I actually have both Japanese decks you mention. May I suggest you check out: miracle tarot reiko shimizu, love and mystery tarot ayumi kasai, and Derakkusu ban Hihou Tarot. All really great decks that I enjoy, and may interest you if you play on buying some new similar decks. Also thank you for taking the risk/being vulnerable and giving a political reading. I really appreciate your reflections and your thoughts. You always have a way of talking that is calming even during tumultuous times. And I really enjoy it.

Wonderful selections. I adore the decks I shouldn’t dig but do. I have a lot of overlapping tastes to you and some on your wishlist are also on mine! I have wanted the black lily pretty much since it came out, but now that vibe is totally where I’m at. I hope to get it. I just got the liberation tarot and it has blown my mind (esp my pull for today). I feel like you might dig it. It’s kind of an amalgamation of collage and these more “weird sketchy” styles. I’m feeling very apocalyptic rn and today my despair and sadness is pretty overwhelming. I was stoked to see your video and it was nice to go thru these with you. Your reading was absolutely beautiful and made me feel a little seen and authentically “hang in there”. I appreciate you and your videos so much, but especially today. Thanks for posting! ❤

Wow. Such a great reading and so true. Thank you for sharing the guidance and suggestions for this tumultuous time. I really appreciate your reflections. And this style is fun and I think also hard to articulate exactly the nuance of it. I have so many of these decks and love them for similar reasons. One that might fall into this elusive category is the Purple Diamond and I have that on my list to get this year. It has intrigued me, as many of these did for a while before I went for them since they are ones I am not always sure why I like them!

LOVE the Black Lilly! I pair her with these oracles: Mushroom, Begin, Divine Nature, Illuminated Earth and sometimes the Nameless One tarot, and The Tarot by Caitlin Mattison. Thanks for sharing the cards of Chaos, I had never seen that one before.

I had to put Alchemy of Thoth aside until I could forget whatever preconceived expectations I had of it. Looking at it in your video, I think I may be ready to try to appreciate it in person again! Carrot Tart Tarot looks really interesting -- apparently I ran across it in Etsy already because I've already favorited it even though I didn't have as good a look at it before as you've given in this video. I too have suddenly found that the beautiful and fascinating character of The Black Lily Tarot cannot be ignored! I've known about it for at least 5 years, but just last week I had to put it back on my list because it is so compelling! I will have to get it this year. Such an interesting video! I love the pouch you made for your Black Lilly. After i received the Black Lilly deck, I repeatedly dreamed about it for several weeks. That's never happened with any other tarot or oracle. The Carrot Tart's coloration makes the cards look like they're glowing, especially the pips. It is a very cool effect!

I love your picks. This was my fav of all the 'best / most used / stand out decks for 2024' videos. You made me want to purchase a few decks. I have the opposite problem to you regarding good oracles, I find so many I would like to purchase, I cant purchase all the one I like otherwise I would have no money left for other things. Do you know why Rosebae stopped selling the Sistine Tarot on MPC?

I love the mod you did with that Amy Farber oracle. I was so inspired to do a similar one, creating my own keywords, but I just have to find the right oracle. I hope you keep us informed of all the fun collage deck releases upcoming! I'm a bit out of the new release tarot world, but it sounds like an exciting time for collage artists and lovers.

Omg I can’t believe you did such an intense mod to creativity Oracle. It def needed it. I like that deck but the card stock and style is terrible imo. 🌟 problem is I’m just not an arts and crafts person so modifying it myself would not come out well 😅

You’re deck selection is always on point. You’ve turned me onto Carrot Tarts. Wow! I’m with you that it is hard to find the right fantasy decks and that one does something for me. Strangely the only fantasy deck that’s hit the mark for me is the Night Sun Tarot. I resisted it for years but it called this year with the doom and gloom. It’s helping me meet that gloom with more personal power.

The Piatnik is probably my favorite TdM deck as well. The Tarot de Paris has a similar messiness (but even more so), and some of the details in the majors are kind of funny.

😩 Ugh, wish they used the bust in Hierophant for the Emperor, instead. That’s Charlemagne. They used that bust as inspiration in the “Cosmic Tarot”, too. Fun deck, though! I really like the vibes. I also really like your edging on the sides!

I need to insist you give the Buffy deck another try I promise it's so good you will start to love the art style. It's my soul deck so I'm biased but I must insist. They fixed the book in the mega and the mini editions so they probably fixed it in the second printing of the original deck but I don't know that for sure.

