1999-2006 Chevy and GMC Suburban/Tahoe/Silverado LED headlight install.
What's actually wrong with the quad?
I jjust installed the same exact step on my new 2024 Limited (same color, too) and my step does not touch the bumper when closed. Thanks for the video!
Got mine and used your video as a reference for my install. Came out great, Thank you
Where can i get my headlight adjusted
🦾😇
Thanks 🫡
Awesome Lance! Nothing beats a Honda! Highest quality, most reliable ever! Congratulations on the new toy.
Thanks Todd. I can't wait to get out on it.
That’s for the video I will be installing this on my 22 tundra platty
No problem!
Nice burb man looks secret serviced out
Thanks for the video!
You bet!
Thanks Helped a lot, mine on the way :)
Glad it helped
Looks great… does it have the AVS suspension?
Thank you. No it doesn't.
You need a dish on those wheels bro. The wheels don't look much better than the stock ones.
I think they do. I was actually looking for something with minimal dish but wider. They look good to me.
Not trying to be negative but I personally do not like that divider as it can not be lowered or flipped down to haul long lumber or other long materials. You will have to remove it to do so. JS
No worries. Yeah I agree. I rarely haul long items. Maybe my ATV from time to time. Then I would need to remove it as well.
I would have put the sliding brackets on the opposite side so the sliding knob would be toward the rear of the bed. JS
Thanks. I actually did end up doing that.
Thanks for the video. It definitely helped me put on this tailgate step. Only thing that I did different. Was loosen the rear bumper trim that was secured with retainer clips. so that I could reach the third bolt. That helped me a lot But anyway, good job on the video and thanks for posting
Glad it helped
This video right here is the reason I fell in love with the gmt800. Got myself a 2002 gmc Yukon red color. Looking to do the same tire and wheel setup and some upgrades. Please keep posting some more of this suv. Great video
Will do!
I am just now doing a headlight mod like this on my 04 Yukon. So can you confirm that the blue wire to daytime lights was the hot wire?
That truck looks awesome!!! I like that way better than one that is lifted. I hope Toyota takes good care of us on the upcoming recall for the engine.
Thank you🙏🏽 and I'm sure Toyota will look out for us. Unfortunately this is a big deal but thing happen. I will deal with it if my time comes. I love my Tundra so if I need to get a new engine so be it. I'll get it then keep chucking
@@CrucialGarage - Yes sir!!!!! Great attitude. I agree, everything will work out and we will keep moving on down the road.
Yeah this is a nice mod to get this to work with the '22+ Tundras. I have no idea why they don't offer an equivalent, it's definitely something that people will use. Thanks man! EDIT: Now you got me wondering about whether I should get the bakflip revolve instead of the OEM tri-fold....lol.
Thanks. If you are using the bed tie down rails in the stock locations there shoulshouldnt be a reason to cut the divider.
@@CrucialGarage Nah, they'll be relocated down a bit b/c I'm going to get a cover. Just trying to decide between the OEM tri-fold and the BAK revolve X4s like it looks like you have. Both have pros and cons. Why did you choose that one over the OEM one, if you don't mind me asking?
Sorry, I'm just seeing this. I like the a having the ability to roll it all the way up and have 99% access to the bed. I can put my ATV in the back without having to remove it. Also another plus is there are no seams.
@@CrucialGarage The OEM one folds over itself 3x up against the back window, and it doesn't obstruct the view b/c the rear mirror is a camera. It takes about the same amount of space as the roll when all folded up. Trade-off seems to be you have more granularity if you only do it partial way with the roll-up, where-as the fold you can just flip up the end one and leave it. But yeah, it has seems vs the roll-up one.
Looks interesting, but you would need to lift the tailgate about half way to remove it not from the fully open position. My 2015 Tacoma tailgate was stolen last month. Definitely will be securing the next. Had no idea this was a problem until now. It’s huge apparently.
Yeah I never knew either. Better safe then sorry.
whats sur[risomg to me, is NO ONE makes bigbore kits for these, like 110cc Bigbore kits, NO ONE, this pw80 was so overlooked. i love them
Yeah that would be cool
The wrap looks good. I see you putting in that work. Definitely have to stop by and see it. It does look good.
Yessir! 👍🏽👍🏽
It's called a pick up not a truck
And there's always one. Thanks for watching anyway
Have you tried to remove the tailgate before adding the lock? It’s not easy! I think for new trucks you don’t need this as the tailgate is locked, unless you like to leave your truck unlocked.
I'm only going off what others have said about it coming undone on its own on FB. I'd rather air on the side of caution than be upset that I read about it and it happened to me because I did nothing. Ez just in case fix 🤷🏾♂️
I did this on my truck many years ago with a $3 stainless steel hose clamp.
Yup I'm sure that will work also.
Simplicity is key!
Facts 💯
Total newbie here: do you buy separate led bulbs for the daytime running and high beams? If so - should I be looking for ‘dual’ bulbs or 2 separate bulbs? 2004 Suburban 1500 here - just getting started on mods! Also our dash lights are out too!
