Great lesson, Carl. I've just re-taken up the mandolin after a hiatus of 50 years. I've amazed myself that I can still remember lots of jigs and reels, but thought I'd add a bit of surprise REM to my repertoire. Now sounding pretty good, thanks to you.

when do each verse, chorus start and end?

Your second chord is an Em not an A

you miscounted , E minor was number { 1 } a variation of a B minor 7 was number { 2 } C was number { 3 } and number 4 is a variation of E minor and not number 3 the 4 chord was not named . But at the end of the day it does not matter .i very much liked your tutorial .

I've been playing mandolin for just about a week and even I know that this is wrong. You're leading people astray. It's played on the open D chord you turd. Open your ears and listen to the song again. P.S also open your eyes and watch a video of Steve Earle playing it.
