FYI....It is called a pitless adapter, and you should put silicone grease on the O-ring before you put the pipe back into the well and reconnect the pitless adapter.
Did You have to unscrew the pipe that's going into the house? Will the actual well pipe come out without you digging down into the ground and removing that pipe? I'm having the same issue I can't keep prime in my pump's going to burn up I just need to know if I have to unscrew that area where you said you had a leak first or can I just pull that pipe up once I get access to it with that tool The t-bar tool?
Its been awhile, but I'll give it a try. I didn't have to unscrew the pipe going to the house. The pipe should come out without digging into the ground. You should be able to access it from top of the well by removing the well cover. It turns out that the leak or the bad foot valve could have caused the pump not holding prime. So they are actually 2 separate issues and should be performed separately.
What about cleaning deposits that are probably in the tubes themselves?? I would imagine there are deposits downin the bottom, just like the bottom of a standard hot water tank.
Yes that occurs. There are different ways to flush it out. I eventually got a water softener and all those issues are gone.
This product sucks
This product has some flaws, but I am glad I have it. It requires some maintenance but the good part is it is very easy to troubleshoot and fix if you have the maintenance docs.
Looks like the 27 is to big for your application as the third element is never turning on which is why its so clean. Always label wires. And I always take iphone pictures of any device I work on and will be dissembling. And its a very good idea if you use a tankless to install 2 Big Blue water filters one a sediment and the other a carbon. I'm on street water and the rust is incredible. Everyone thinks hey I'm on street how could it be bad well its bad because some of the pipes the water see in town are extremely old. Don't believe me take the cover off your toilet and look at the tank and see how black it is in there. Also in my town there hitting the house with 60 lbs of pressure. That's unnecessary and hard on all the fixtures and pipes especially if you live in an old house and have had a few pipe leaks. I installed a water regulator on my main in and i'm running 45 lbs and see no diff in touch. 45 lbs is plenty.
3 pieces of pvc pipe large enough to slip the elements into, capped at one end, and just long enough to submerge the element portion. Takes less vinegar and completely cleans the elements. While they are soaking, use a bottle brush to clean the inside of the pipes and dislodge any scale there, then use a little water to flush most of that out. Flush the last of it after you reinstall the elements. I use a hose connected to the outflow side that is long enough to run to the nearby sink and a fitting that replaces where my screen is but doesn't have the screen. Swap that back when you are done.
Thanks for the insight I just had a failure with my well
Does it matter how the wires are reattached??
Just make sure the wires going to each heating element remain the same. The 2 longest wires should go to the furthest element, the 2 shortest wires should go the closest element, etc. As far as which wire goes to the specific side of an individual element, it doesn't matter.
Mine is 140 feet deep same problem...
Thank you so much! I am 74 years old but never to old to learn something new. I probably won't be trying it myself but I like to know what I am paying for. I might have tried it myself but it is 206 degrees outside. Thanks again!!!!
Strongly recommend attaching a rope to pipe below pitiless adapter. This can help retrieve pipe if the tool to remove pitiless adapter comes loose or pitless adapter breaks.
Very annoying 'music'. Not needed.
Thanks for the video! Very informative and helpful. I really hope my problem is not the foot valve….
Will the heating elements having a build up on them cause the water heater to stop working?
I believe it can prevent it from heating the water properly causing it to stop working
My electric went off for a few hours. When it came back on the water didnt work. We tried to prime it last night but the pump just makes a humming sound, then cuts off and on and off.. any suggestions??
Ever fix it ?
@@maxnorcrest9563 we ended up buying a new pump. But it's funny u should ask, because this pump keeps messing up. I have to tap the little black box on the side of it. But other times we have to keep priming it to get it on. Idk if it loses prime because of the box shorting out. I dont see any ants in the box or dirt so idk why it keeps doing it. The water is off as we speak
Mine was doing that it I needed a new check valve between pump and well pipe But water stopped after that a little while later water went after that I think my foot valve is cloged or check valve stuck shut in well I got a new pump after the hum burned out from no check valve and did the on a few off few days thing after got that new check valve great but now stops getting water screen/foot Valve cloged Could be that or your pressure tank not holding If it gets hot then not getting enuff water to keep cool and it's not holding in pump
Hello there could you please tell me where I can find the water flow resistor like yours? I can’t find one online. Best regards!

@@gerardjuravich280 Thank you very much!
Thanks great info! Are you using PVC pipe?
The black pipe was PVC pipe.
Thanks for this, I had the 18 for around 3 years and have never cleaned it. I plan on removing it, then cleaning and re-installing. I just bought another new one to have on hand in case this one craps out.
did you have to prime the line to get water to pump?
Generally, yes, you do.