Some headlights come with LED boards in them and you just plug into your harness but mine didn't. I just ordered hi and low beam led lamps that install like regular lamps. Check for a blown fuse or possibly have to get lamps for the dash lights. Good luck! 👍🏽
Love them or hate them…GM had the market on tailgates with the Multipro. I never thought much about it until I got one.
Agreed
Looks cool 👍
Thanks 👍
Perfect look man! Good taste. Good job.
Appreciate it Todd!
Does having the step there impact how the sensor works? Do you have to make adjustments?
No affect to the sensors while driving.
What’s ur suspension and wheel set up ?
Front 2" level keys, Hummer rear springs, and that video the truck had 18" wheels with 285/65/18
Thanks for the video. Been wanting to find one that fits. I have same truck as you ,same color also.
No problem 👍 Without the tanneau cover it should fit with less modifications. The cover relocates the side bed rails in just enough to have to cut the sides of the divider. The only thing you should have to do is cut the adjustment knob. 👍🏽
What type and size spacers did use? Got same aftermarket bed step and plan to install this week
Sorry I missed this bro. I used 2 washers per bolt for now. I need to get a piece of aluminum cut to size. I would say 1/4" would work. Yours may not need it tho. I read it's hot or miss
Where can I get those tail lights?
Ebay
Great job on the videos, Crucial Garage! They get down to it, covers everything you need to know. I'm looking at getting a new Tundra these videos have been super helpful for me for deciding what accessories to add.
Glad to help and thanks for watching 👍🏽👍🏽
Is there enough clearance to slide it back and forth easily so it doesn’t get caught on the bed itself? I have a spray in liner and the bakflip mx4 so my rails are lower. Just didn’t want it rubbing when sliding. I was thinking of trying the Tacoma one but wonder if it’s not wide enough. Thanks for doing this video.
Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes mine moves with ease.
Been saying this from day one when I saw the new Tundra. The engineers messed up in so many ways. This is a truck and there is no steps to get in the truck with tailgate down. There is nowhere to the sides of the bumper to put your foot. This is insane. Owned a previous Tundra and I don't think a step should be an option. It is those stupid things that makes me decide that I would never buy this Tundra. There are too many design flaws that are retrograde. I have no idea what's happening with these engineers at Toyota lately.
Yeah they def dropped the ball with this. I honestly love the truck tho. There are only a few negatives I can point out so far with about 1500 of my miles on the truck. But I am going from a 2003 gmc sierra to this. Haha. Thanks for commenting.
GMC owns so many patents for steps. Ford has some too. So it makes it a bit challenging. GMC has the best tailgate, rest of the truck is shit. Hence why Ram had a barn door and Ford has a mini door.
agreed
Nice install. Which running boards do you have? They look like one of the Go Rhino models. Could you give the model number and possibly pics/video of the running boards? Thanks!
Thanks. Yes they are the go rhino RB20 Slim running boards.
Is your suspension heavy duty? Ex: tie rods, control arms etc?
No they are not. I only have heavy duty hummer rear springs. Level keys in the front
I think you would be better off making a full spacer plate instead of using washers. Be alot stronger and less stress on the bolts with the whole thing sitting flush. Just an idea. I got a feeling it may have a little more play and eventually work the bolts loose or waller it out without the whole thing sitting nice and flush. Nice step though, and nice video. I wonder if I can make that work, or something like it work, on an 04 Tacoma.
Yup a full spacer will be made.
great video! need more of those! if can, can you get them unloading the car's. and setting up.
Yes I can
You should remove that bracket holding the bumper before installing the step bracket. It makes for an easy installation without having to modify the bolt and nut.
True
Bro what’s the brand of the cover
Check the title.
Sweet, thanks for the video. Just got a Tundra and need to install this. Good to see a fellow Marylander making Tundra videos. Thank you for the useful good content.
Thank you for watching and commenting. I absolutely love my tundra. What part of MD are you from?
I’m from Gaithersburg, how about you?
Bowie
If you switch to the 22's, post a video. I have a 2001 Yukon XL with 285/45/22's. I want to increase the sidewall to the next size to 295/45/22 of which won't work unless I install at least a leveling kit. I don't want a lift because I still want to be able to fit in garages and don't want to affect the ride characteristics. With the leveling kit you installed does your Suburban sit level? Is the front end or rear end sitting slightly higher than the other end? And also is your kit just keys or spacers or does it include hardware also for your suspension to compensate to prevent premature wear?
I now have the 22s on and will post a video. My truck sits even with my level kit. It came with keys for the front and spacers for the rear(but I no longer use due to installing taller springs) I installed longer shocks.
@@CrucialGarage what size are your tires?
Sorry just seeing this. 33x12.5x22
Awesome find! I have been looking for a moveable divider to put on my 2024, with that same cover. I had only been able to find one out there but it was for a specific bed cover system and not for the factory Toyota rails. I am almost to the point of making my own but now this will save me a lot of time. Thanks!
No problem. Glad I could help👍🏽
Nice it looks good and very clean. Question is there a tool you don’t have? Lol
🤔 nope 😂😂
Do you have a lift?
Level kit
👍
💯💯
