Hello thank you for the tutorial on changing the handle that does not work but my question to you is if the sensor is working but the handle still doesn’t unlock the door. I also use the key and though the key turns the door still refuses to unlock should I still changethe handle would that help my problem thank you for your response and thanks again great video
You’ve either got a broken cable or door lock module
No diagnostics? Just swap parts?
Literally a part in the video of me saying how to test them

Hi, thanks a lot. Very clear video and instructions! One question. Which gasket maker should be used? Cheers
Few you can use, a lot of people have their own preferences. You could use dealer sealant or loctite, my garage uses derko
@@owensautotips Should it be silicone, anaerobic or RTV? I am gonna do this job soon, my biggest concern is oil leakage after it's done... Elring dirko, is that what you are using? No leakage reported? Thanks

How did yu adjust it?
You don’t, you install the new chain and tensioner. When you pull the pin out the tensioner it will self tension.
@@owensautotips ohh yess I mean how to you rotate it soo it's timed well? I wanted to see that part since the timing was off before you installed the chain thank you 👏
@Gucciskits you can put a spanner on than camshafts to move then cams in line then out the chain on both cams to hold the tension
@owensautotips - no idea why you didn't drain the diesel to a container to check if there actually was water in the fuel. As some of the questions below (and is the case with mine) it's often an erroneous message to do with wiring/earthing and nothing to do with water. I changed my filter (still had original on a MY13) and sensor and was still getting the error, so going to investigate the wiring. In terms of resetting the error message, if your OBDII tool resets any errors, then it's likely it will do this one - mine is a £50 one from Autel and does almost anything, so it's not about the price.
No need to check the fuel, if the water in fuel indicator is on then that’s what it’s down too. Poor fuel quality from wherever they have filled up. If it was a connector issue or ground it wouldn’t have reset.. but thanks for your input 👍
It's all fun and games untill the car run you over or the very least run over your foot , if one of your colleagues shifted the car in any gear for whatever reason or attempted to retreive tools or stuff in the passenger seat / floor and leaned over the gear knob and knocked it into gear, assuming weak or not engaged parking brake. Stay safe out there. Best of luck
@@MailboxReviews I mean no one ever touches my work but okay haha
@@owensautotips Better safe than sorry, cranking the engine from outside the car with no way to stop the car, access to parking brake or gear knob is near impossible with little time to react the only way the car could stop is collison to shop wall or some hard object. Probably the worst thing that mechanics fear of is giving guidance to customers to drive into a bay or up a ramp (pedal misapplication is one thing), i don't think customers are allowed into the shops in the first place in U.K or Ireland. All the best 👍 Stay safe out there 🥽🪖🧤
Do you have any suggestions for me: My santa fe 2015 trunk SOMETIMES wont open. When it wont open, the button press doesnt make any noise (like the latching noise). Randomly it will start working again and the latching noise will return of course. My mechanic has not been able to replicate the issue as my car is gaslighting me and decides to work every time i take it to the mechanic. Any ideas? Is it the actuator or the switch? Or something more? Thanks fir your video and your time reading this 😊
You would need to test the powers on the plugs when actuating it. Boot switch plug and the latch plug and hopefully it faults. When it does no voltage will display when pressed
How do you know when the issue is the button and not the actuator for the machine on the latch? The door wouldn’t close because the latch wouldn’t lock, so I slammed it a bit harder and then the latch stuck but now it won’t open. My thought is something is wrong with the lock mechanism but if the button isn’t working to open the latch, then maybe that’s the issue too. Thanks for this video, it’s the closest thing I can find to my specific issue!
@@sloopjohnb602 you need a wiring diagram and back probe the wires. When the button is pressed you’ll see voltage. Same as the latch if your getting voltage at the button wire than test to see if your getting power at the latch when pressing the button
We need definitely more videos like that. Greets from Germany

@@sonofsouth2800 30k miles? Is the head gasket faulty? Don’t see why you would pull the head off unless it’s faulty

Unsure buddy I don’t do the pricing I just fix them, might be worth calling your local garage for a quote as different areas will have different labour rates etc
Hi I am facing same issue, heavy, insane oil consumption for the 1.2 puretech engine. and recently while trying to accelerate near signals after a complete stop i am able to see white smoke as well. is it good to repair or replace the whole engine ? because repair seems to be costing around 2500 to 3000 euros and new engine including labour is costing 5000 euros in total. what would you suggest ? my car millage is 1,70,000 km already.
If it’s smoking badly then I would suggest your piston rings are also failing. I would replace the whole engine at that point
@@owensautotips Thanks a lot for taking time to reply to my comment.
Great videos and info! Thanks for the work. Just had 3rd motor put in and still the same "rattling/grinding" noise. Car shop insisting noise not coming from reduction gear. Should we continue to fight the service or just give up? 😅
Thanks for the feedback 😀 at that point I would just back the car onto them 😂
Do the spark plugs need to face a certain way once tightened?

Great video for me as I'm about to either adjust or replace the brake light switch on my 2011 FD i30. There is no earth wire running from the switch now as supplied new when purchased from Hyundai. Also in your video there didn't seem to be one on either. So I'm curious why you installed an earth wire when. you did the switch replacement? Is it required? I didnt think you could turn ignition on witout engine on keyless start?
Yeah don’t depress the clutch or brake
I've seen that you can either buy the whole assembly or Delphi bolt on pencil coils so retaining the original frame/mount but getting a well know brand for the same price as a generic whole frame. I assume that it's on the actual coils that will provide an improvement on ignition not the whole frame?

Hey buddy, I've recently replaced timing chain all 4 guides and new tensioner on my Rio. Due to rattle (worse from cold) Sounds 100% like timing chain rattle. After replacing all the parts the rattle is still there and I'd say it's getting worse. All Kia genuine parts used. Any ideas what can cause that? Do you know if these suffer with vvt pulleys making rattle noises? Or something like oil pump not creating enough pressure for the tensioner? Why are you changing the rockers and lifters, cant quite hear what you said in the video? Many thanks 👍
I changed the lifter and rockers due to them seizing up, could be the pump chain or like you said pick up could be blocked and causing less oil pressure.. if a turbo model could be the turbo actuator rattling
thank you for sharing
@@josephhalwagy6435 thank you
Whatif u dont program the injector
Then it won’t recognise that injector and it will not fire properly
Wrong. Side opposite tension shouldn't have slack
Completely wrong, free floating crank for a reason.
@owensautotips can you please explain? Do you mean there's no keyway on the crank? How would the slack be taken up
@husseinsaad1381 the crank spindle where the belt goes is free floating, so it constantly moves or spins when putting the belt on. Until the crank pulley is on and torqued the pressure of that will then stop the crank pulley on the belt side spinning by itself and then moves with the crankshaft
long shot, have a 2018 ioniq that had a small bump in the front and has the same errors AEB and smart cruise faults, i know the emblem is damaged but could the radar unit behind be bent back to level and function correctly if it is just bent out of calibration ? (given there is no damage to the radar unit face)
@@gubertron249 if the radar isn’t damaged sometimes they can be bent back if they damage isn’t severe
@@owensautotips alright, I’m going to attempt just that and see what happens

Might be able to clear the code with a scanner which can scan the relevant module but most of the time they will need recalibration
