Christmas special!
It's all back in the loft now!!
your eye for drawing visual effects is incredible, always a pleasure to see one of these in my feed
Genuinely thought the thumbnail was an in-game screenshot before I saw the author. Fab as always Beetlejude!
Very nice. You are very talented.
This is how you tell someone's a real artist: they have a printing press in their back yard!
Lovely. Lots and lots of detail in that..
It's as if the screen from the game has appeared directly on the screen. Amazing!
Yeah, the outcome of that event might be interesting, now that Fdev have woven it into the lore of the game...
we will see!! ... looking forward to finding out.
It's simply amazing to watch this wonderful piece of art come to life. :) I am giggling here and imagine you painting it en plein air in Hip 22460 while AX pilots are fighting the thargs :) Thank you so much for sharing your art with us, this will certainly inspire me to work on my own stuff next week. o7
cracking my visor open a bit to get a better look at the colour... haha thanks for the kind words
That's a nice drawing.
aw thanks
That's a cool printing press.
Essential for placing your MUG
Ice cream ball but not the moon
oh my! I guess it does look a little ice creamy! I kind of had Miranda in my mind but this moon is less Crinkly and broken than Miranda. maybe more Europa
I don't know how you come up with this stuff, but it's great.
I was going to try and do one each day of December but I might have fallen off the wagon already! I had to make a cake.
@@BeetleJude Hey, you can't eat moons.
You can eat Chinese moon cakes ....
@@BeetleJude hah, you're a glass half full kind of person :)
Gorgeous works. I still haven't been inside one of the thargoid structures. I'm sure to get all panicky & get lost in there. It'll be great fun!
Looks great in front of those backgrounds! Nice work
haha now it's sat on my computer CPU top doing nowt! it's also obsolete as they have slightly changed the design since I copied this
@@BeetleJude Cobra MK4.5
Love the boldness of the red & black paint job. Still haven't bothered getting a FDL, but do enjoy a bit of pirate hunting in my Vulture. I'm garbage at combat, but the 2 large hardpoints get me through. Usually.
I've never given the Vulture a proper chance. It quickly ran out of juice with all the weapons fitted, but I never engineered it at all. Love the shield blast in this one. Makes the whole thing come alive.
…”doorstop, piece of cheese type ship.” 🤣
Well they are though! 😛
@ they should all have names like Wensleydale and Gorgonzola!
Superb - love it. Never tried pastels and enjoyed watching you use them, I’ve now learned some nice techniques. Plus - we all know that pastels are made using compacted space dust and the recycled remnants of Elite Dangerous foes 👍 I like the laser splash on the shield there too. You make this look so easy, but I know full well that making things look easy comes with many hours of practice. Look forward to seeing more. Subscribed 👍
Hurray ❤
hahah love that title 🤣
there's no experience quite like exploring out of your depth in a ship that's just slightly not up to spec for the journey you plan, every jump is a bit too short, every route is a bit circuitous cause you gotta make detours due to the worse fsd, every scoop is stressful cause your heat isn't well managed, every scrape and chip is concerning because you can't repair, every close call is a nailbiter because you removed the shield generators, but it's a wonderful experience when you pull it off
it was refreshing travelling in the Cobra - it felt kind of retro haha
wallace and gromit if they played elite dangerous:
Skills!!! Would make a great fun activity at PitCon. 😊
hahaa its brilliant cmdr 🥰
Utterly genius!
I'm sitting here in front of my PC, after a three hour VR session exploring about 10kly south of Sag A*, my 3D printer is knocking out an Imperial Courier, and I'm watching you indulge your creative passions again by sculpting a Cobra MkV and even now, 6500hrs in, I'm still in awe of this amazing game (it's not a game😉) and its phenomenal community. Hope to see you again at PitCon in April! o7
How lovely. First 3D model of a mkv
As always love to see your work. A bit confused at first when it wast not painting.
Interesting insight in FdL's prototyping process. Looks like there didn't change much since the days of combustion engine powered vehicles in that regard...
Me and my mum loved watching this. Perfect mashup of things we like!
hurray!! <3
Beautiful, well crafted.
daaaw thanks
It's reall interesting seeing how lumps of clay come together into something recognisable - the yet-to-be-released new ship, the Faulcon DeLacy Cobra Mk V (Feet of Clay Edition). Nicely posed at the end too!
I so love making things in clay - i'm surprised how long this took - I've forgotten a lot over the years. heh heh wonky clay variant
Haha Jude! My first things to say when I was watching your video was "Wait! This is not pastel crayon!" We intercepted a footage of Faulcon Delacy's artists sculpting the very first King Cobra. I love it! Did you add the fan favourite SLF hangar? :D
hahah - it feels like there might be one on there doesn't it! I think King Cobra is a much better name!
I love this so much, so creepy and mysterious, and I love your worldbuilding within the drawings. How do you go about preserving your drawings after you've made them with chalk pastel (I'm assuming that's what it is).
I try and fix them but often if i've used a textured paper they're fairly resilient, I daren't think what they end up like once they've got to people though!
No words for the feelings you get being in the cave. Beautiful job as always!
awesome picture as ever Beetlejude 🥰
so tory party ideas centre🙂
Amazing drawings as always :D
daaaaw thanks
Elite is great at pulling you into the world. No other game has caused me so much anxiety. 🙂
it is!! I also feel it when I visit a spire site or hit a black hole.
Wow what a treat! How many drawings was that? I must admit that I enjoy you talking over your videos :) I must also admit that I've never been inside one of these caves, despite having seen how beautiful a display they can dish out. I noticed that you used some rock shaped templates in one of your drawings. Do you make them specific for each time you decide to use them? The result is really good.
awww that's an amalgamation of four pictures I've done over the years - I made it for the JustAbout website - so these aren't new but let me know if you ever want a picture doing! it's definitely worth going to one of those cave for a look around - the central chamber is very impressive, Those templates are just for pictures as I need them . I bin them after use. thanks so much for taking a interest 🙂
@@BeetleJude I have a very old cat called Johan. He's been through a lot and has spent most of his lives by now. I don't expect it'll be long before he decides to head over to the eternal hunting grounds. It would mean a lot to us if we had a more permanent image of him than some pics on a phone. Would you consider doing something like that?
@@TheHighlander71 Of course!
@@BeetleJude oh that's sweet. thanks. I can send you some photos of him if you like
yeah go for it 🙂
When I saw the title of this video in my notifications I thought it would be a drawing of Sirius, guess it's time to poke my head up out of Elite: Dangerous ;) Great drawing!
Loving this <3
I loved reading it out TBH - such a great story! <3
Incredible 🤗
I've been playing Elite for years, but there are always things I haven't seen or done. I think I've been to this particular base once, but should really travel to Colonia over the bridge. If only to unlock the engineers there. Wonderful drawing again. Your ship stands out with that colour :)
Looking to head out to Colonia for the first time as a decent shakedown for the Mandalay. Mammon sounds amazing, will have to be sure to stop in there!
I've been to Colonia several times, but never took the bridge, I always take the scenic route, so I have some new systems to discover. Also another beautiful drawing.
