I just picked up a used Snipe, so I've been watching videos about it. This is my favorite! The music seems SO appropriate for DLG flying! (Especially acrobatic flying... it's like watching modern dance!)

What motor, controller and batteries did you use? Is the motor include in the RR version? It seeams it has much more power. Thanks
Its a standard ROXXY C35-48-990kV (i thinkRR) 55A esc on 11"x7" on 3s 5000mAh. i like the heavier battery because of the higher momentum of the plane. more power wouldnt hurt, but its not necessary either.

@@DasMateoKollektiv My friend made a fairly good sized one. Similar to the bigger one shown here. We started it up in his garage, but had to shut it off after a few seconds. Like maybe 3 or 4 seconds. It was extremely loud and he was afraid his neighbors would freak out. I dont think he's ran it since

You can get used ones pretty cheap on the forums or other classifieds, an other really good option to start out is the Libelle DLG from dreamflight, very robust, flies great, got me hooked!
I am going to purchase a shark soon, they are made by a manufacturer in czech republic and go for around 190€ and are really high quality composite airplanes with carbon fuselages andcarbon reinforced wings, so i think you get the most bang for your buck there

You are right about the strength of 3d printed parts for such applications...it's a great way to make a prototype to get a feel of it...but for this you can consider the same design milled ?!

Thanks. The glides are quite decent. I just developed a small part for the wing mount...it's hard plastic laser cut and wrapped with carbon tow....we can exchange notes if it interests you...what's your email?

280g, the wing and the tail was fixed with 3d printed parts. It turned out not to be stable enough to withstand the tossing forces. I highly recommend buying a cmposite DLG ^^
