnd but I love a good diorama! This is so cool! I absolutely love how detailed and creative dnd players are. 🥳
Thanks Jack!!! I have a bunch of fun ideas for the display stand which I hope to get some work on next week!!! Take Care, Bill

Cobwebs over some of the lights maybe?
I like the suggestion!!! I don't know if it will make it into this one, but I do want to do them in the future. Take Care, Bill