The only thing about the little Zerner Farber deck is a couple of details have been cropped at the edges. It creates a more condensed look but things like stars etc may have had a specifically chosen number originally. I gave my copy away and went with the much larger 30th anniversary edition. I really like the guidebook for that one. I think your modded version is actually the ideal lol

about the fool card on el tarot... did you check that it is not at the very end of the deck? sometimes they put them there... or just contact seller and let them know about it, perhaps they can send you just the fool card.

MAN i wish you had timestamps/sections for the decks so you could see them in the timeline as you hover and also be able to jump around. this is an INCREDIBLE video and some amazing decks. (i don't know if you can do it after the fact or not. but i would even be worth posting a new vid with the update, and also get some more love for the hard work you put in.) i'm literally painstakingly noting all the times and putting them in a bookmark i have of this ved........... i'm trying to reference a bunch of decks and they make it so hard to just SEE IMAGES so you can evaluate what deck works for you. :/ so far i seem to really favor the facsimilies. right now leaning toward the tarot vieville.... the faces' rendering is important to me, as an artist, and i like the almost charcoal smudgey look. the colors get away from the red/yellow/blue which i find kind of grates on me and i like these ones where they tone it down. just not a fan of all the primary colors together. BUT, in my research, this deck is read a little different, as well as having the different Star, Moon, Sun... and the weird horses on the chariot with faces. but idk the pre-dating the marseilles is interesting to me as well. the deck that even got me interested in the marseilles system (i'm a RWS reader) is the very differently colored marseilles deck from vieux monde on amazon. it's like a deep gold, and a dark blue/ or teal sort of color. it's all muted and that plus the clean line images/symbols was really fascinating. but i wanted to educate myself first and see the diffs in decks.... and also see which ones have all the details needed for reading the pips. (in RWS decks it gets me so aggravated when you get artists reimagining the deck in their style *but they leave important things out* like you can't even recognize the card even if you are a seasoned reader. so i wanted to avoid that trap.) i wish seller sites or some info sites would just show the whole deck. for some of the pips i heard there could be positive and negative cards and some have embellishments that show that like flower in bloom vs a bud. the only reason i knew about that was a SINGLE channel going over "decks for beginners". 78 huertes might have been the name. but even with having all the right bits and bobs, you have to make sure the style feels right to you. uuuuuuuuughhhhhh i'm trying so hard here. even the decks he showed, i kind of liked the fournier but then it's not so available. did find it on amazon france but idk what shipping costs would be like. and i do agree piatnik looks pretty good... (but im also trying to find a deck that doesn't have circle b00bs. it just.... feels kind of annoying. again, anatomy, artist, blah. i do love the blue lobster tho.) so.... trying to find a deck that i can like MOST of. faces/expressions, color palate, how certain cards are rendered (the d3ath card is interesting on vieville. but on gassman, piatnik, rochias, burdell, those all seem based on the same one and i don't care for it.). anyway long msg. but basically your walkthrough of these decks is invaluable and i wish you had the timestamps to make it even MORE of a resource, and i believe it will help a lot of people if they can stumble across your vid. sometimes, in trying to save time, i will glance over a timeline to get an idea of the content of a vid (when im in research mode.) and try a section i'm most interested in to gauge the voice/presentation/info. i actually am never going to forget you talking about the blue lobster and the crosseyed guy. (the pope, was it?) or the face in the belly of the world. that is all the piatnik deck, i believe. but i instantly hear you talking about it when i see those cards. i think one of the MOST interesting cards in the gassman tarot deck is the hangedMan who is facing sideways. each deck has its quirks, just like with people. just gotta find the one who's most INTERSTING cards outwieigh the least interesting or the booboo faces or whatever else you aren't keen on.

6:36 UGH thank you. i'd seen the etteilla deck and it was driving me CRAZY not knowing what system it was based off of. you showing this book led me to just do a search for "ETTEILLA" which then brought me to wiki where i learned that's a pseudonym of jean-baptiste allietta WHO wrote some tarot books on the correspondences betweent tarot, astrology, and the four classical elements and four humors ANNNND published his own deck that *differs significantly from the classic tarots such as the tarot de marseille in both structure and card designations.* so TLDR; that cool deck i saw on amazon is its own system.
