Nice bike!
We from Lyndhurst to we are MTB
@@InsarAskaruly have you ridden these spots?
I can not wrap my mind around how riding over rocks and tree roots is fun...I like a smooth surface where I can fly, but I guess whatever revs your engine or in this case, whatever gets your gears going...
@@petelato I guess most would say it’s the challenge - it takes coordination/balance strength/endurance etc. Going fast is also fun but where I live most all parks are very rocky.
That's an tough climb for sure c👍🙌
You still have to get around to doing this - the part in video isn't physically hard but you certainly need some balancing skills and feet eye coordination which is not as easy as it used to be for me. The sections before and after this is where the physical climbing come in and will wear many down 🙂
Nah... not as good as prior pov 👍
Oh boy, I would have guess you of all people would like the view from the chin guard of my helmet since it showed more of the front wheel.
Yeah, but not enough close to the body view. 😂 It’s a tight Window of compromise. @@OffRoadCycling
No mention of the trail name...🤔
The one you and I did but coming back we took the High-Road!
Oh ok
What app do you use to find trails?
@@abelap632 try Strava or ridewithgps
Oof, yeah that left uphill caught the front...
@@rider65 yeah the root on left stuck out far and stopped bike due to hitting it too slow and elbow landed on sharp rock.
How does your bike and back handle those bad Potholes ?
I stand on the pedals when I see rough terrain and hold on tight - I have a bad back but the bumps and all the shaking constantly stretches my back to help with the pain. Unless you have nerve pain in your lower back you will not understand how this helps.
neat trail! Do you have a gps file from this? I'm looking to try to ride up there sometime soon myself!
If you tell my you took 1st place in that Kings CX race video you recorded in 2023 I will get one for you 😑
@@OffRoadCycling hahaha "I took first place at Kings last year"😬🙃😉

@@OffRoadCycling great! Good to know the jumping off point to build from there. Seems like we might be entering the season of freeze thaw though so I might have to wait. Thank you!
Good place for the HT. Lots of obstacles, off-camber hills, etc.
Good ol BB... 👍 Cherry Blossom Capital
You can find some cool areas to ride especially around the edges of towns where they meet the country.
Thanks for sharing. this is my neighborhood, I'm somewhere in between Bloomfield and Franklin. I often ride from Nutley to the trails in Cedar Grove/Verona
Thank you for posting. Do you have a stava link?
I don't share that but I added the route in the description.
What brand of glove are you wearing? Are those your favorites for winter? Also, nice ride! So many great places to ride in Morris and Hunterdon counties.
@@johnhollister3 gloves are for cool weather and nothing special - found on Amazon somewhere.
If you have suggestions for a place to do 3 hours near the Chester & Mendham area that is not going to be too mucky if there is rain/snow in the forecast is greatly appreciated by a NC person currently displaced from Asheville is greatly appreciated. Cheers.
If you are talking about trail riding the full route I did today was 24 miles and 1000 ft of elevation and will take 2:45 to 3 hours at a 9 to 10 mph moderate pace. It's an out and back route - this video just shows half of my return trip, I will be posting the other half tomorrow morning. Here is the route, you can start in Morristown where it starts or where it turns around and heads back the same way in Mendham: ridewithgps.com/routes/48463690
It's another drought. Worth it?
Yes good time to ride there and should be dry.
You passed by where I live. I appreciate you sharing your route. I am not sure if you use TrailForks or Strava, but uploading a link of your ride would be great!
Color is tops, pov is great 👌
5.50 in... omg. Flashbacks of when I worked there 😅 1990-1996
Ugh... man that's steep in some parts
Hell yeah, thats one sweet ride. Cool channel, just subbed.
Is that a throttle bike or just pedal assist?
It’s a low powered pedal assist. - max power is 55nm.
Rode my Stumpy here last summer, but all the way from Manhattan. Was nearly exhausted when I got to the park lol I dropped in from Ruckman Rd and the beginning descent was so much fun! Rocky, a bit rooty and very fast. I then did a few laps around the campsite, not so much fun on the climbing and when you're not on an e-bike and exhausted. Also, what comes down must go up... I was completely exhausted on the way back and had to get uber😂
That's a great story and you are a smart man than I resorting to uber. Yes, Alpine has fun downhills but you have to pay the price getting back. Rockleiigh which is the connecting park is even worse with more extreme grades. I had been riding my regular bike here the prior 2 months and it's always a challenge.
winter gloves? those are great trails.. too many leaves out west (alamunchy/stephans)!
The gloves are new and I got them for the knuckle protection, no insulation - today was 45 degrees and that's about all they can handle.
Great title bud!
Happy Birthday, Rob! (you caught up to me...🙂)
Always glad to hear about others not letting age get in the way of what makes them happy!
