Muse - "Explorers" mixed with Rachmaninoff "Piano Concerto no.2 op.18"
มุมมอง 1.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
The words dont quite match up perfectly with the music, but it gives the idea of how Matt Bellamy took from this composition by Rachmaninoff to write his song "Explorers" This composition was also used by Eric Carmen to write a song called "All by Myself" although in my opinion that was more of a rip off than used as inspiration. I also have a video demonstrating this by mixing them together li...
Eric Carmen "All By Myself" ripped off Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto no.2 op.18
มุมมอง 59K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Joined Eric Carmen's vocals with Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto no.2 op.18 to show how heavily he "borrowed" from him to make his song All By Myself. For the impatient, you can skip to min 1:40

"If I Needed Someone" | "Bells of Rhymney" -Joined- Were the Beatles influenced by the Byrds?
มุมมอง 9234 ปีที่แล้ว
George Harrison confessed the Byrds that he got his inspiration to write "If I Needed Someone" from their song "Bells of Rhymney". "In late 1965, Harrison acknowledged the Byrds' influence on "If I Needed Someone" when he sent a copy of the Beatles' new album, Rubber Soul, along with a message for McGuinn and Crosby, to Derek Taylor, the Byrds' publicist. In his note, Harrison said that the riff...

Suspicious Creep- Elvis vs Radiohead Mashup (by Wankel Audio)
I was watching Young musician of the year and commented that I wanted to start singing all by myself when both pianists performed Rachmaninoff. You can't help but notice it!
rip to all thieves
Absolute rip off! Did he pay Rachmaninoff family and foundation MILLIONS of dollars since benefiting from this theft? I don't think so. Did he ask for permission to use this piece of music? I don't think so. Absolute talantless thief! That is how he'll be remembered forever
Not only that...there's George Costanza on the cello.
Carmen has always maintained that Rachmaninov was his favorite composer and a couple of his songs were influenced by him. To say ripped off is false.
It’s a theme based on.
Eric Carmen was responsible for me discovering Rachmaninoff. I’d never heard of that many of the great composers and he absolutely spoke about his love of classical music.
I'm happy if some songs make us interested in classic music❤
Life on Mars?
liam sounds hungover
I too became interested in Rachmaninoff because of Eric Carmen whose family also were Russian.
Honest mistake. Paid the estate royalties.
Clearly the original poster confuses "inspired" with "ripped off" and is ignorant how classical music has inspired others and their music. I believe the term for his ilk is " no talent turd."
How ignorant can you be from your arm chair. You know nothing about the fine line of being inspired vs ripping off. Be quiet
@@majortom4543 Bite me.
@@garydunn3868 classic childish response. Goodbye kid.
@@majortom4543 kma doork.
Rach got co writing credit and his family received the profits. An agreement was reached in which the estate would receive 12 percent of the royalties from "All by Myself" as well as from "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again", which was based on the third movement from Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2.[
That flautist looks like an older version of that goofy southerner from 30 rock
To be fair did he ever claim to have written the music? "Rip off" suggests dishonesty
He did not give credit until after the lawsuit
So well mixed. Amazing.
And today Eric Carmen probably is playing close to Mr Rachmaninov!😮😊👍🏼
❤❤R.I.P Eric Rachmaninoff 🙏⚘️🙏⚘️Brilliant human being
ripped off??? 🤣🤨
Carmen was a classically trained pianist he ripped nothing off, he used it as a base to tell a story. He had more creative power than most of the so-called pop idles of today. RIP. Eric Carmen. Thank you for bringing classic music to the masses!
Agreed! Pop poseur is probably a more accurate description. Today’s pop is anemic tripe. Eric was a fantastic pianist. I saw The Raspberry’s on their final tour and he actually played a baby grand on stage.
Eric said Rachmaninoff got this melody from a friend and another of his hits from an organ grinder.
Но песня все равно прекрасна!
ironic lady diana loved this the rachmaninoff version wonder if she knew eric got it from him
Tanti artisti si sono ispirati al genio di Rachmaninoff! Non infieriamo su Eric Carmen!!
The lyrics made it relatable to the audience thus made it sellable. I wonder how many millions Celine Dion made?
he said in an interview that Rach Symphony #2 was his favorite piece of music and he put it in the "All By Myself." Good for him, for using it in a pop song.
He didn't "rip him off" -- it was obvious to everyone that he used part of Rach's melody. Carmen credited it from the very beginning.
R. I. P. Eric Carmen.
Eric had a beautiful voice 😍
RIP ERIC CARMEN
Why call it a ripoff? The tune is borrowed from and I would say pays tribute to the beautiful Rachmaninoff concerto, which I have played. The Rach II along with maybe the Tchaikovsky No. 1 and the Beethoven Emperor Concerto (No. 5) are the world’s most beloved piano concertos.
Give Carmen his due credit he came up with the chorus. That’s the song’s big hook.
je ne savais pas ...
The guys dead and ripping off happens all the time in music. So close thy mouth
RIP Mr. Carmen. You’re a bunch of losers. We all knew this 45 years ago!
Liam in numetal instrumentals dosnt sound bad lol😂
Lucy Thomas has a version that takes it to another level, even beyond Celine’s. th-cam.com/video/4Y1ThLEezys/w-d-xo.html
How many kids were born because of/after this song …
Рахманинов велик и прекрасен! И это будет всегда! Эрик Кармен, спасибо за любовь и талант!
Brilliant
Rachmaninoff would undoubtedly have liked Erik Carmen's version, as it complements his work. And it is not a 'ripped off', but a masterpiece of musical editing and the great talent of Erik Carmen ✅
Made the baby boomers like me pay attention to his music. Thanks Eric.
Rachmaninov is up in heaven smiling and is NOT ALL BY HIMSELF. BRAVO!
And now Eric Carmen is too unfortunately
Carmen never denied it (Barry Manilow's "Could It Be Magic" was inspired by a piece by Chopin; and, the Beatles "Yesterday" inspired by Nat King Cole's "Answer Me, My Love", etc.)!
You are flying in rice crispies. He couldn't deny it, he was sued for it.
"No other Love" by Jo Stafford was also "ripped off" from another classical concerto.
I accidentally heard piano concerto no 2 and instantly asked myself am i hallucinating
I was about to comment: "Yes, maybe it's one of this song inspirations" Then the violins came and... Holy shit!
I was the same!!!
Lol even if he did rip it off it’s not a big deal. How are we supposed create new music if we can’t use the great music that came before us?
Rip-off? Hard to be sure. Sometimes I feel so insecure.
Ha, ha, ha.
It amazes me how so many songs sound alike considering all the musical notes there are...oh wait.
