Cycling Scotland's North Coast 500 | Part 3

The final phase of our route around the Scottish Highlands. What a stunning route it's been! Flatter terrain now on this final section, which could mean stronger and more consistent headwinds..!

The rain and wind continued, making it tricky to find usable hours in which to cover the miles. The luxury of our motorhome, however, made the trip warm, comfortable, and a lot of fun!

What time of the year was this (month)?
Are you going to climb K2 & Logan?
Good day to you! This is a senior rider on Honda from Japan. Enjoying camping and video uploading. Your tour video is so great !! Awesome! Full supported ! Have a nice day my friend !!
The real summit is behind you! Point Lenana is just a high altitud trekking 570 meters below the real summit called Batian.
Yeah, I don't sleep well at these altitude levels... It's a stunning experience but nights are dreadful..
I live right here in Nanyuki. The cold can keep you awake the whole night, can't imagine how much worse it was for you guys!
17:04 is the real peak behind you? I can see a peak behind you which is way higher than where you are.
They went as far as lenana peak. Which is still a great fete. Most people don't go beyond Lenana. The 2nd highest is Nelion and the highest Batian. Those two are a technical climb though. I wish more people went to Batian. The videos of the climb would be extra awesome.

Wow
Ethiopia is like a time Machine .
Woow I Like it before
Well done guys. Could you please share the per head cost in USD for the total trek? It would be so helpful. Thanks.
Now do it without the "Porters."
I climbed it in Roblox since I don’t have the money
It's pity we can't see dislikes any more.
Greetings from Bangladesh travel writers Association. Can you pls suggest how many days is needed to travel to Fiji by bicycle and what will be average per day cost
Archipelago
Thanks for your honest opinion and insights. I have repeatedly read and heard about this antisocial behavior and the attitude of being owed everything, that is pervasive in Ethiopia.
IN tanzania you cant have 2 nationalities even for a native if you gain another countries citizenship then they delete your tanzania citizenship basically you cant have 2 citizenships there and thats the problem.
Tourist revenue, demands the place should have ever-hot-beverages☕ and all other necessary comfort and heating equipment.
Authorities should consider permanent equipped camps or hotels
Awesome stuff, Mate!😍
Yeah, that 26 iinch original surlyl LHT can handle basically anything as long as you have decent wheels. Off road no problem, on road it still quite good. As the frame is so stiff I found might makes faster progress then some of my other bikes. I tried loading up an aluminium specialized rockhopper once, it had so much flex I couldn't ride it across a carpark. I'm surprised the AWOL flexed through 🧐.
These videos should have way more views.
what month did you do this?
Beautiful video. Really insighful and you really captured beautiful views. Thank you.
I'm Kenyan but I have never seen the mountain. Thank you.
nono it was hilarious when he said 'natakka kojoa" eyyyy it was so funny with his accent
Hio ilinimaliza pia haha. leta number tupande mlima pamoja
Awesome vlog and experience. Very informative too
Beautiful! Thank you.
Can mount kenya be climbed without a guide and in November?
It's too technical to go without a guide, but you can go in group of experienced friends/ team by yourselves.
@@martino6205 I did it with a guide in the end. Totally worth the money. Not because it is technical because in my opinion it isn't but because of high altitude sickness
Amazing. You made it look simple
Is the cut creating any problem at all? Like damaging the clothes or being uncomfortable? I had the standard version for years and now want to change to this, it is too stiff for my weight.
@Bebo I'm not fat and i still bounce, i like it. The pains of the cut are getting lower and lower with time
Wow. This looks so amazing .. Tam coc is indeed a well know secret destination of northern Vietnam.. That caves look so awesome and . Those unfinised hits were a surprise as it looks quite a great spot for tourism but not utilized.. The view from the top looks so nice
What kind of Handlebar bag did Dan have? Thanks for the great video guys. Super helpful!
Looks great! I am planning on cycling in Namibia later this year. I am however worried about the lack of places to find water. How many litres of water did you guys carry at a time?
vloggers and cyclists are showing the real Africa to the rest of the world
Which month did you hike
It's pole pole which means slowly slowly . Actually I am watching this video to get knowledge as I am a student in kenya
Mount KIBO is a volcano?
Definitely NOT worth it on a cost basis. I spent around £700 for a Son 28 hub, wheel build, charge plug and Edelux 2 light and rear. And you have to be riding quite fast to get a reasonable amount of charge from them to power anything. RAV or Anker power banks are a much better alternative. Two 26k mH Rav power banks can give me enough power for 7 days easily, charging my phone, Garmin Edge 1000, Fenix 5 watch, Go Pro batteries. Also get their 18/21W solar panels as they are pretty good and only cost £50-60. A hub dynamo such as a Son or SP is great if you want to have the convenience and reassurance of having lights on the whole time as you ride. But then again modern LED lights have minimal power consumption. My Exposure Max D will last 3 hours on full power and 8 on low. Get Exposure's piggy back battery and you get 8 hours on full power (Very bright) and 16 hours on low power (still bright). A cheap Shimano dynamo hub is perhaps the way to go if you want to power lights. Forget powering anything else as the charge can just be too low or erratic. You aren't going to charge anything creeping up a 15% slope on a loaded touring bike.
Yebbut it is also the steps between gears that is important. You don't want massive jumps or drops to the next gear as on a loaded touring bike it will be a miserable experience. The bike will most certainly be dictating how your ride. BikeCalc doesn't cater for internal hub gears.
Surly have discontinued this LHT but the Disc Trucker still continues which is basically the same bike but with better more practical disc brakes. No more worn out wheel rims. Even better is to ride a Surly Troll (also discontinued) or an ECR with Rohloff hub for ultimate reliability and very low maintenance.
Awesome video. Which tour company did you use for this trip? Planning to do the hike in February. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks😀
If you haven't climbed the mountain yet, bonfire adventures is the real deal
Where are you...
Great info. Thank you for both of your time and interest in sharing. My feeling is that they probably make the bike more of a target to theifs, especially in Europe's cities.
Nice video, good conditions! I actually recut my Pt. Lenana climb new today: th-cam.com/video/MyAq509Nb-M/w-d-xo.html we hat rainy weather, a bit different to yours. If you like, on my channel are also videos from Africas highest anf third highest peaks. Thanks a lot for chairing your video!
Sadly, Specialized has discontinued the AWOL.