Happy Birthday!!!
@rider65 - Just for you George!
Happy birthday… what gloves are you wearing?
Thank you! Gloves were on sale for $15 so took a chance on a light color called Stone and love them. Almost sold out - they fit true to size just tight putting on - have a woman's version too: Men: www.specialized.com/us/en/mens-trail-d3o-gloves/p/199012?color=348718-199012 Women: www.specialized.com/us/en/womens-trail-d3o-gloves/p/199017?color=348641-199017
I added links to the gloves but seems TH-cam does not allow them and took down. These are from the Specialized bike company - Mens Trail D30 Gloves in the Stone color, they also have a version for women. They fit to size but are snug getting on - I really like the color.
Ugh... all gender 🙄🤷♂️
You know just my opinion but I really don't want to hear about politics on an MTB video. MTB is an escape for me when I don't need to think or hear about anything else in the world.
Well, I respect your opinion to complain as you should respect the OP's opinion to express his thoughts & feelings on any subject. I mean that's how a true Democratic & Free society operates or should operate. Free Speech requires the utmost tolerance, especially when one disagrees with another's opinion. And especially when some others are offended. And finally, YT is a platform, like any other social media. I think & believe we have a birth right to say and do anything we choose to. That includes accepting any & all consequences that are associated with our choices- both positive & negative.
For me, listening to news about our country while riding my bike adds to the enjoyment. It also allows me to learn about what's going on around here - I've been clueless my entire life so it's all quite interesting.

Yeah, when you load the front it's more stable. Shifting weight rearward will unload the front & create instability. It's in the corners where this will be most critical. I try to lead with head and hinge the hips back. I sometimes forget this body position.
Ok, sitting up 👍 You get horizon and bars and tire. Perfect.
@rider65 - if I took my garmin GPS off my stem you would see all of the front tire and probably even some with seat all the way down.
Hello please share where is the entrance for the southwest trail ? A nearby street or highway would be helpful
@@MegaSanban Mendham Rd right by Sunrise Lake.
@@OffRoadCyclingthanks and you followed the yellow trail ?
For this video yes, once I got on the yellow trail I took every right turn staying on the yellow until where the video ends. I will have another video shortly starting where this one ended. If you can follow a route on a gps device I will send you a route?
Yes, I noticed a change in the trails this year. More erosion, exposing roots & rocks. Trails becoming more technical. Funny though...the less rain, the less erosion. But you'll NEVER hear that from the global warming radical zealots! 😂🙄🤦♂️
7:42 wall ride!
These types of rides are way better than trails imo... Right in my wheelhouse 👍
Yes, the curb! 😂
You Got to tour me around these places bud
Better angle here than Tackamac. #fronttire 👍
Love seeing the front tire in the vid 👍. Color is good too.
I have camera mounted at very top of chest almost hitting my chin which will show the front tire when seat is up all the way. Most others mount cameras middle of chest never showing front wheel unless they were very tall. If I were to mount on the chin section of a full face helmet you would see even more front tire like some do mount theirs. My fatbike video you just saw has me sitting with seat all the way up entire ride - did not use dropper on that ride - so you saw more front tire due to that. When I watch a video I am looking more ahead and not at front tire which is why I have camera mounted to show that as priority, you know this already but I try to comprise with your and maybe some others who have the same preference 😐
love the vid, very calm, and i love the commentry
Also, for me, this why all my bikes have a very similar setup. Cockpit, suppleness, rigidity etc. Even my road bike has similar reach & stack to my mtb's. Developing 'Feel' is not something natural, it is learned and not so easy. A skill that requires constant attention 👍 We both enjoy the technical aspect of setup & modifications. 🙂
Yeah, familiarity and adaptability are KEY in riding consistently. Moto Academy teaches this and it's one of things I work on. We ride differently but in the same vein- I.E. streets, trails, paths, etc. I think that's important to adaptability imo. I enjoy the 'trials' 'obstacles ' sreet type of riding al9ng with rail trails and tech trails. 👍 I bounce between the two bikes, but you have many more to sort out, another challenge indeed.
DJI OA5 UltraWide is horizontal larger but vertical smaller against Insta 360 AP2 ActionView but still both larger than GP superview and hyperview 😊
Actually GoPro has the larger 8:7 lens, both DJI and Insta have a 4:3 so provides a higher vertical view than all cameras - I used their Hero 10 then 12 each for 1 year before switching this month. Then if you use their Max Lens 2.0 like I did it gets crazy wide and high which I loved and only thing I miss about that camera.
what type of gloves are those.. i really need something that works
@@MattCoffy I believe I left you a good pair to buy when you asked on one of my Stephens videos.
