The bread ruins it. Its too hard. They use a different bakery now and no more ciabatta or focaccia which was the way to go before.
@1302inc we can see why people wouldn't like it. But to be honest... we loved the bread. We like crunchy, though, so that's just our preference

Probably a little far south, but Beyer Deli on Beyer Blvd, in San Ysidro area. Mom and pop shop in an industrial area but the New Yorker sandwich is insane.

Hey, guys! New subscriber here. You need to check out DZ Akins on Alvarado in San Diego. Great all around jewish deli with a long history and wonderful staff. Take the 8 to 70th St/Lake Murray. You won’t be disappointed!

Turkado and the Veggie Delite/Supreme are my go tos at Board and Brew. Should do a plain review of the shop to give non locals a taste of the good stuff at Board and Brew.
I know, we really should! Because we love their food. If you ever try the chicken club, you will be in food heaven with their secret sauce on it. MY LORD THATS GOOD STUFF

We have not ruled that one out yet. It will be one we bring in eventually for sure!
Make your way up to Santa Monica and do Bay Cities Italian Deli. Even though Mona Lisa is good, Bay Cities will be even better… the Godfather and the Hot Pastrami are my go tos. I am a UCLA grad and live in San Diego, so know both places personally.

Hey, my fellow italians! I've watched every one of your videos and have enjoyed them all. But I had to make a comment about your review of the italian beef at Miilton's. I'm guessing you didn't get a chance to Google what an italian beef is from Chicago or are up-to-date with Hulu's smash hit The Bear. The award winning series, starts off in an italian beef stand in chicago. Suggesting mushrooms would make the sandwich better is equivalent to suggesting bean sprouts would make a Philly Cheese Steak taste better. It's nothing like a french dip or Philadelphia steak sandwich. I just felt bad for Milton's, which is such a terrific restaurant. It scratches, that ethnic memory you're looking for, also for all the Italian Chicagoans that are watching your videos. Although to be completely fair the garlic bread take on it is original for them. Anyway, I'm one of your subscribers and will continue to watch your videos.I think you are a cute father son duo giving us good feedback on some local places. Be sure to check out DZ Atkins in the future.
That was the longest comment we have gotten so far and we absolutely love the honesty. I think the Italian beef on the garlic bread was just strange and for some reason mushrooms sounded like it would balance out the saltiness. Overall, we agree that it hits home for the nostalgia and food to follow the vibe. Thank you again for your honesty and we always welcome your input! if you guys are ever in the lake forest/laguna hills area try the FRENCH DIP at Moe's Deli. I'm not a big french dip fan but this thing is supreme (I get double meat and extra au jus). The bread they use is similar to bahn mi roll... its a must try.

It was good but not the best. The garlic bread was the biggest throw -off for us.
