Dying light 2 is good if we consider it as a seperate game but it has the name "Dying light" as we all shitting dying light 2 it has the best parkour system in gaming

you say all this as if every single character in DL1 didn't speak like an autistic A.I chat bot. the story is bad in both games, but that literally doesn't matter because parkouring across rooftops, and drop kicking zombies literally never gets old. i've put 100s of hours into DL1, and i'm currently 25 hours deep into DL2. most of that time isn't even playing missions. almost every mechanic in DL2 is an improvement over DL1, and i say that as someone who genuinely loved the first game. i think the DL community is going through the same thing as the GTA community where a huge portion of the fanbase refuse to acknowledge the improvements of the latest entry due to hipster syndrome. the people who are incapable of seeing the blatant improvements to gameplay are actively begging for it to regress, because they're blinded by nostalgia. same thing happened when Gta 4 came out. everyone kept saying it was a step sown from San Andreas, but it suddenly became the best game in the franchise once 5 released. i suspect this game will meet a similar fate.

"Design through iteration", ah yes, the same philosophy the devs of that incredible, not-messily-developed game, Starfield, also got by. HAMMER A GAME BIBLE AND TRY TO STICK WITH IT! You can't properly lead hundreds of people and handle millions of bucks on a "i feel this is a good direction at the moment" basis. Duke Nukem Forever and Daikatana had already shown how terrible this is decades ago. To be clear, design through iteration isn't inherently bad, it works well on singular, or small, tight-knit dev groups, like most indie devs and AA studios. But it's incredibly incompatible for big devs and ambitious projects.

DL2 is slowly turning into the game we were promised. I see it as another Cyberpunk problem but DL2 will always be a more fun game to parkour around than the first.

I mean I enjoy it, maybe not as a dying light sequel as nothing can live up to that but as a zombie game I think it's pretty fun. The parkour feels smooth and the combat can be derpy af sometimes! ❤

I disagree, if you are surprised at DL2 being a buggy mess then you clearly never played DL1. I went in expecting Dying Light and I got Dying Light. Setting aside the fact that Techland also worked on the buggy mess known as Dead Island you should NOT be surprised this is a buggy game that barely takes itself serious...

Dying light was such an underrated title when it came out. I thought it was fantastic but I guess we were used to good games coming out so frequently we took it for granted

I thought it was decent even with the bugs. The only thing that rly threw me off of it was the e3 trailer. Not that it was bad, but it was so good that when the game came out and was nothing like the trailer, i was immediately ready to hate the game.

honestly i have high hopes for dying light the beast i think it will be great but im on the side of being a dl2 "hater" , it was fun but man the story did not grab me whatsoever and also the parkour is great but did not feel as good because it was so floaty and just felt like i was playing with a tad of antigravity

I bought DL 1 & 2 on 2023 I must say that in terms of terror a prefer DL 1 to me it’s better. But DL 2 is not that bad… at least not now 😂

This game is so bad that i enjoyed it cuz of how silly it was. Even made a parody of this game. Sadly I played this game solo since my friends just couldn't handle how bad it was and quit early. 😢

I wouldnt say I hate DL2, but I definitely prefer the first one in every conceivable way. For some reason they made this one more colorful and less bleak, not as much grittiness in the actual look itself. I also really dislike how they made us wait for a year before we got guns instead of putting them in the game day 1. Why is it so hard for these devs to do exactly what made the first one great, and just update and tweak things that need tweaking? It seems like almost all sequels are worse, or lacking something that the first one had.

i don't hate DL2. I actually wanna buy the game and finally play it after i get a upgraded PC cuz i haven't yet and it seems interesting for a single playthrough or maybe 2 playthroughs with DLCs ofcourse. And then Dead Island 2 after.

I can forgive a game with some jank game mechanics. What I can't forgive is awful story and awful dialogue. The voice acting overall was fine. Jonah Scott did a great job. The first Dying Light was great. This one? Not so much.

Dying Light 2 is a shell of Dying Light 1 it's a shame Techland could make one of my favourite games of all time and fumble the bag so hard with the sequel. Sure they have made improvments but overall the style of game and the story suck. The plot is trash I really wish they could've focused back on the story of Dying Light 1 a parkour zombie game with connections to the outside world now in the second game the GRE and Military are nonexistant when they were my favourite part of the first game and Aiden instead of just being a regular survivor has superpowers like wtf that's so strange and the entire world being all decayed kind of makes the game suck also it was nice to see the city in the background but now it's just darkness and the map barriers suck like poison isn't a bad idea but the way they went about adding it was strange there is no consistency with the map layout the volatiles aren't scary anymore and the weapons suck no gold weapons which was great about the first game and they made the worst decision of not adding guns in Dying Light which is so dumb like your gonna tell me that there is not a single firearm in an entire city and more. So overall the story sucks the game isn't fun the map is terrible and the weapons aren't good and there is no consistency with the outfits and military ones were slept on which is what I wanted. So yeah I just went on a tangent because of how bad this game is which is something I usually don't do it's just so frustrating that a perfect game was destroyed like this.

Tbh I quite liked DL2. The story was as bad as the first one, however I did give a fuck about some characters in the sequel at least, unlike the first one, which fell to me like just a fun zombie game with a boring story and characters, except for crane and the DLC, which for me, had a more engaging and interesting story. Lawan, Hakon and even the retired leader of the nightrunners Frank made me give a shit about them. Still, DL2 had a lot of problems that have taken years to fix. Also its pretty funny that your choices only matter when they revolve around Lawan or Hakon, otherwise, choices dont really matter, that was definitely a bummer. Kinda like how with CPunk2077 only SOME decisions matter but the only ones that matter are with Panam, Johnny and Judy (Talking about the main quest here) (In the CPunk 2077 DLC they do matter at least a little bit more). For me I'd say I didn't love DL2 but I sure had a fun ass time with the game, hopefully "the beast" improves on many of the aspects that DL2 failed to deliver on. I pray that we get both, a good story and interesting characters this time, please techland, I beg you. 😔

First release Dying Light 2 is terrible... I cannot finished the game because it's keeps on crashing and in the last mission it corrupted my save files with max out character...
