Schemas, Assimilation and Accomodation: Jean Piaget's Epistemological Concepts
Jean Piaget set out to explain how children’s minds develop, enabling them to adapt to the environment. To do this, he developed five basic cognitive conceptualisations to illustrate the development of human knowledge acquisition. This video looks at the first three concepts: SCHEMAS, ASSIMILATION and ACCOMODATION, and is taken from the book Who the Hell is Jean Piaget? by Dr Jessica Koehler available from Amazon at www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1838228659.
