Hello there guys,
Scotty says cars are money pits🤣. Yes they are money pits if you don't fix them yourself. In this channel we see how we can cut costs by fixing cars ourselves.
If I can do it, trust me, you can definitely do it. Research and always ask a professional to help if you fail.
Please, guys, be careful when working under the car! It is the only thing that risks a serious injury or even death.
Peace ✌

KIA E-NIRO GEARBOX FAULT bearings failed!
Just when we thought things were going well, disaster struck! It looks like this is a common fault on kia and hyundai electric cars. The bearings fail prematurely, and no one seems to have found the cure to solve this fault completely.
The oil from the gearbox comes out darker than the engine oil on diesel trucks. Shocking!
I have explained what I think could be cause this fault as much as I can.
All details are on the video, and if you hear a mistake, please comment below.

I like that color. If you charge with a fast charger charge only to 75%. It is to (more) slow after that. You have also a 7,5kW ac charger. Eco mode, reduces the power of the car, not the regen. The regen you can program it or change it manually.

@eliaselkadi2891 Some cars have a plug under the gearbox to remove oil. My citroen doesn't. I am not sure if citroen and peugeot were one company in 2002. However, when you remove the short driveshaft, put a bucket underneath to catch oil or else is going to be a mess. A correct size magnetic drain plug is an improvement and no manufacturer could show it caused any issue and hence not a valid excuse to refuse warranty.
@richardhaywoodh once the warranty is over, I will replace all bearings to full ceramic bearings. Remove the filter magnet, is a dumb idea. Put magnetic plugs. Change oil regularly.
I got my dealer to change the transfer box oil AND I supplied them with a new magnetic drain plug

Thanks, for showing about the hidden bolt. Am I right in saying you can only get to it with an open ended spanner? I ask because I'm having a real problem undoing the bolt. Any suggestions please.
@properjob7970 you need a deep 13mm to remove the nut that holds the dpf bracket. Remove gearbox bolt with a spanner because a socket can't fit
Sorry, which hidden bolt are talking about?
@fix-and-drive-diy-repairs the one you mentioned in the video which was stopping the gearbox from being removed. I removed the deep bolt and nut 13mm, but can't undo the bolt with open ended spanner also 13mm I can't get a good enough grip .
@properjob7970 try to use a hexagon spanner so that you don't round it. That would become a nightmare to remove it. Where are you in the UK?

@paulacklam1172 ok thanks
I have the same c4 grand Picasso 2016 the citroen oil recommendations on the car say use ( 0w 30 ) but u used (5w30 )
@aaldashti 0w30 is good in very cold weather, but 5w30 is good for warmer weather. I've never used 0w30 on any diesel car though. Is too light.
I have oil change but they add 5w 30 and after 1000 miles i so oil leaking maybe from rocker cover gasket what you think its from the oil ? Im thinking to replace the rocker cover gasket and switch the oil back to 0w 30 in uk its very cooled winter so its better to replace it same time
@aaldashti you need to use only Total Quartz INEO 5w30 to avoid damaging silicone gasket between camshaft casing and cylinder head. I learned the hard way on my other citroen. I had to dismantle the engine to put a new gasket! 0w30 oil is very light. It is more likely to leak than 5w30 oil. 0w30 oil warms quickly, and it is good for fuel economy. Most toyota hybrid cars use it. 5w30 is light, but not like 0w30. When I owned a toyota prius, I used 0w20 oil in winter, but in summer, hydraulic lifters rattled, so toyota used 5w30 oil.
thank you for this video, I am going to do mine soon this helps a lot. Halfords sells the same design filter too, no necessary to go dealer because I don't have one near me. I would just cover the opening with bags to prevent dust and particles going inside while changing filter.
@Loftikaz if you change it atleast every 15k miles, I think it will be fine. Thanks for the advice about covering while changing the filter 👍
@@fix-and-drive-diy-repairs just did it today it was very easy however the filter like yours didn't have the outer casing even it showed it in the picture but it works fine I guess it was the same size, I bought all 3 different filters ECP provides and the cheapest one fitted. next time I'll try get one from dealer.
@Loftikaz well done mate. Me too, next service I will use a genuine filter from Citroen dealer. I would rather spend a little bit more on a filter than deal with blocked injectors.

Hi. Have you done a coolant change on this car type.

How many miles has the car done buddy?

Very interesting and helpful but why go from turbo change to air filters 🤔
Yes, it is best the other way round. Learning curve 😂
Best to heat your engine nice and hot before removal much easier
Thanks bro, I will try that next time
If most of your routes are around town you'll be fine - but those longer journey's get expensive. And don't forget, your range is massively reduced when it's cold.
Yes bro, I bought this only for city driving only. Our Citroen Picasso is for long journeys.
Japanese cars rust... people claim VW cars like VW, Skoda, Seat are reliable... they're no more reliable providing they're serviced. Just like you said.

Great video. I'd recommend changing the rubber bushings on the air box too, as it's common for the to degrade and allow the air box to move and rattle. There are 4 bushes in total (all the same). 2 are seen at the base of the bolts that the engine cover clips to, and the other 2 need the air box taking out as they're underneath. Part number is 1422A4. Usually comes as a pack of 4. Beware some that sell individually.

Thanks for the video. Maybe disconnect the battery before removing MAF sensor plug. You certainly need to remove the air box top cover. Judging by the air filter i removed, it looked like someone had tried to install it without removing top cover ... lower part of the filter rolled up 😢.
Thanks, I will try to do that next time
Instead of disconnecting the battery before you disconnected the maf sensor, just unscrew the torx for the maf sensor and take out the sensor still plugged in. You can the remove the top of the air box without disturbing any electrics.
@danlat1415 good idea too and thank you mate
@@fix-and-drive-diy-repairs also a good time to spray the maf sensor with electrical contact cleaner and let it dry for a few minutes

on the last part why do you need to bend it? is it ok not to bend ? looks like messy looks
You need to lock it.
You could also do a check with a multitester. While the pump is still attached to the container. And with a "New 9volt battery" 6LR61/MN1604 Put the neg/pos either way round across the terminals. There is enough voltage to spin the motor, without taking it out.
Thanks for the advice. 👍
