How To Go From English Teacher to Salaryman
I often get questions about how to go from teaching English to another career in Japan so in today's video I'm going to talk about how and why I did that. Keep in mind that this isn't going to be the case for everybody but I think this is the case for the vast majority of us. Also keep in mind that if you're going to work in Japan at a Japanese company, it is going to come with a lot of cultural differences and things you're going to have to get used to. Perhaps things you wouldn't experience as an English teacher.

Japanese Lesson 3 - Studying Katakana

Native speakers are great for conversation partners. But sometimes learning from people who have been through the trenches themselves is the best way to learn. Learning how to read and write the basics of Japanese, hiragana and katakana, can seem very daunting. But I'm here to show you that it is indeed possible. And you don't even have to be that smart (I'm proof!). Don't forget to post your m...

Learning Japanese - An Introduction
มุมมอง 1232 ปีที่แล้ว
Japanese may be one of if not the hardest language for native English speakers to learn. And just like many other difficult things, I think getting started is the hardest part. Now with the internet there are a lot of resources out there but which ones are worth investing time and effort in? Which ones are actually practical? I want to help anyone out there who is interested in learning Japanes...

Akita Prefecture!! - Everything You Need To Know
มุมมอง 3.5K3 ปีที่แล้ว
It will soon mark three years since I’ve been living in Akita and since I will be moving to Tokyo this summer, I wanted to sit down and make a video about all the things I love about that place that has come to be my second home. We talk about a whole lot in the video but I’ll sum up the contents: How to pronounce Akita, what the weather is like here, population statistics, mascots and characte...
What is 'Corona Discrimination'?
มุมมอง 1613 ปีที่แล้ว
Overall Japan is very safe in terms of corona. However the attitudes in the urban areas are very different than the attitudes in the rural areas. I am not making this video about covid 19 in Japan to scare or deter anyone but I think discussing this would be of value to many, those in japan or perhaps those yet to come. Check below for examples of corona sabetsu: www3.nhk.or.jp/news/html/202010...