Thank you for this, I'm installing a spin down water filter from the main line before connecting to the tankless and then after cleaning the elements flush it with filtered water but first need to buy the filter lol, anyway thanks for this, now i feel more confident on doing so
I have the same unit but I keep getting an e5 code "high flow rate" what type of resistor would you recommend or which one did you use?? Thank you
Seem mine only threw that code when washer was running , I backed off pressure on washer and that fixed mine
Hose clamps on the drop pipe??
?
A couple thoughts. 1. You have to be pretty careful when you get the pipe loose from the Quick disconnect - say its deeper than you realized and the pipe is galvanized iron pipe (and its likely full of water). That can be a lot of weight and the person pulling might loose control and mash their hands as the T of removal tool hits the top of the well casing.. A second person with a pipe wrench on the tool might keep from loosing control. 2. I cringed as I saw him with the pipe and the quick disconnect over the open well casing without the removal tool already attached. What if he dropped it in the casing before attaching the tool. Big problem. Be safe, assume s..t will happen.
It's a foot valve. Which is used for a shallow well. It's not going to be galvanized pipe because it's only 20' to 50' deep. He dud a fine job. You don't know what your talking about.
This is awesome. Well guy upgraded me to a pitless years ago. I forgot how they come out. Thanks!
How does that other end opposite of the foot valve lock in place?
Can i install isolator valves and flush calcium using pump with calcium dissolver like calci free and circulate thru the system for 20 minutes.
I don't see why not.
I don’t see how to flush. More detail would be great for the flushing. I understand how to change out the elements but not sure about flushing etc. Thank you
The flush occurs after you clean the elements. Put the elements back in. Hook up the cold water input to the system. Don't connect the hot water output line. Keep the power turned off. Put a bucket under the hot water output. Allow cold water to flow through. It will come out the hot water output and should have white flakes coming out. Keep flushing until the flakes stop coming out. It may take 4 or 5 buckets. Then connect the hot water side and turn the electric back on to the unit.
My 3-year-old eco-stupid 27 was water hammering yesterday. I went down to the basement and turned off all 3 circuit breakers and the water hammering stopped. My serviceman died of the covid 19. The eco-stupid was also activated although not in use. I could feel the heat. Eco-stupid. Now I'm trying to figure out why the eco-stupid was heating water even though none was flowing through it. Thankfully I had it set on 110 deg. F., or it might have blown up.
I installed my Eco 27 about 10 years ago. Has been working trouble free since. Had a couple hiccups at first but great since. I will probably put in a Heat Pump Water Heater next.
So you are switching tank water heater next.. Can I know why
@@ChandraSekharUppalapati because heat pump water heaters are so efficient and i will put it next to my wood stove making it even more efficient. I will also put duct work on the HP outlet to direct the cold air to the living room above for summer to take advantage of the cooling annd dehumidifying. If you run a dehumidifier already, you'll essentially get you hot water for free.
Do you have to seal the elements when re-installing like with pipe tape or pipe lube when screwing the elements back in?
No
Should have lift up and down to prime drop leg.
How had the unit held up since the vid was made 4 years ago. Have you replaced it yet ? Or is it still going strong?
Glad to say its still going strong. I do have to treat those heating elements though about twice a year.
@@gerardjuravich280 have you thought about putting an in line filter on the cold feed to remove most of the minerals
@@gerardjuravich280 Meaning you have hard water like I do. The calcium and magnesium salts are hell on our water systems here in Asheville. If I keep this eco-stupid, I'm going to install a filter.
How much was the tool and where did you get it ? Thank you so much for your video it was very informative 😊
It's just 1" Black iron pipe. You make it with a 6' length or 1" pipe, a tee fitting, and 2 shirt 6"x1" nipples.
What should you charge to change a foot valve on a well
Great video i have no flush vales for my ecosmart 11. Can i do this also?
Citric acid is much better than vinegar, stronger, cheap and no smell, when using a recirculation pump
John 14:6 Jesus saith I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father except by me.
What is that removal tool called?
Most of the wells are like this one?
How to service a 160 foot motor
Hey I have a question do I have to cut off the power to the tankless water heater just to clean the filter
Yes you should remove power to the heater
How many meters your deep well?
20 to 30 meters
@@gerardjuravich280 how far the foot valve to the injector pls?
What size wrench was use to remove the heating elements?
Not sure, I used an adjustable wrench
You can buy an element wrench at home depot or any hardware store
great work now i do not need a plumber anymore
How much scale is inside the tubes and how to remove that easily?
They sell jet sweat just for that.
What is the numerical time measurement for “quite some time”?
Very good question. I think, more than "a little while".
Actually I think it was a couple hours.
I just flush the whole unit with white vinegar using a Watts tankless heater valve
WHY DID YOU NOT INSTALL A WATER FILTER SYSTEM..ONLY $40.00..
What type of filter?
That's what I want to know
Wow, you made that look easy..Great job 👍👍💚
