DubTech | Featuring Perkons HD-01 meets OP1-Field and Meris
Testing a new toy I got for my Bday, the OP1-Field used from Reverb. I hope to capture textures and sound designs I can run along with my live set. And make changes on the fly during a set. The small size fits in nicely with the group to handle those tasks. Cutting my teeth on it now. This was the first test run. My MPC is sending chord notes to the Op1 and start-stop sync for the Tape machine. The tape machine had a chord I slowed down and sent through the pedals. No samples from my MPC. Perkons Send-outs are going into DAW with some Reverb and FX from Arturia coldfire.

Is there something special about it that you like?
@@klementus Hi! Im so happy to hear you enjoyed it. After a few years I can say the Perkons is my favorite drum machine to use for its simplicity and hands on approach. I made a video on my thoughts awhile back and my feelings are still the same.

Try a t1 torso to sequence it and record then. Unlimited fun

Thank you! I think starting with a single machine like an elektron digitakt would be good. The setup I use allows easy access to the knobs so i enjoy the live tweaking but pricey to start depending on your budget.

@@Noise-Maker I do wish it offered two things: resonance control and 3 more delays. I think for the price, individual delay settings for each voice is not unreasonable and man, would that take it over the top. The way it is, I'd want to run external pedals for that and, well... that's clunky and more money... but doable of course.

Hi thanks for sharing your experience! Can I ask do you use main out or just individual voice send routed to the DAW?
I use a combo and it can be different every time. Lately, I am using both. I will have the main outs for Voices 2-4 and go directly out with my Kick. I may also use the sends on voices 2-4 so I can perform with FXs on each channel. Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you need any help.

Honestly, I don't hear what you mean by 'glitch'? What i hear are beats from a synth. But, 'glitch' seems to be a term thrown around (incorrectly) a lot. -at least from what i know of the 'glitch' work done in the late '90s - '10s.(which was inspired from much earlier works) . When i think of 'glitch', i [especially] think of the specific style developed by Oval (and others) by tweaking CD players/discs to get that glitchy/repeating texture type of sound. Anyway, I guess people could call their work whatever they want to call it -even if it causes confusion.
Yeah I sometimes wonder if i use the right terms for these things. Sorry if I mislead you.
@@Noise-Maker Thanks! Though i did choose your video to hear some of what I like in 'glitch' (since it's becoming a rare medium), I enjoyed your piece nonetheless. Definitely a strong piece, no doubt! Yeah, all art forms, at some point or another, start to get 'classification' terms incorrectly cross-referenced. I see/hear it all the time in the visual arts. I hear 'abstract' all the time. That's a highly misused term thrown around for so many types of work -most of which isn't 'abstract' in the slightest...heheh. Ah, well. There are more important things to be worried about.