JAPANESE BANDS AND ARTISTS YOU DON'T KNOW... BUT SHOULD!
Thank you! I just switched my major to Japanese (asian studies, but Japanese) and this really connected with me! I am an aspiring missionary. I've felt so uneasy with this change, but this made me feel a bit better!
Well, I thing the theory exam is not that easy. I live in the Japanese country side and the translation Japanese-English for the exam seems to have a lot of mistakes, so the sentences sometimes don´t make sense. The questions also have unbelievable pitfalls (even in Japanese) on details that are not even relevant for the actual driving... But well... I have to keep trying 😮💨 shouganai na!
Met a girl like that in Japan, looked so innocent...later I found out that rumor has it, she had 10 boyfriends! 😮😮😮😮😮
I definitely have experience with Japanese in general. I would say I have the sample size to verify a lot of things. welcome to contact if you have questions.
Imma be real despite learning Japanese and progressing at least a little bit it stopped short due to the fact I simply felt embarrassed to know it or even speak it. I don’t exactly know where this stems from but it’s something I’m facing. I’m also learning French too so I’m gonna probably jump straight to this same issue there again. I haven’t interacted with the jp lang community much cause of that. I saw someone on HelloTalk post about how sad they felt for people learning Japanese because they felt like they were just obsessed in the anime stuff as well. Even if it wasn’t about that, about quote on quote yellow fever. It still came off really offensive. I hope I can come back to learning with an open mind a bit more. I agree with a lot of the points in this video.
I’m a foreigner going to Japan looking for a foreigner😂
Dude! Epic video! I just wondering about the weather in Summer > Crazy Hot? Obvs its better than big cities, but is it still quite unbearable and humid?? I was thinking of going to North Japan in August to escape the heat, but it seems, its not much colder!? Cheers man!
It will be a cuple degrees cooler but depending on what you're used to still melting hot haha. Hope you have a chance to visit one day!
@@Anthony-wk7cn haha I thought as much! Yeah man I struggle with heat!! Hope so too! Cheers for getting back..
I think it's more what the young people hear through western media. Japan as a country sticks to more conservative values. You see less drugs, less sleeping around and more respect for husband and fathers.
💀
Loved the info dude❤ u got a new sub
is there an option to put the game in english?
There is an official English translation!
@@Anthony-wk7cn in the japanese version?
My family on my mom's side is from Daisen a town in Akita prefecture.I lived there when I was younger and I miss it so much....I wonder if my grandmother's home is still there....
Sukeshiro Terata who was the governor of Akita Prefecture.
I love your videos. Keep me inspired and makes me more passionate about learning Japanese. Pls come back soon
Thank you for additional information :)
Some good advice here. However, for Okinawa (Naha) you are NOT allowed on the course to walk it/learn it. You are not expected to memorize the course here, the proctor gives directions as you go. Second, you definitely CAN drive too fast. On this course, the maximum zone is 40. The rest of the time, I drove at what I felt were slow speeds but the proctor said I was too fast at all times and through all corners. So the advice about driving like you were in a crowded elementary parking lot is pretty graphic (and accurate). Last, the part about being at the mercy of the proctor you're assigned is unfortunately true. I had several hints before I even started on my first attempt that I wouldn't be allowed to pass (slipped words about "next time", for example). Best advice is be patient and play their game. As Anthony says in the video, this ISN'T the way driving is actually done.
Aku menonton ini untuk tugas kuliahku dan ini sangat membantu. Terima kasih 🤩
Why use a picture of yang mi the most respected chinese actress
Your video has a lot of interesting information, good job! Thanks 😊. I hope we get to see Akita one day.
Quick question, did Explorers of Sky use Kanji or was it just Hiragana and Katakana? I heard that back then Japanese retro games didn’t use Kanji for memory/space related reasons. Thanks in advance!
I mentioned it in the video but yes, no kanji!
It depends on where you live as well. In aichi, it has the highest number of driving collisions, so they are extremely strict compared to tokyo. I know because i lived in both tokyo and aichi and took the tests in both locations.
Whaaaaa??? I searched 'Akita japan' and this is one of my first hits! Hope you are doing well :)
Yes, I've noticed that the Japanese language learning community is extremely gatekeepy and some people get really nasty if you so much as say you have a Japanese friend who helps you. I was verbally attacked just today just for talking about my experiences. The level of negativity took me by surprise because it was really unnecessary. These people are totally bizarre! 🤷
Is akita is province? How many hours it takes travel from akita to Tokyo japan? Thank you for answering my question sir🙇
You know for a "reality show based in japan" the amount of western dating culture projecting off it is blinding almost like its fake or something.
Most of us guys here really need to be laced up on game when it comes to Japanese women. I haven’t been to Japan yet, but videos like these are eye openers for me to stay laced up, because no matter where you are women or women. Women like the one in the video who behaves like this need to be charged to the game and that’s real talk
That nigga is a player that is wasup
G'day from Melbourne, Australia 🦘🇭🇲 I'm fluent in English because I was born and raised here in Australia. I know some French too, because I learnt it from my parents, because they went to a French school, and lived in France. I'm about to complete my Diploma of Japanese course at the end of this year, and start my Bachelor's degree of Japanese.
Is this a live lesson that you host or something? if so, how could I join?
No it’s not! These are videos I make since I’m to busy to give personal lessons these days
Thank u for the info, this will help me a lot
I dream of a Japanese wife. A beautiful woman, strong, independent and modern. Now, Japanese women are career oriented, more liberal and wear designer clothing. But they cannot forget who they are or where they come from. Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga I have concluded. I cannot go to Japan and marry a Japanese woman beacause unlike the Japanese women, I am neither handsome nor strong, not even independent nor modern. I'm so sorry but I must not. It is not in the best interest of a Japanese woman.☝️😄

thanks for this video. I've wanted to learn japanese since middle school (yes because of anime from the start) which blossomed into a overall passion. But it's not until now (28) that I finally decided to get to studying in college. I'm starting my studies now at home to get a good start.
this ''reality'' show is complete B.S. you think that yui really thought that she wouldn't get found out?!! Who would tell such a bold face lie on camera like that, and a Japanese person at that. They are so prideful, i do not belive that she would lie like that. i don't see this as an acurate source of info. but who knows, i could be wrong.

Just as a mention most kei cars do use a 3 cylinder engine with is hard in the mountains, but most Kei cars made by Subaru have a 4 cylinder engine which in my experience is better for mountain roads.
More disturbing than any lies by the characters in the video clips are the realization that Japan has copied the style of shitty tabloid reality shows so popular in the U.S. Way to go, Japan!
This looks like so much fun!
The black pill will always be the biggest truth
Did you know that katakana and hiragana are similar to hebrew? anyway can you make a video discussing the cons and pros of getting a bachelor and trying to live in japan and find work there. also what about people who don't have a bachelor degree but very few experience in some field but less than 10 years maybe 3 years in hotels, tourism ect...
I have a video like that from a couple years ago. Please check out my older videos! :)
